This research was aimed to examine the correlation between self confidence and learning independency among senior high school students. This research was a quantitative study which involved all student of class XI social science major (ilmu pengetahuan sosial/IPS) in SMA Negeri 1 Porong with the total number of 88 students. The instrument used to collect data were self confidence and independent learning scales. Data were analyzed using Pearson’s product moment. The result shows that the coefficient correlation is 0,683 (r=0,683) in the significant level of 0,000 (p=0,000). The result means that there is correlation between self confidence and learning independency in which the relation between both variables is unidirectional. So, the higher the self confidence student have, the higher their learning independency would be and vice versa.

The purpose of this investigation was to find out the significant relationship between Self-concept and achievement motivation of high school students and also tried to measure the self-concept and achievement motivation in relation to gender. For the purpose of the present study 400 (200 boys, 200 girls) students of high school were selected randomly from four different schools of Aligarh (UP) within the age range of 16-17 years. To assess the self concept of high school students Self-Concept Questionnaire developed by Dr. R. K. Saraswat (1984) was used which provides six dimensions viz. physical, social, intellectual, moral, educational, and temperamental as well as a total self-concept score. The achievement motivation of high school students was measured by the Achievement Motivation (n-Ach) Scale developed by Dr. Pratibha Deo and Asha Mohan (1985). Pearson’s product moment co-efficient correlation was applied to investigate the relationship between self-concept and achievement motivation; t-test was applied to see the differences between mean scores of girls and boys on self-concept and achievement motivation. One of the findings of the study showed a significant positive correlation existed between self concept and achievement motivation of high school students. Another finding of the study revealed that there was no significant gender differences existed on total self-concept, physical self-concept, intellectual self-concept, educational self-concept and temperamental self-concept. Furthermore it was found that girls and boys differed significantly on social self-concept and moral self-concept.

This study investigated the relationship between level of self-concept and personality factors in 130 high school students, using as self-concept measures, subtests from the Index of Adjustment and Values, the Self-esteem Inventory, and the Tennessee Self-concept Scale, and using the High School Personality Questionnaire as a measure of personality factors. A general self-concept factor was derived, through factor analysis, from the self-concept subtests and then two groups of subjects were identified as high or low on this general factor. A sex by group by subtest analysis of variance indicated a significant group by subtest interaction, suggesting that the questionnaire can be used to identify students with high and low self-concepts. Low self-concept subjects were more anxious and introverted than high self-concept subjects, who were less anxious and more extroverted.

This study aims to determine the relationship between self-esteem and vandalism levels of on high school freshmen students. The data of this correlational study was obtained through the Vandalism Scale, Coopersmith Self-Esteem Scale and Personal Information Form developed for his study. The sample of this research consists of 1225 students in public high schools freshmens in the Şanlıurfa province and district centers. Of the whole research group, 587 are female and 638 are male students. The relationship between the vandalism and self-esteem levels of student was investigated with the Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficients. In addition, the calculations on the self-esteem of students predicting their vandalism levels were carried out with the simple regression analysis. Analyzing the binary correlation between vandalism and self-esteem, it was found that the relationship was negatively and significantly. In predicting vandalism scores from all the variables in the study, the self-esteem scores of students with the simple regression analysis, self-esteem scores explained the 3% of the total variance in vandalism scores. Negative correlation between these two variables indicates that individuals having high self-esteem have less vandalism tendencies.

Bunların 587’si kız, 638’i ise erkek öğrencilerden oluşturmaktadır. Öğrencilerin özsaygı düzeylerinin tahripçi davranışlarını yordama gücü basit regresyon analizi ile incelenmiştir. Öğrencilerin özsaygı ölçeği puanlarının tahripçilik puanlarındaki varyansın %3'ünü açıkladığı bulunmuştur. Bu iki değişken arasındaki ilişkinin negatif olması özsaygısı yüksek bireylerin tahripçi davranışlarının daha az olduğunu göstermektedir.

The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between high school students' digital addiction levels and their inquiry skills. The sample of the study consists of 319 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade high school students chosen by random sampling. Of these students studying in Sivas province schools of Turkey, two are Anatolian High School, and one is an Anatolian Imam Hatip (Religious) High School. 190 of the students are girls (59.6%), and 129 are boys (40.4%). Data were collected through the "Digital Addiction Scale (DAS)" developed by Dilci (2019) and the "Inquiry Skills Scale (ISS)" developed by Aldan Karademir and Saracaloglu (2013). In analyzing the data, the arithmetic mean and standard deviation values of the scores obtained from the scales were found, and Pearson's correlation analysis and simple linear regression analysis tests were used. The study detected negative significant relationships, albeit low, between the DAS sub-dimensions of deprivation, impulsivity, underperformance, low self-perception, and social isolation and all the sub-dimensions of ISS (i.e. acquiring knowledge, controlling knowledge, and self-confidence). There was also a low negative significant relationship between the overall DAS and ISS scores of the high school students. Finally, digital addiction levels were determined to explain 5% of the variance in the high school students' inquiry skills.
