Since the establishment of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, China's Direct investment in Africa has the characteristics as follows: rapid development of investment scale, enriched investment fields and diversified investors. While the investment proportion in Africa of total China’s OFDI is still small and the investment mainly concentrates on certain Africa countries. Most importantly, in the process of China’s investment in Africa, investment risks are rising, many investment projects have suffered setbacks or failures. Chinese enterprises face with political risk, corruption risk, environmental risk and public opinion risk in process of direct investment in Africa. Therefore, enterprises should improve the ability to control and prevent the risk, investment strategy should be optimized according to local conditions, as well as fulfill the environmental responsibility and enhance the voice in Africa to improve the international image.

With the promulgation of the “Going Global” strategy, Chinese enterprises’ outward forward direct investment (OFDI) moved towards a stage of rapid development. Based on the data concerning projects of Chinese enterprises, this paper establishes a network of OFDI host countries with the industry as the media and analyzes the network and its evolution characteristics by using the complex network method. Results show that the number of network nodes is increasing, and the edges between communities are greater, and the number of countries along the Belt and Road route is increasing. The network is a so-called small-world network. To reduce investment risks, it is necessary to identify the key nodes in the network. Based on the centrality of key nodes in complex networks, the improved “scatter degree” method is used to evaluate the importance of each host node. Results demonstrate that the United States and Australia are the most important countries for Chinese enterprises to invest overseas, followed by Brazil, Canada, Russia, Indonesia, and the United Kingdom (UK). Excluding the UK, all other countries are resource-rich. Thus, it can be seen that the FDI of Chinese enterprises is mainly resource-based investment.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the Ukrainian market for the spread of cloud technologies, an overview of growth dynamics, application segments and identifies leading companies that offer services using cloud computing. According to the unanimous forecasts of the world’s leading consulting companies, the rapid improvement and spread of cloud computing is now one of the key trends that in the next 5-8 years will significantly affect the global development of not only the IT industry but also business, finance, public administration, medicine, education and many other areas of human life. Prospects for the rapid development of cloud services in Ukraine encourage more careful consideration of the experience of their application in more «mature» markets and identify the main benefits and risks of these technologies in local conditions. People perceive the cloud as a platform only for storage and computing. However, there are many other opportunities that cloud technologies offer with cloud computing. Currently, cloud computing technologies are becoming increasingly popular. The advantages of this technology are obvious: economy, speed, elasticity, versatility of access. In the future, their use will create a powerful information and telecommunications system, which will be a technological solution for the construction and development of new infrastructure in the country. The world’s largest IT vendors (Microsoft, Amazon, Google and others) somehow implement cloud computing services, providing a wide range of opportunities for users. Thus, cloud computing is software and hardware that is available to the user via the Internet (or local network) in the form of a service that allows you to use a user-friendly web interface for remote access to dedicated resources (computing resources, programs and data). Thus, cloud computing is the next stage of information development of mankind.

The article considers the role of foreign direct investment in various industry projects and their implementation. The statistics of the number of investment projects in Europe and Russia are analyzed. The best French experience of attracting foreign direct investment is considered. The main future trends of economic development that will affect the investment attractiveness of a country, taking into account the epidemiological situation in the world, are presented. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on changes in the implementation of investment projects in European countries was studied. The article describes the industries that have real economic potential for further development, as well as those that are most affected by the current global economic and epidemiological situation.

As explained in the foregoing chapter, once the relevant cash outflows and inflows associated with a foreign direct investment project are estimated so as to calculate the net cash flows, the desirability of the investment project should then be determined in terms of its economic profitability. Therefore, in this chapter the methods widely used in evaluating investment projects are discussed and their advantages as well as shortcomings are highlighted. Later in the chapter, evaluating foreign direct investment projects from the viewpoint of the parent company is elaborated in terms of profit and/or income transferred to the home country. The same investment evaluation techniques were applied to the net cash flows transferred to the home country of the parent company. The possible income and/or dividends to be remitted to the home country of a parent company are identified and discussed so as to reflect the viewpoints of investing parent companies when planning foreign direct investments. This two-level evaluation approach is generally followed in practice to make sure that direct investments are profitable at both host and home country levels, since an investment project that is not profitable at host country level would not be profitable at home country level either or a project that is profitable at host country level may not be profitable at home country level.
