Actinomycosis is a chronic, suppurative, and granulomatous process caused by actinomycetes, saprophytic bacteria normally residing in the oral cavity. There are a few cases of primary actinomycosis described in the literature where it can involve any organ. Primary cutaneous actinomycosis of the lower extremity is very uncommon and can easily be regarded as ordinary soft tissue infection. Herein, a case of 45-year-old diabetic man with primary cutaneous actinomycosis at his lower extremity, over the lateral aspect of left lateral maleolus, probably after direct inoculation of the microorganism from his saliva into a preceding wound in extremity, was reported. He was treated successfully with surgical excision combined with extended period of antimicrobial treatment.Anwer Khan Modern Medical College Journal Vol. 6, No. 1: January 2015, Pages 55-57

Abstract Ameloblastic fibrosarcoma (AFS) is a rare, aggressive malignant odontogenic tumor. AFS is seen most frequently in second and third decades of life. We are reporting a case of a low grade AFS in a 21-year-old male complaining of a painless swelling in the right side of the maxilla. The patient was treated with surgical excision followed by radiotherapy, which is considered the most effective approach for most of soft tissue sarcomas. AFS has a high-reported recurrence rate (up to 37%); therefore, long-term surveillance for recurrence is crucial.

<p class="abstract">Nasolabial cysts are rare, nonodontogenic soft tissue developmental cysts occur in the maxillary lip and nasal alar regions. Patients usually presents with an asymptomatic soft swelling with obliteration of the nasolabial fold. Due to it's origin from entrapped epithelium in an embryonic fusion plane developmentally, this cyst is considered to be a Hamartoma. Hamartomas are non-neoplastic malformations, or inborn errors of tissue development. They are characterized by an abnormal mixture of tissues indigenous to that area of the body. Complete surgical excision is the accepted method of treatment. This report aimed to present a case of nasolabial cyst hamartoma, which is rare in presentation.</p>

Chondrosarcoma is a rare variant of bladder tumor and one of the rare types of soft tissue sarcoma. This case happened on a 36-year-old male who complained of lumps in his lower abdomen, accompanied by difficulties in passing urine and painful urination, without hematuria. We performed TURBT and histopathological examination showed low-grade chondrosarcoma. The patient was diagnosed with low-grade bladder chondrosarcoma. The patient was treated for chemotherapy and radiotherapy. However, after undergoing one cycle of chemotherapy, the patient refused to continue the therapy.

Fungal Osteomyelitis

Osteomyelitis is an inflammatory process of bone and marrow contents. These changes in bone are primarily seen in soft tissue followed by calcified tissue. It is an opportunistic infection due to the complication of some other conditions rendering the host susceptible to disease. Consequences of this infection range from draining tract to malignant transformation. Various etiological factors are involved in origin of the disease; among them, fungal origin is rare. Specific feature in fungal osteomyelitis is the involvement of maxillary sinus with a complaint of sinusitis associated with diabetes mellitus. Here, we discuss a case of osteomyelitis with fungal infection involving the maxilla. The patient is under medication for the past five years due to diabetes.
