The paper addresses the problem of determinism in the philosophy of history. It explores to what extent views of history related to specific models of the philosophy of history implied the possibility of forming the future or its determinism. One of the key problems in Reinhard Koselleck’s theory of history and practice of intellectual history is the dual role of historical studies in general and of historical-political concepts in particular. In a simplified sense, this duality means a changing of roles between being an indicator and an actor. In other words, it signifies the problem of how concepts or views of history used for representing the historical-political reality of a given age have actually shaped that history themselves.

In its reference to the people’s sins in the wilderness, Psalm 106 connects the episode of the spies to the future exile. This idea, that the exile came as a result of the sins of the ancestors, is not found in the Pentateuch. We do find it in Ezekiel 20, in the prophet’s attempt to present the fate of Israel as foretold and deterministic. This paper asks why and in what way the psalmist adopts Ezekiel’s idea and terminology. The psalmist cites Ezekiel’s words almost entirely, acknowledging that the situation of the exile was predetermined. However, in its new context, this idea is altered as the psalmist highlights the people’s ability to influence and ease the severity of their situation.

English: Venugopal has a distinct identity in Hindi poetry. The atmosphere of disillusionment and the social status quo had an effect on your poem. Oriented towards Akavita. But soon you realized his regression. As a result, progressives were oriented towards the stream. The land of reality shaped beautiful dreams of the future. Your poem conveys the hopes, dreams, feelings, sensations of the common man. It also exposes the middle class weaknesses while being sympathetic towards the neglected workers and is a proponent of action against the power. It shares the golden dreams of the future, in retaliation for its oppression-exploitation-violence. It has the content of strategy and tactics for the youth taking action from the power. Sometimes it is very suggestive and expresses socio-political reality in an interesting way. Where the dialogue style is present in it, its symbolism is multidimensional. This poem also questions the role of media by taking a sarcastic pose.

The given paper deals with the inauguration speeches of Vladimir Putin (2018) and Donald Trump (2017) and is aimed at analyzing the role of verbal means in forming the speech portraits of political leaders. By means of comparative content analysis we looked for grammatical, lexical and stylistic elements peculiar to a specific linguistic persona while comparing the speeches of the presidents as well as we attempted to determine the specific national backgrounds of political discourse. We found out that the speech portrait of a country leader is strongly related to his national identity, mentality and socio-political course of the country. Thus, each president’s inauguration context model is mostly characterized by a different set of linguistic means. The paper findings may be useful for researchers who deal with interdisciplinary studies, political and cognitive linguistics, political discourse and communication analysis.

Abstract. As the criticism of the definition of the phenotype (i.e., clinical diagnosis) represents the major focus of the Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) initiative, it is somewhat surprising that discussions have not yet focused more on specific conceptual and procedural considerations of the suggested RDoC constructs, sub-constructs, and associated paradigms. We argue that we need more precise thinking as well as a conceptual and methodological discussion of RDoC domains and constructs, their interrelationships as well as their experimental operationalization and nomenclature. The present work is intended to start such a debate using fear conditioning as an example. Thereby, we aim to provide thought-provoking impulses on the role of fear conditioning in the age of RDoC as well as conceptual and methodological considerations and suggestions to guide RDoC-based fear conditioning research in the future.
