This research explores the Critical Success Factors (CSF) for the handover and use stages of projects in the case of one of the most important companies in the gambling sector in Antioquia (Colombia). It develops a model with seven categories and an instrument that measures perception regarding success factors. The results show a difference between successful and unsuccessful projects for all the categories that were analyzed. However, the categories Project Efficiency and Benefit Realization are the main critical success factors. It also confirms that success factors differ according to the perspective of each type of stakeholder: sponsors, managers, project team, customers, and end users. This study contributes empirical evidence for critical success factors in project management from four perspectives: 1) at the handover and use stages; 2) from the perspective of different stakeholders; 3) in the gambling industry; and 4) in a developing country, such as Colombia. Finally, it can be concluded that the value that is given to new knowledge and experiences in successful and unsuccessful projects is an opportunity to create a knowledge management system, which allows to generate a favorable culture for the development of different types of projects in the company.

In order to achieve this, the chapter applies the critical success factors (CSF) method in a field study of successful KMS implementations across 12 large multinational organisations operating in a range of sectors. The chapter first generates a ‘collective set’ of CSFs from extant research to construct an a priori model and framework: this is then empirically validated and extended using the field study findings to arrive at a ‘collective set’ of CSFs for all 12 organisations. These are then employed to refine and extend the theoretical model using insights from the literature on capability theory. It is hoped that the model and framework will aid theory building and future empirical research on this highly important and relevant topic.

Although, knowledge has been recognized as a key business asset, firms are still in the infancy stages of comprehending the practical implications of knowledge management. Developing countries are widely believed to be falling far behind in competitiveness and socio-economic development, due to their inability to develop capacities to enable themselves to take part in the emerging global networks of knowledge creation. There is a dire need for a more organized and purposeful study, on critical success factors for knowledge management adoption in developing countries like Pakistan. However, no research, so far, has been conducted to empirically investigate a detailed list of CSFs for KM adoption in Pakistan. This paper evaluates and disseminates the findings of a self-administered survey to investigate the critical success factors for the implementation of KM in banking sector of Pakistan. A survey questionnaire having 11 factors, consisting 66 items is adopted in this study, which is statistically tested for its validity as well as reliability. Data are collected from banking officials. The level of importance, as well as the ranking list of the critical success factors for KM adoption is statistically examined. This paper provides a priority list of CSFs—figured out in order of their importance—for KM adoption in the banking sector of Pakistan. Human resource management, motivational aids, and processes and activities are found to be the most important, while measurement and organizational infrastructure are found to be the least important factors, perceived by the bankers.

<p align="center"><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p><p><em>This study discusses the Implementation of Knowledge Management System (KMS) at the National Savings Bank (BTN) in South Sumatra, as a government bank. Given the role of banks in the economy and the extraordinary level of competition. This research is expected to be a reference in implementing KMS in banking.</em><em> </em><em>Banks need KMS to run business processes in the application of expertise in organizations, because KMS is able to improve the bank's core competencies. KMS acts as a liaison in the knowledge provider to broaden and deepen knowledge, contribute to overcoming competition between banks in raising funds to create forms of innovative product services provided to the public.</em><em> </em><em>This research is to identify the implementation of KMS in the organization, so it can be seen the success factors of KMS in banking institutions. Data collected by questionnaire, then made a research model. Abstract Companies must deliver quality products to market in the shortest possible time in order to remain competitive in today’s business environment. One technology tool which is emerging as a key to reducing time to market is configuration management. This paper discusses why configuration management is important and the the critical success factors for the effective implementation of a configuration management system.
