The emergence of technology has shifted so many aspects of people‘ lives including but not limited to the way they interact with each other and accomplish almost all activities. In education context, use of technology has impacted teachers and students‘ interactions both in and outside classroom. For decades now, there has been research on technology use and its‘ benefits on teachers‘ instructional practices and students‘ learning. However, a study specifically looking at the integration of technology into teachers‘ lesson plans is still under research. Therefore, the paper was an attempt to investigate how pre-service English teachers integrated technology in the preparation stage of the instructional activities. The study focused on the evaluation of 22pre-service English teachers‘ lesson plans. It employed a qualitative approach with a document review method. It revealed that the pre-service English teachers have incorporate deducational technology including mobile devices and digital recording. Besides, the most frequently and commonly digital media used were Power Points, audios, videos and online resources downloaded from YouTube. In addition, they made use of communication and collaborative resource such as blogs. Finally, implication for further research is presented

Over the past 15 years a considerable amount of research has been devoted to study of the socioeconomic aspects that affect the use of economic technology in the mathematics classroom. With the call for curricular and instructional reform, educational institutions have embarked on the process to reform their educational practices to aid the urban student in their quest to obtain quality mathematics and science based education with the integration of technology. The study performed was to reexamine the socioeconomic disparities economic in the mathematics classroom as it relates to implementing technology interventions to support quality teaching and active student learning. This article is to provide empirical evidence of whether these disparities continue to exist and their effects on student achievement in the mathematics classroom. The results of this study showed an overall positive relationship regarding the use of technology interventions within the mathematics classroom with levels of student achievement, showing a clear signs of continued disparities within mathematics classroom.

<span>Whilst prior research has identified children as avid users of new technologies, insufficient studies have explored their patterns of use. This paper investigates how New Zealand pre-teens use technology out of school and identifies a typology of technology use. Two hundred and twenty four children between 10 and 12 years of age completed a comprehensive questionnaire about their use of technology. Results indicated that children of this age were immersed in technology related activities. A principal components factor analysis revealed a typology with five distinct factors underlying pre-teen digital behaviour. Two factors showed some differentiation by gender but differences were not evident for socio-economic factors.</span>

The synergy of combining globalization with new technology has had dramatic learning impacts. Teachers and Students need to work together to successfully implement Moodle as one of learning technologies. Author needs to determine factors that are important to use Moodle. UTAUT was created based on the conceptual and empirical similarities across TAM, TAM2 and TAM3 models. UTAUT model attempts to explain how individual differences influence technology use. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) is then used to assess the reliability and validity of the model measures. Exploratory Research is conducted in order to determine the nature of the problem and is not intended to provide conclusive evidence. With Uncontrolled Quota Sampling method, respondents filled Likert-scale questions. Analysis of a Moment Structures (AMOS) is used analyse the data using SEM. All hypotheses is verified through different set of experiments. UTAUT is acceptable of analysing respondents' acceptance in using Moodle. Each construct uniquely affects the output, therefore different strategies can be implemented based on respondents' characteristics. Performance Expectancy is important for Students.

Myriads of theories account for the primacy of digital literacy on ELT as the demand of the 21st century, yet studies on digital media literacy of distinct English teacher generations are thin on the ground. Thus, this descriptive qualitative study investigated the utilization of digital literacy in the EFL classroom of senior high school teachers from two generations (digital immigrant and digital native) and their students’ responses to the use of digital media in the English classroom in Indonesia. Three instruments were utilized including classroom observations, questionnaires, and interviews. Following ACOT’s (Apple Classroom of Tomorrow) framework, the findings show that both teachers were at the adaptation stage in terms of digital literacy and this was reflected on the utilization of digital media in assisting students’ learning. Yet, the digital-immigrant teacher appeared to be practically more adept in the implementation of digital media. As for the second issue, the students responded positively to the use of digital technology by the teachers to make English class more fun and comprehensible. However, when it comes to an ideal teacher, the students still considered good characters as the main criteria for an ideal teacher. Technology does support teachers in delivering the materials, but the way they behave and treat the students still also plays crucial part in maintaining a good relationship between teachers and students. The results show that the English teachers need to develop their digital literacy to keep up with the current demand to be professional English teachers in the digital era.

PurposeThe purpose of this study is to examine the use of digital technologies by teachers and students in teaching and learning from a multimodal layer perspective.Design/methodology/approachThe article reviews 64 studies on technology use. A content analysis based on the theoretical concepts of “multimodal layers” was used to synthesise previous research.FindingsThe findings indicate that the use of technology in classroom practices by teachers and students is multifaceted and that transitions exist between technologies and sign-systems and are differently related to sign-making activities and thus constitute different uses. Between layers, traces can be made that connect the use of technology to differences in sign-making activities.Practical implicationsA multimodal layer perspective on technology use is fruitful to understand what happens at the intersection of technology and human activities in school practices. Moreover, more attention to multimodal layers can inform future effective technology usage and design.Originality/valueThe review offers comprehensive insights on how previous research has studied technology using multimodal layers as an analytical lens.

Technology has transformed interactions among adolescents from face-to-face to instantaneous virtual communication. Yet the use of digital media among adolescents can be potentially harmful with the risk of cyberbullying. While cyberbullying is a growing concern, few researchers have explored cyberbullying experiences among Aboriginal adolescents. The present study addresses this gap by examining qualitative data regarding cyberbullying experiences provided by Aboriginal youth participants between ages 11 and 17 in Aboriginal e-mentoring BC, which was an internet-based mentoring program in the province of British Columbia, Canada. The analysis of the data highlighted 4 themes: (1) perceptions and use of technology, (2) awareness of online safety and netiquette, (3) cyberbullying prevalence, and (4) prevention and coping skills. Transcending these themes was the importance of Aboriginal perspective and knowledge in mentoring and anti-cyberbullying initiatives. The results of the work presented in this study highlight the potential benefit of incorporating online safety and technology use in interventions to promote wellbeing among Aboriginal youth. The study findings on Aboriginal adolescents’ online experiences and perceptions of online safety can assist researchers and Indigenous health providers to better understand the cyberbullying phenomenon.

The objectives of this research are to find out: (1) the description of the implementation of integrated technology in an accelerated program in motivating the students in Makassar senior secondary school, (2) the description of how the teacher maintains the motivation of students through integrated technology at accelerated program in Makassar senior secondary school, and (3) the description of the students’ responses to the implementation of integrated technology in an accelerated program in motivating the students in Makassar senior secondary school.This research is qualitative research which done inSMAN17 Makassar. The participants of this research were a teacher and students of an accelerated program. To collect the data, the researcher used recording and interview with the teachers and students. In analysing the data, the researcher used qualitative method. The findings of this research described (1) The implementation of integrated technology at the accelerated program in SMAN 17 Makassar can be described under several categories: kinds of technology used by the teacher, kinds of application or program used by the teacher, the function of technology, the teacher’s ways to teach by using technology, the teacher’s experience in achieving the technology used, the technology facilitation provided in technology integration, the teacher’s ways in teaching English skills, the use of social media in teaching and learning, the reason of choosing E-Mail, the teacher’s ways to minimize unexpected problem along the use of technology, and the technology influence toward student’s motivation (2) The teacher’s ways to maintain the students’ motivation by using integrated technology can be described two some categories: the reasons underlying the importance of technology and the teacher’s ways of indicating and maintaining the students’ motivation. (3) Students’ responses toward the integrated technology could be stated in positive way, they liked it, they were interested, and they preferred studying by using technology. Keyword: Integrated Technology and Students’ Motivation

With the emergence of multiple technological tools for teaching science such as active boards, mobile devices and tabs, the effectiveness and appropriateness of these tools are yet questionable. Students’ performance in science, especially in the Arab world, is still unsatisfactory as shown by the TIMMS results of 2007 and 2011. In Lebanon, it was interesting to understand what was being done, specifically in elementary schools, to improve students’ outcomes prior to sitting for international exams. The purpose of this study was to explore the perceptions of Heads of private elementary schools, science coordinators, teachers, and students regarding the use of technology, and the extent to which these technologies were enhancing students’ skills. Participants in this study were 164 grade- six students from three private schools in different regions of Beirut, the Lebanese capital. Participants also included three administrators and four teachers of whom three were also coordinators in the corresponding schools. Semi-structured interviews, class observations and questionnaires were used to triangulate the results. Findings revealed that the vision and mission of the school leadership, the teachers’ practices associated with the appropriate integration of technology were key determinants for enhancing students’ perceptions of improvement in reasoning and communication skills in science.

This research-based on technological advances that promote the use of technology in learning, on the lack of valid, practical and effective lesson plans, particularly in problem-based learning models that are in line with the 2013 curriculum, and on the use of Lectora Inspire Software in the creation of lesson plans. This study was conducted to develop a product that is a problem-based learning model based on Lectora Inspire software, and that is valid, practical and effective. This type of research is research and development (research and development). The design of this study based on 5 out of 10 phases of Borg and Gall's research design, namely research and collection of initial information, planning, development of original product formats, initial testing and product improvement. The effectiveness test results were rated as very good if the results of the analysis of the responses of teachers and students with an average of 88% and 89.04% as and the increase (n-gain) of student learning outcomes is 0.62 which can be categorized as a moderate increase.

Digital technology causes rapid changes and transformations in cultural spheres. The new generation consisting of children, teens, and youth is the group most affected by this process. These technological developments in culture have been reflected on cinema, and have taken its place in film scripts in the process of time. If the theme of a film is about post-2000, child characters are seen with the media like laptop, mobile phone, tablet, etc. The aim of this study is to observe the digital media consumption of the teen actors in films. The film Disconnect (2012) by Henry Alex Rubin which focuses on internet and technology use and draws attention on the communication gaps of people was observed by the use of qualitative content analysis. It is fictionalized around the themes like the communication gap among people caused by film technology, the problems that people face by the use of technology, cyber bullying, and invasion of privacy.
