Purpose The current world of knowledge has a demand for intellectual capital to position or prosper any business. Organizations are constantly looking for developing a pool of talent to gain a competitive advantage. The purpose of this study is to find out the contribution of knowledge sharing that enhances the performance of the employees. This study also exhibits a model for measuring the performance of the employee. Design/methodology/approach This study is based on the primary and secondary sources of data. This paper has collected 354 samples from the different information technology (IT) firms located in India. The data were analyzed through statistical package for the social sciences-23 and analysis of moment structures. Path analysis has been conducted to examine the independent and mediating effects on the dependent factor. Findings This study confirms the conceptual model with the data. The key contributors are organizational intelligence (OI), organizational learning and knowledge sharing and organizational culture. The performance of the employee is primarily based on organizational learning. OI, knowledge sharing and organizational culture are the major factors that create an environment for organizational learning. Practical implications The findings suggest that organizational learning stimulates the effect of knowledge management practices on employee performance. Apart from this OI affirms the learning culture for IT firms. Originality/value Drawing from the different theories, this is the first study where the role of OI, organizational culture and knowledge sharing simultaneously aligned and shows the effect on employee performance with the mediation role of organizational learning.

Purpose Competitive intelligence (CI) collects data through the distribution of knowledge to make decisions in a competitive environment. To better comprehend the concept of CI, the purpose of this paper is to determine the role of effective factors (knowledge sharing, competitor information, information technology (IT) and organizational culture) and their impact on CI. In addition, the paper provides a conceptual framework for determining the practical factors on CI. Design/methodology/approach For evaluating the elements of the model, a questionnaire is considered. Questionnaires were reread by specialists with significant experiences in the CI field. For statistical analysis, the SPSS 22 and SmartPLS 3.2 software package is also used. Findings Findings from the study showed the validity of the model for a CI assessment. Furthermore, the results confirmed that the competitor information significantly influenced CI. In addition, the obtained results implied that IT has a significant and positive influence on CI. The effect of organizational culture on CI also proved to be positive and significant. Research limitations/implications This paper makes significant contributions for both researchers and practitioners; however, the authors determine some limitations, which are as follows: First, the authors showed the result in a single region. It cannot be assured that the results are generalizable to other areas. Second, because of time and financial constraints, the authors gathered the data using a sample from a single location. Third, the use of variables to depict CI may be not exhaustive. The authors, therefore, encourage future research to study these CI dimensions. Practical implications This study meaningfully contributes to the knowledge and literature by focusing more on CI, examining other significant aspects and applying advanced statistical analysis method. Also, current research results suggest practical implications for marketing practitioners and managers who implemented tools and made strategic plans to enhance the organization’s performance. From a practical perspective, the statistical results support the crucial role of the following factors: IT, competitor information, organizational culture and knowledge sharing on CI. Originality/value Experts in the area of knowledge management, CI and strategic management can use this study to gain a competitive advantage based on knowledge and information resources. Organizations must have knowledge management function and CI to support the strategy formulation, implementation and evaluation.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to empirically investigate the relationship between learning culture, inquiry and dialogue, knowledge sharing structure and affective commitment to change. Also, the paper examines the mediating effect of employee resilience on the relationship between learning culture, inquiry and dialogue, knowledge sharing structure and affective commitment to change. Design/methodology/approach The sample comprised of responses from 510 employees’ working in information technology companies based in India. Confirmatory factor analysis was employed to analyse the proposed measurement model and structural equation modelling was used to test the study hypotheses. Additionally, the study utilized mediation analyses proposed by Preacher and Hayes (2004) to investigate the mediating role of employee resilience. Findings The results show significant relationship between the study variables. Employee resilience was found to partially mediate the relationship between learning culture, inquiry and dialogue, knowledge sharing structure and affective commitment to change. Practical implications Examining the relationship between learning culture, inquiry and dialogue, knowledge sharing structure and employee resilience can have significant implications for organizations. The proposed study framework can be utilized by the researchers and human resource practitioners to frame organizational practices and interventions to develop a pool of resilient and change committed workforce. Originality/value First, the general understanding of the relationship between learning culture, inquiry and dialogue, knowledge sharing structure and affective commitment to change is scant in literature. Second, the study extends the previous research by investigating the mediating role of employee resilience between learning culture, inquiry and dialogue, knowledge sharing structure and affective commitment to change.

The purpose of the study was to examine the influence of perceived organizational politics on innovative work behavior and to identify the mediating effect of employees’ knowledge sharing. A  questionnaire survey was carried out to 493 minimarket employees. Pearson’s correlation analysis was carried out to identify the characteristics of variables and their mutual relations, an multiple regression was also conducted for Baron & Kenny's (1986)’s mediated effect analysis.  The finding suggests that there exists a negative relationship between perceived organizational politics and knowledge sharing, and a positive relationship between knowledge sharing and innovative work behavior.  With regard to the role of knowledge sharing in the relation between perceived organizational politics and innovative work behavior, results of knowledge sharing as a full mediator have confirmed the hypothesis.

The objective of this study is analyzed the impact of organizational culture, training, and leadership on the work performance of civil workers in financial and development supervisory agency. This research uses an associative approach with simple random sampling technique which is measured by SEM using the Smart PLS 3.0 application. The population of this study was 330 civil workers in Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP). The results of the study shown that the Organizational Culture Variables did not significantly influence work Performance of the civil worker in Financial and Development Supervisory Agency, but do not pass the reliability test. Training Variables have a positive and significant effect on the work performance of the civil workers. Leadership variables have a positive and significant effect on the work performance of the civil workers in Financial and Development Supervisory Agency.

Purpose - The purpose of this article is to analyze the impact of knowledge sharing on the relationship between organizational culture and job satisfaction of ICT industry in Hong Kong so that appropriate strategies can be put in place by relevant decision-makers to enhance corporate performance. Design/Methodology/Approach - The research includes items of culture dimension, knowledge sharing dimension, job satisfaction dimension and demographic information. Data collected from 228 valid respondents by an internet-based self-administrative anonymous questionnaire survey were analyzed by factor analysis and multiple regressions; validity, reliability and the mediating effect of knowledge sharing were also tested. Findings - Research findings revealed that organizational culture significantly influences knowledge sharing and job satisfaction and that knowledge sharing plays an important mediating role between organizational culture and job satisfaction. Practical Implications - The insightful results provide empirical evidence as potential guidance to employers of ICT industries and management to establish appropriate strategies to retain valuable staff and improve the efficiency of their human resources including incentive and reward policies. Originality/Value - This research studied the relationships between organizational culture, knowledge sharing and job satisfaction in Hong Kong context since most of the previous studies has focused on western countries. It is unique in that it investigated the mediating effects of knowledge sharing on job satisfaction of ICT practitioners in Hong Kong. Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze the knowledge sharing behavior of faculty members of research universities in emerging economies after considering the predicting role of knowledge management enablers and mediating role of trust. Design/methodology/approach The study was conducted through self-administered survey of faculty members of research universities in Pakistan. Correlation, causal steps approach and the normal test theory approach were used to find out the role of trust among knowledge management enablers and knowledge sharing. Findings The results showed that trust of faculty members at research universities was developed through knowledge management enablers which promote knowledge sharing. Therefore, the association between knowledge management enablers, trust and knowledge sharing is positive. Research limitations/implications The current study investigates the relationships of knowledge management enablers on knowledge sharing; future studies should be conducted as an extension of this work to find out the outcomes of this relationship such as performance of faculty members as well as effectiveness and competitive advantages of knowledge sharing. Practical implications Mediating role of trust on knowledge enablers and knowledge sharing provided that university administration and policy makers should create culture which support trust worthy relationships among faculty members where knowledge sharing could flourish. Originality/value The study confirmed the mediating effect of trust between the relationships of knowledge self-efficacy, reciprocal benefit, face to face interactive communication and knowledge sharing, while there is a partial mediating role of trust between knowledge management system infrastructure and knowledge sharing.
