The developed portable explosive-reactive complex for drilling-and-blasting operations in complex mining-geological conditions is considered. The basic design features of the complex are given. The main principles of ensuring the effectiveness of explosive-reactive drilling are formulated. The conditions for the appearance of the effect of the dynamic pressure on the rock of the complex ensuring its recoiling work are considered in detail.

In this chapter we will see how using spreadsheets can help you with many of the control tasks that we have discussed in the different chapters. We’ll also see how you can use graphs and charts (hand-drawn and by spreadsheet) to help in decision-making and presenting results. We will look at some of the simple techniques that can make spreadsheets easier to use on a frequent basis and at some of the shortcuts you can take. Incorporating some basic design features can help with ongoing usage, and with enabling others to use spreadsheets that you have designed. The use of charts and how they can help with presenting complex information in a simpler way will also be considered. It’s assumed that you have a basic knowledge of spreadsheets. If some of this is boring because you’re at a higher level of competence, then please move on. There’s a refresher exercise to revise skills and perhaps practise some new ones, and some suggestions about using spreadsheets for personal tasks. By the end of this chapter, therefore, you should be able to: - Comprehend the basic principles of spreadsheet design - Practise a range of techniques to improve speed and efficiency - Comprehend the variety of areas where spreadsheets can be used - Draw a chart to scale by hand - Create a chart using a spreadsheet.

Information on geophysical magnetic recording and play back systems has been obtained from specifications furnished by the several manufacturers. As will be seen in the following summary, the various systems differ in basic design features to such a degree that it is difficult to anticipate the achievement of any large‐scale standardization. This information is presented as being of interest to those concerned with the handling of seismic data, but with no intention of suggestion or recommendation.

The article is devoted to the study of the possibility of using SIP-technology in solving the problem of housing shortages in Bujumbura. The author analyzed the design features of houses, foreign experience in the development of low-rise construction, the advantages of using SIP-panels compared to other building materials. Organizational and technological solutions for the construction of low-rise apartment buildings using SIP-panels will help to provide the population with comfortable housing at an affordable price. The SIP-technology enables the construction in places with difficult terrain due to their difficult engineering and geological conditions.

AbstractIn human speech, a finite set of basic sounds is combined into a (potentially) unlimited set of well-formed morphemes. Hockett (1960) placed this phenomenon under the term ‘duality of patterning’ and included it as one of the basic design features of human language. Of the thirteen basic design features Hockett proposed, duality of patterning is the least studied and it is still unclear how it evolved in language. Recent work shedding light on this is summarized in this paper and experimental data is presented. This data shows that combinatorial structure can emerge in an artificial whistled language through cultural transmission as an adaptation to human cognitive biases and learning. In this work the method of experimental iterated learning (Kirby et al. 2008) is used, in which a participant is trained on the reproductions of the utterances the previous participant learned. Participants learn and recall a system of sounds that are produced with a slide whistle. Transmission from participant to participant causes the whistle systems to change and become more learnable and more structured. These findings follow from qualitative observations, quantitative measures and a follow-up experiment that tests how well participants can learn the emerged whistled languages by generalizing from a few examples.

In estimating the safety of underground pipeline operated in complicated engineering and geological conditions, it is necessary to know and consider the main regularities caused by pipeline interaction with soil. Presented in this article mathematical model of pipeline spatial bend under the action of group of loadings and influences allows estimate influence of complicated geological conditions and design features on pipeline’s stressed-deformed state and reliability. Keywords: acceptable risk, admissible risk, practical expediency principle.

By analyzing the stability factors and deformation characteristics of wall rock of dynamical pressure roadway in coal mine, the basic support form of dynamical pressure roadway was summarized. Combined with the geological conditions and the roadway damaged condition of two tape head chamber in ChengZhuang colliery No.2 area, the reinforcement approach was put forward, which adopting the composite grouting of cement and unsaturated polyester chemical pulp, then strengthened by prestressed grouting anchor. Comparing the supporting effect of prestressed grouted anchor with not grouted, it was obviously found that the effect is great improved. The strong deformation of dynamic pressure roadway can be solved effectively in this way.In recent years, with the development of mining technology and high-gas coal mining, the roadway layout that can meet the requirements of production and ventilation is increasingly complicated. The area of roadway increases as equipment have been expanding. The pressure has been apparently increasing because the thickness of mining and the height of caving face increase. The difficulty level of roadway support is also added since the surrounding rock condition become more and more complex [1-3].

Abstract The following work is an attempt to develop a model research reactor based on VVER-440 technologies, primarily for the production of radioisotopes used in nuclear medicine procedures. The article describes the basic design features of the model 10 MW multipurpose VVR reactor, including the features of reactor fuel, core, and related structures. A comparative analysis of targets for maximizing 99Mo production is also presented.
