Abstract The Republic of Uzbekistan is a Central Asian country with rich native flora. The territory belongs to the Irano-Turanian region in the Ancient Mediterranean floristic subkingdom of Holarctic. The flora of Uzbekistan accounts over 4300 species of vascular plants including large numbers of endemic species, but the check-list is still incomplete.
