This paper presents an overview of the Rational Unified Process. The Rational unified Process is a software engineering process, delivered through a web-enabled, searchable knowledge base. The process enhances team productivity and delivers software best practices via guidelines, templates and tool mentors for all critical software lifecycle activities. The knowledge base allows development teams to gain the full benefits of the industry-standard Unified Modeling Language(UML). The rational Unified Process is a software Engineering Process. It provides a disciplined approach to assigning tasks and responsibilities within development organization. Its goal is to ensure the production of high-quality software that meets the needs of its end-users, within a predictable schedule and budget.[11,13] The rational Unified Process is a process product , developed and maintained by Rational Software. The development team for the Rational Unified Process are working closely with customers, partners, Rational's that the process is continuously updated and improved upon to reflect recent experiences and evolving and proven best practices. The Rational Unified Process is a guide for how to effectively use the Unified modeling Language(UML). The UML is a industry-standard language that allows us to clearly communicate requirements, architectures and designs. Deploying these best practices 3/4 using the Rational Unified Process as your guide 3/4 offers development teams a number of key advantages. In next section, we describe the six fundamental best practices of the Rational Unified Process. The Rational Unified Process describes how to effectively deploy commercially proven approaches to software development for software development teams. These are called "best practices" not so much because you can precisely quantify their value, but rather, because they are observed to be commonly used in industry by successful organizations.

The Unified Modeling Language (UML) is an industry standard for object-oriented software engineering. However, there is little empirical evidence on how the UML is used. This chapter reports results of a survey of UML practitioners. The authors found differences in several dimensions of UML diagram usage on software development projects, including frequency, the purposes for which they were used, and the roles of clients/users in their creation and approval. System developers are often ignoring the “Use Case-driven” prescription that permeates much of the UML literature, making limited or no use of either Use Case Diagrams or textual Use Case descriptions. Implications and areas requiring further investigation are discussed.

The quality in software projects is related the deliveries that are adjusted to the use, and that they take care of to the objectives. In this way, Brazilian organizations of software development, especially the small and medium ones, need to demonstrate to future customers whom an initial understand of the business problem has enough. This chapter has as objective to demonstrate methodology, strategy, main phases and procedures adopted beyond the gotten ones of a small organization of development of software in the implantation of a Customized Software Engineering Process and of a Tool of Support to the Process in the period of 2004 to 2006 on the basis of rational unified process (RUP) and in the Microsoft solutions framework (MSF).

High-quality development of critical systems poses serious challenges. Formal methods have been proposed to address them, but their use in industry is not as widespread as originally hoped. This chapter proposes to use the Unified Modeling Language (UML), the de-facto industry standard specification language, as a notation together with a formally based tool-support for critical systems development. The authors extend the UML notation with new constructs for describing criticality requirements and relevant system properties, and introduce their formalization in the context of the UML executable semantics. Furthermore tool-support concepts for this approach are presented, which facilitate transfer of the methodology to industrial applications.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to curate and promote students’ and lecturers’ works and creations, and to provide pleasing user experience for mobile device users when browsing the portfolio gallery information. Design/methodology/approach The design of the mobile web application using Rational Unified Process (RUP) methodology includes Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams. The evaluation is done in three steps: first step by comparing similar software, the second step by evaluate the interface using the eight golden rules and the last one by taking user questionnaire. Findings Evaluation of the application of Bina Nusantara University (BINUS) Store Mobile Web. Originality/value The authors report the development of BINUS Store Mobile web application by using Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) with Laravel framework and evaluate it in Android and iOS environments.

Bahasa Mandarin merupakan salah satu Bahasa yang terkenal di seluruh dunia. Ada sekitar 1.302 juta orang dengan berbagai kalangan umur telah menggunakan Bahasa mandarin, sehingga karena alasan tersebut banyak sekolah termasuk Sekolah Dasar (SD) Advent 1 Tikala Manado telah memasukkan Bahasa Mandarin sebagai salah satu mata pelajaran Bahasa asing. Namun siswa-siswa SD Advent 1 Tikala Manado merasa kesulitan dalam mempelajari Bahasa Mandarin dikarenakan tidak adanya media pembelajaran yang dapat membantu mereka dalam mempelajari Bahasa Mandarin di luar jam sekolah. Aplikasi pembelajaran Bahasa Mandarin Dasar merupakan solusi untuk membantu siswa SD Advent 1 Tikala Manado dalam mempelajari Bahasa Mandarin, baik dalam proses pembelajaran di sekolah maupun di luar sekolah. Unified Software Development Process (USDP) merupakan metode pengembangan perangkat lunak yang prosesnya dikendalikan oleh Use Case (use case driven) dan dikerjakan secara berulang (iterative) sehingga pada akhirnya menghasilkan perangkat lunak terintegrasi berukuran besar yang terbentuk secara bertahap (Incremental) dengan bantuan Unified Modeling Language (UML) sebagai alat bantu utama analisis dan perancangan sistem perangkat lunak. Aplikasi pembelajaran Bahasa Mandarin Dasar dibuat dengan fitur belajar dan bermain. Fitur belajar dilengkapi dengan materi pengajaran yang digolongkan ke dalam  beberapa kategori yaitu kategori kelas 1, kelas 2, dan kelas 3 serta sub fitur berupa suara dengan tujuan siswa bisa mengetahui cara pengucapan suatu kata. Dengan dibuatnya aplikasi ini diharapkan agar aplikasi ini bisa membantu siswa dalam mempelajari Bahasa Mandarin pada jam sekolah maupun diluar jam sekolah.

Pupuh is one of the four types of songs that exist in Bali. Pupuh is used to express advices, stories of heroism and feelings that usually shown on dramatari which is developedin Bali such as drama gong, arja and Bondres. This Media Belajar Pupuh Berbasis Android is a learning media pupuh with an Android device. This research aims to design andimplement application design Media Belajar Pupuh Berbasis Android.Development of the Media Belajar Pupuh Berbasis Android is using the software development life cycle SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) with the waterfall model.Features in this application are intended as a learning pupuh for users with an Androiddevice. The features of this application are the theory of pupuh, uger-uger of pupuh, tunings of pupuh, songs of pupuh and recordings of the user.The result of this research is the design and implementation of the Media BelajarPupuh Berbasis Android that has been successfully carried out. The design is done by using a functional model of the UML (Unified Modeling Language). Implemented in Javaprogramming language using the Eclipse editor and ADT (Android Development Tools) plug- ins, and also using AndEngine as additional libraries. The entire functional requirementshave been successfully implemented in accordance with the design.

Pada 2018 jumlah pengguna internet telah mencapai angka 171,17 juta jiwa diseluruh Indonesia yang setara dengan 64,8% dari total keseluruhan penduduk Indonesia yang berjumlah 264,16 juta jiwa, menurut riset Google yang dilaporkan oleh e-Conomy SEA pada tahun 2018 angka transaksi ekonomi digital Indonesia ditetapkan sebagai peringkat pertama di kawasan Asia Tenggara dengan kontribusi 49%. Perancangan sistem e-marketplace yang ditujukan untuk mengenalkan ciri khas dari produk betawi di Jakarta merupakan hal yang baik, sebab saat ini produk khas betawi tergolong sangat sulit ditemukan di Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan untuk perancangan sistem yaitu Rational Unified Process atau yang biasa disingkat dengan RUP memiliki 4 fase yang terdiri dari: inception, elaboration, contruction, transition. UML (Unified Modeling Language) digunakan pada tahap analisis dan perancangan guna mempermudah pemahaman atas sistem yang dibangun, kemudian tahap pengujian dilakukan dengan menggunakan blackbox testing. Kata Kunci: e-marketplace, codeigniter, rational unified process, sistem informasi, unified modeling language.

Pada Balai IPTEKnet Badan Pengkajian dan Penerapan Teknologi (BPPT) terdapat sebuah prosedur untuk memanajemen keluhan mitra kerjasama. Sistem ini bertujuan untuk memudahkan mitra kerjasama agar dapat menyampaikan keluhannya serta memudahkan staf Balai IPTEKnet dalam mengelola keluhan yang disampaikan oleh mitra kerjasama. Manajemen ini merupakan salah satu strategi CRM atau manajemen hubungan pelanggan yang ada di Balai IPTEKnet BPPT. Teknologi informasi memainkan peranan penting dan makin luas dalam bisnis. Mengingat berkembangnya dunia teknologi informasi dewasa ini, maka upaya yang akan dilakukan peneliti agar memudahkan pelanggan untuk berinteraksi dengan pegawai Balai IPTEKnet dalam menyampaikan keluhan dan mengefisienkan staf Balai IPTEKnet dalam memanajemen keluhan yaitu dengan membuat sebuah sistem manajemen keluhan mitra kerjasama berbasis web.Perancangan sistem dilakukan setelah data diperoleh dan analisa terhadap data yang didapat telah dilakukan. Sistem yang akan dibuat dirancang berdasarkan metode unified process dan menggunakan diagram UML (Unified Modeling Language). Dilakukan pengujian dengan menggunakan metode black box.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membangun aplikasi kinerja salesman yang menggunakan mobile device dengan framework JQuery mobile yang mempermudah proses pencatatan orderan, pengecekan stok dan mengontrol sistem kinerja salesman. Penelitian ini, menggunakan metode research and development sebagai bentuk penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, observasi, serta studi dokumentasi. Pemodelan sistem menggunakan unified modeling language, sedangkan metode perancangan aplikasi menggunakan agile software development method dengan pendekatan extreme programming. Untuk membangun web mobile menggunakan bahasa pemrograman PHP (hypertext preprocessor) dengan framework JQuery mobile dan database MySQL. Penelitian ini menghasilkan fitur login salesman, fitur indent, fitur pengontrol kinerja salesman dan menampilkan laporan penjualan secara periode tertentu yang dapat diakses dari perangkat mobile salesman.
