The article based on the research which aim is to clear, how common teaching practices in Russian schools affecting the decline in the results of students when performing tasks of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA). The authors of the article try to understand why teachers so often prefer quite old training technologies. In the course of study these problems, members of research team conducted interviews and discussions with school teachers from the Moscow region who were trained in advanced training courses at the Academy of Public Administration. Intensive interaction with teachers helped the authors to draw a conclusion that the avoiding more effective contemporary training technologies is due to certain conditions in which the teacher works. Another conclusion made in the article: teachers fail in teaching students not because they do not have enough knowledge of modern technologies and techniques or because they underestimate the importance of developing critical thinking, anthropological imagination, knowledge of meta-subject connections, the skills to understand texts and work with heterogeneous information, but because they are not ready to accept the changing social role of the school.

The current teaching of mathematics is guided by recommendations that suggest the implementation of various activities in order to raise the understanding of mathematical knowledge. This diversity is related to the characteristics of the tasks proposed in the learning contexts. Among all tasks, the modelling ones call for the application of activities through different representations. So, it is important that teacher training courses promote experiences involving prospective teachers with this type of task. Based on this assumption, we intend to identify the activities that prospective primary school teachers perform in solving modelling tasks, the difficulties experienced in these tasks and the value of the models they determine. From the analysis of the resolutions of two tasks, we find that the prospective teachers translate the information of the data available in tables through graphs and analytical expressions. Some discuss models that determine which best fits the data. In the activities carried out, difficulties arise in determining the proportionality constant that best translates the problem situation, discussing the reasonableness of the values generated by the model, and sketching the graph of the model that best fits the experimental data. As for the usefulness of the model they determine, few prospective teachers are predicting outcomes.

A grande expansão de estudos relacionados à divulgação e popularização da neurociência vem ganhando um cenário mais visível recentemente, principalmente na área da educação. Contribuindo para esse crescimento foi criado um programa de extensão, denominado POPNEURO, que objetiva popularizar a neurociência, levando informações desta área de forma lúdica e dinâmica a escolares da rede pública de ensino do município de Uruguaiana-RS e à população em geral. As principais ações do programa foram realizadas em quatro escolas, com alunos entre 10 e 13 anos de idade. As atividades incluíram: (i) atividades práticas realizadas em semanas temáticas; (ii) Neuroblitzes semanais compostas por uma pequena explanação teórica de temas relacionados à neurociência, seguida de atividades práticas para a fixação do conteúdo trabalhado; (iii) criação e manutenção de uma página em rede social sobre neurociência e educação; e, (iv) cursos de formação para professores. As ações, principalmente as práticas, tiveram grande aceitação por parte dos alunos e professores participantes, atingindo o objetivo de promover a popularização da neurociência em âmbito escolar. Palavras-chave: Extensão Universitária, Divulgação Científica, Escola, Sistema Nervoso.   POPNEURO: a Report of an extension Program that seeks to disseminate and popularize neuroscience at school Abstract: The great expansion of studies related to the dissemination and popularization of neuroscience has become more visible recently, particularly in education settings. In order to contribute to the development of this initiative, an extension program called POPNEURO was created with the objective of popularizing neuroscience by providing information related to this area in a fun and dynamic way to students from public schools and to thegeneral public in the city of Uruguaiana-RS. The  actions were carried out in four schools, with students ranging from 10 to 13 years- old. The activities included: (i) practical activities that took place during thematic weeks; (ii) weekly Neuroblitzes that offered small lecture on topics related to neuroscience, followed by hands-on activities to reinforce the contents presented; (iii) the creation and maintenance of a  social network webpage on the topic of neuroscience and education; (iv) training courses for teachers. The actions related to the project, especially the practical ones, had great acceptance by students and teachers, which contributed to achieve the goal of promoting neuroscience in schools. Key-words: University Extension, Scientific Dissemination, School, Nervous System.   Relato de un Programa de Extensión que busca divulgar y popularizar la neurociencia junto a las escuelas   Resumen: En la actualidad los proyectos relacionados a la difusión y popularización de la neurociencia han tenido un crecimiento significativo, principalmente en el área de educación. Contribuyendo a este desarrollo se ha creado un programa de extensión llamado POPNEURO, cuyo objetivo es popularizar la neurociencia y fomentar el suministro de información en este ámbito de una forma lúdica y dinámica a los estudiantes de escuelas públicas de la ciudad de Uruguaiana-RS y a la población en general. Este programa se llevó a cabo en cuatro escuelas, con alumnos de 10 a 13 años de edad. Las actividades que se implementaron en el programa incluyeron: (i) actividades prácticas en semanas temáticas; (ii) neuroblitzes semanales compuestos por una pequeña explicación teórica de temas relacionados con la neurociencia, que se siguieron de actividades prácticas para el establecimiento de los contenidos de trabajo; (iii) creación y manutención de una página en redes sociales sobre la neurociencia y la educación; y (iv) los cursos de formación para docentes. Las acciones, especialmente las prácticas, tuvieron gran aceptación por parte de los alumnos y profesores participantes, alcanzando el objetivo de promover la popularización de la neurociencia en las escuelas participantes. One of the problems of primary school teachers’ training in postgraduate education is to prove the guidelines vector of teaching activities on the development of creative abilities of every child. From the early school years it is necessary to enhance the student’s tendency to creative performance with new creative and intellectual abilities and effective methodologies. The realia of the new millennium requires the activation of personality’s creative potential, creative activity of primary school students, creating psychological and pedagogical conditions for their professional self-expression and creative fulfillment.The aim of the article is to analyze the content of primary school teachers’ training on the development of primary school students’ creative potential in postgraduate education.The content of primary school teachers’ training for the creative potential development of primary school students during training courses in postgraduate teachers’ education complies with such features as: concentric (allows to establish a connection between the known and the unknown, to develop, enhance, organize teachers’ ideas on the types and methods of the development of primary school students’ creative abilities); transfer from simple to complex in teaching of adults, from the known to the unknown or little known (makes it possible to gradually expand, enrich the content of each topic); the relationship of learning content during training courses with practical activities in primary school (includes visiting methodologist teachers’ lessons at schools); providing students with positive motivation during learning to fix the interest in the development of primary pupils’ creative activity in the classroom; interdependence of methods and techniques of training (for their efficient optimal combination in different learning situations).Thus, the content of primary school teachers’ training to the development of primary school students’ creative potential in postgraduate education combines didactic, andragogical and psychological foundations of teachers’ education as a particular category of working adults. In the long term we shall search pedagogical conditions of training.

In the period 2007-2009 the Ministry of Health and the CCM (the Desease Control Center), in accordance with the Piemonte Region and the ASL CN2 Alba-Bra, have realized 88 training courses in 11 regions involving 2427 "multipliers of prevention", including Health Service workers, law enforcement officers, driving school teachers, Motor Registry and Traffic Authority officers, teachers, instructors (provisional licences). The project provided the participants with methodological and teaching tools for the activation of prevention actions of road accidents caused by the consumption of alcohol, pharmaceuticals and illegal drugs, targeted at young learner drivers, new licence-holders, and high-risk drivers.

Hands-on type training of Integrated Computational Materials Engineering (ICME) is characterized by assisted application and combination of multiple simulation software tools and data. In this paper, we present recent experiences in establishing a cloud-based infrastructure to enable remote use of dedicated commercial and open access simulation tools during an interactive on-line training event. In the first part, we summarize the hardware and software requirements and illustrate how these have been met using cloud hardware services, a simulation platform environment, a suitable communication channel, common workspaces and more. The second part of the article focuses (i) on the requirements for suitable on-line hands-on training material and (ii) on details of some of the approaches taken. Eventually, the practical experiences made during three consecutive on-line training courses held in September 2020 with 35 nominal participants each, are discussed in detail.

The purpose of this study was to establish the utility of the Theory of Planned Behavior in predicting nonspecialist, preservice primary-school teachers’ intentions to teach physical education for 2 hr per week. A questionnaire was developed, according to the recommended procedures, and was administered to 128 final-year teacher trainees in two Primary Teacher Training courses in England. A variety of predictors were identified, including beliefs of significant others, such as parents; a positive assessment of control over difficult barriers; and experiences of past (teaching) behavior. The most significant predictor in discriminating between intenders and nonintenders, however, was personal exercise behavior. Helping preservice primary-school teachers become more physically active themselves might positively influence their intent to teach physical education 2 hr per week more than alleviating barriers to teaching physical education.
