In the 21st century, in addition to the growing population and the depletion of land-based mineral and energy resources, the development of coastal economic sectors has become a new global concern.  Therefore, all marine countries in the world consider the development and use of marine resources an essential part of their national development strategy. The marine economy gradually stimulates competition among nations. This article is based on the synthesis of documents to learn and analyze experiences of coastal development in some Northeast Asian countries in the context of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. From there, draw reference lessons for Vietnam.

This research was conducted Bangladesh (BD) and revised as an especial task study and review perspective of the coastal conditions and the features thus determine and critical analysis of integrated coastal zone management (ICZM). The coast length of Bangladesh is 710 kilometers wide. The coastal and ecosystem and habitats of the different animals are mostly depend on the features of coastal ecology and data analysis of both countries which have different strategies and techniques for the conservation of coastal biodiversity which were focused and brought together. Bangladesh coast contains vast biodiversity which are supported by the shingle beaches & sand dunes. The main features of the physical characteristics are the creeks, a lot of channels with crossing line, deltas of Ganges tidal plan with very low topology and mangroves. Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM) in Bangladesh are greatly different because of variation in advanced and developed technology and the system of the creating legislative recommendations also varies; which could determine changes in sea level and coastal resources as well as habitats. This study targets to detect the background of coastal zone management (ICZM), scope, coastal development, challenges, environmental impacts, and necessary measures. Now, integrated coastal zone management (ICZM) is used for coastal development strategy in BD.

The main causes of the faster growth in China's eastern coastal area, and thus for the rise in income disparity between eastern and western regions, are the rapid increases in foreign trade and foreign investment resulting not only from the government's coastal development strategy but also from inherent advantages of the eastern coastal area. Since 1999, the development strategy for western China has focused on the injection of large amounts of capital, but fiscal constraints make this strategy unsustainable. China's government should allow mobility of the labor force across regions to play a bigger role in solving the income disparity problem.

The coast zone is one of the most fragile area in Malaysia and can be affected easily due to environmental threats. This study mainly focuses on analysis impact of shoreline changes on coastal development using Geographical Information System (GIS) approach to produce geospatial visualization and identify the changes areas along Sabak Bernam to Kuala Selangor. This study evaluates the shoreline changes using topographic maps in 1993 and SPOT 5 satellite images in 2013. The major findings of this study were the highest impact that caused by erosion was from Sungai Burung to Sungai Panchang Bedena and the development that have been affected in this area for 5 years (2018) and 10 years (2023) ahead were residential area, school and aquaculture activities. However, the lowest impact of erosion was occurred from Sungai Nipah to Sungai Nibong and there was no development affected in the year 2018 till 2023. The results obtained from this study are very important for the government’s future policy and the development strategy along coastal area and at the same time it helping in dealing with the phenomenon of sea level rise and climate change.
