AbstractThe results of an investigation of the invasive species in the flora of the Starobilsk grass-meadow steppe are presented. Check-list of alien plant has over 386 species of vascular plants of which 28 species are invasive. We have identified 6 transformer species from the invasive plants. We aggregate data on the entry, distribution history, ecology, occurrence in different plant communities, degree of their naturalization and the habitats where they occur. The leading families of invasive species are: Asteraceae. The basis for this group is presented by origin from the North America and the Mediterranean. With respect to the time of immigration, most of them are kenophytes. By the method of introduction, ksenophytes are dominated; according to the degree of naturalization epoecophytes and agriophytes dominate in this group. With regard to the characteristics of life forms, half of invasive species are terophytes. The vast majority of plants are heliophytes and xeromesophytes. Most species are found in biotopes group I: Cultivated agricultural biotopes; least of all species found in biotopes group F: Biotopes dominated by chamephytes and nanophanerophytes. Only 3 species found in biotopes group F: Biotopes dominated by chamephytesand nanophanerophytes. The maps of distribution of 28 invasive species are provided. Most of the species marked dispersed in more than 30 squares.

Abstract The results of an investigation of alien species that change the character, condition, form or nature of ecosystems over large areas (transformer species) in the flora of the Starobilsk grass-meadow steppe are presented. The check-list of alien plants includes over 386 species of vascular plants, of which 28 are invasive and 6 are transformer species. In this study, the data on the first records of alien species, their distribution history, ecology, occurrence in different plant communities and degree of naturalization were compiled. The distribution maps of transformer species are provided.

As a result of the field studies, analysis of publications and herbarium materials, it has been established that by now the alien flora of the Republic of Khakassia includes about 140 species of vascular plants. Of this number, more than 30 species are invasive plants included in the “Black Book of Flora of Siberia” (2016). In recent years, there has been both a fairly rapid replenishment of the flora with alien plants and a noticeable dispersal of a number of invasive species across the territory of Khakassia. For the purpose of monitoring alien plant species, we use the capabilities of the international scientific network iNaturalist.org.

ABSTRACTFew scientific observations have been made at Middle and Stoltenhoff Islands, small (ca 10 ha) islands off the north coast of Nightingale Island, Tristan da Cunha. We recorded vascular plants and numbers of breeding birds on both islands in December 2009. Despite being smaller and more isolated than Middle Island, Stoltenhoff supported more species of plants, including Cotula moseleyi, previously thought to be endemic to Nightingale Island. Only one alien plant was found, Sonchus oleraceus. Populations of two albatross species apparently have decreased by at least half over the last 40 years, presumably due to mortality at sea. Stoltenhoff probably has the least disturbed habitat in the Tristan group, and strict controls are needed to prevent accidental introductions by anyone going ashore.

Species diversity of plants was recorded in 1992 and 1993 at seven stations of the “Evolution Canyon” microsite. Higher solar radiation on the South-Facing Slope (SFS) causes warm, xeric savannoid formation versus temperate, cool, mesic, dense maquis on the North-Facing Slope (NFS), and riverine, segetal plant formations on the Valley Bottom (VB). In an area of 7000 m2, we recorded 320 vascular plant species in 217 genera and 59 families. Plant cover varied from 35% (SFS) to 150% (NFS). Annuals predominated among all life forms (61.3% of all species). SFS and NFS varied in species content, sharing only 31–18% of species. Phytogeographical types varied among the two slopes and valley bottom. Inter-and intraslope species composition varied drastically due to differential microclimatic stresses, thereby demonstrating at a microscale natural selection in action.

The work is based on the data of field studies carried out by the route method during 2017–2018 within the ad-ministrative boundaries of Yanaul city (Republic of Bashkortostan). According to research results, the flora of Yanaul includes 485 species of vascular plants from 286 genera and 81 families; 174 species are adventive, of which 38 can be classified as invasive and potentially invasive species. Among the most aggressive invasive species are Acer negundo, Echinocystis lobata, Elodea canadensis, Heracleum sosnowskyi, Hordeum jubatum, Lupinus polyphyllus, Xanthium album. Also, large areas within the city are occupied by an invasive species Soli-dago gigantea. 1 relict species (Campanula trachelium) was recorded, growing in the preserved areas with natu-ral vegetation. For each species, the attachment to certain habitats and the frequency of occurrence are given. For adventive species, information on the time, way of invasion and degree of naturalization are indicated. For inva-sive species, their status is indicated.

The information about the modern state synanthropization of forest and schrub floristic complexes of the Middle Cis-Dnipro Region (Ukraine) is generalized. The studies complexes recently have been significantly affected by anthropogenic influences and its consequences have led to a change in their floristic composition. The synanthropic fraction of the flora of studies floristic complexes is represent by 262 species of vascular plants, incl. 100 apophytes and 162 aliens. The results of fractional and structural analysis is presented. In the apophytic fraction, the largest number of species belongs to the families Asteraceae (23 species) and Caryophyllaceae (15); in this group are prevail: in the life forms spectra (according to K. Raunkier) – hemicryptophytes (52 sp.); in the hydromorphes spectra – xeromesophytes (36) and meso-xerophytes (32); according to the degree of adaptation of species to transformed ecotops – evapophytes (41) and hemiapophytes (38); by coenotic peculiarity – meadow (35). In the alien fraction, the largest number of species belong to the families Asteraceae (25) and Rosaceae (15); in this group are dominated by: species of North American (44) and Mediterranean (37) origin; according to the degree of naturalization – epoecophytes (64); in the life forms spectra – therophytes (54); in the hydromorphes spectra – mesophytes (75) and xeromesophytes (67). Annotation list of synanthropic fraction species, as well as apophytic and alien, is presented. A separate list of species of the forest and schrub complexes (46), which are able to extend to the transformed ecotopes outside the forest coenoses is presented. The predominance of adventization process over apophytization indicates a significant disruption of the structure of many plant communities. In the alien fraction a high percentage of species tree is observated. The most species as well as of apophytic and alien fractions of the studies complexes in the Region are characterized by high degree of naturalization and active and mass distribution. Some alien species, e.g. Amorpha fruticose, Acer negundo, and Impatiens parviflora etc. in the Region are transformer species, e.g., A. fruticosa is a characteristic species of F1.11 and G 1.112 biotopes; A. negundo dominates in coenosis of G1.35 biotope and formed of plant community in І4.111 and І4.12 biotopes, Impatiens parviflora – in G3.11 and G3.12 biotopes.

The article discusses the flora railway embankments of the station Dema related to Kuibyshev Railway. Railway embankments are active ways straddling immigrations of alien plant species. On these types of landscapes are formed anthropogenically transformed floristic complexes, in addition involving a large number of adventive species. Studied in 2013-2014 flora mounds station Dema includes 217 species, of which 84 adventive species. The average number of species in the family is equal to 5.9. The largest genera - Artemisia (6 species), Rumex (5 species), Poa (5 species), Centaurea (4 species). The time and manner of introduction, the degree of naturalization and florogenetic spectrum of flora were analized. Participation of invasive species in the flora is 38.6%, which determines the degree of its adventization. Among adventive species is high enough role neophytes (25.3%). In the flora of the study area for the new account the Bashkortostan Republic species and habitats - Ambrosia trifida, Cyclachaena xanthiifolia, Oenothera oakesiana, Oenothera biennis, Phalacroloma strigosum, Senecio viscosus, Eragrostis minor, Eragrostis pilosa.

Abstract The article is devoted to the adventive flora of the southern part of Sakhalin Island. Nowadays, 274 species of adventive plants, belonging to 192 genera and 57 families, have been identified here. Five families (Amaranthaceae, Cannabaceae, Commelinaceae, Linaceae, and Malvaceae) are represented by invasive species only. The structure of the leading families and genera is analyzed, the participation of adventive species information of plant communities is indicated. Adventive species are classified into life forms, method of entering and degree of naturalization.

Vera Antonovna Martynenko (17.02.1936–06.01.2018) — famous specialist in the field of studying vascular plant flora and vegetation of the Far North, the Honored worker of the Komi Republic (2006), The Komi Republic State Scientific Award winner (2000). She was born in the town Likhoslavl of the Kali­nin (Tver) region. In 1959, Vera Antonovna graduated from the faculty of soil and biology of the Leningrad State University and then moved to the Komi Branch of USSR Academy of Science (Syktyvkar). From 1969 to 1973 she passed correspondence postgraduate courses of the Komi Branch of USSR Academy of ­Science. In 1974, she received the degree of candidate of biology (PhD) by the theme «Comparative analysis of the boreal flora at the Northeast European USSR» in the Botanical Institute (St. Petersburg). In 1996, Vera Antonovna received the degree of doctor of biology in the Institute of plant and animal ecology (Ekaterinburg) «Flora of the northern and mid subzones of the taiga of the European North-East». The study and conservation of species and coenotical diversity of the plant world, namely the vascular plants flora of the Komi Republic and revealing its transformation under the anthropogenic influence, was in the field of V. A. Martynenko’ scientific interests. She made great contribution to the study of the Komi Republic meadow flora and the pool of medi­cinal plants. She performed inventorying and mapping the meadows of several agricultural enterprises of the Republic, revealed the species composition and places for harvesting medicinal plants and studied their productivity in the natural flora of the boreal zone. The results of her long-term studies were used for making the NPA system and the Red Book of the Komi Republic (1998 and 2009). Vera Antonovna participated in the research of the influence of placer gold mining and oil development on the natural ecosystems of the North, and developed the method of long-term monitoring of plant cover. Results of these works are of high practical value. V. A. Martynenko is an author and coauthor of more than 130 scientific publications. The most important jnes are «Flora of Northeast European USSR» (1974, 1976, and 1977), «Floristic composition of fodder lands of the Northeast Europe» (1989), «The forests of the Komi Republic» (1999), «Forestry of forest resources of the Komi Republic» (2000), «The list of flora of the Yugyd va national park» (2003), «The guide for vascular plants of the Syktyvkar and its vicinities» (2005), «Vascular plants of the Komi Republic» (2008), and «Resources of the natural flora of the Komi Republic» (2014). She also was an author of «Encyclopedia of the Komi Republic» (1997, 1999, and 2000), «Historical and cultural atlas of the Komi Republic» (1997), «Atlas of the Komi Republic» (2001, 2011). V. A. Martynenko made a great contribution to the development of the botanical investigations in the North. Since 1982, during more than 10 years, she was the head of the Department of the Institute of Biology. Three Ph. D. theses have been completed under her leadership. Many years, she worked actively in the Dissertation Council of the Institute of biology Komi Scientific Centre UrB RAS.  The death of Vera Antonovna Martynenko is a heavy and irretrievable loss for the staff of the Institute of Biology. The memory of Vera Antonovna will live in her numerous scientific works, the hearts of students and colleagues.
