Gastrointestinal metastases from lung cancer are rare and usually asymptomatic. We report a case of small bowel metastases from primary lung cancer revealed by abdominal pain and severe recurrent anaemia. The diagnosis was obtained with capsule endoscopy. This non-invasive procedure thus represents a valuable method contributing to a rapid and detailed diagnosis while reducing underdiagnosis, and it should thus be considered for lung cancer patients complaining of abdominal symptoms, which may indeed be related to gastrointestinal metastases.

Abstract Background: Invasive mucinous carcinoma is a very rare tumor. The colonic metast-asis of IMA is more infrequent. So far, no literatures are published. Case presentation: We report a case of a patient with invasive mucinous adenocarci-noma. After serial months of chemitherapy, the sigmoid colonic metastasis was detected. Conclusions: Symptoms and CT findings can initially be subtle, histological examination remains the gold standard for the definitive diagnosis. Patients with high grade primary lung cancer may have gastrointestinal metastases, therefore their gastrointestinal should be examined to allow early detection and treatment.

So far optimization problems for diagnostics and prognostication aids remained relevant for lung cancer as a leader in the structure of cancers. Objective: a search for regularities of changes in the saliva enzyme activity in patients with nonsmall cell lung cancer. In the case-control study, 505 people took part, divided into 2 groups: primary (lung cancer, n=290) and control (conventionally healthy, n=215). All the participants went through a questionnaire survey, saliva biochemical counts, and a histological verification of their diagnosis. The enzyme activity was measured with spectrophotometry. Between-group differences were measured with the nonparametric test. It was shown that in terms of lung cancer, we observe metabolic changes, described with the decreased de Ritis coefficient (p
