We propose a method by which one could use modified antimatter gravity experiments in order to perform a high-precision test of antimatter charge neutrality. The proposal is based on the application of a strong, external, vertically oriented electric field during an antimatter free-fall gravity experiment in the gravitational field of the Earth. The proposed experimental setup has the potential to drastically improve the limits on the charge-asymmetry parameter ϵ¯q of antimatter. On the theoretical side, we analyze possibilities to describe a putative charge-asymmetry of matter and antimatter, proportional to the parameters ϵq and ϵ¯q, by Lagrangian methods. We found that such an asymmetry could be described by four-dimensional Lorentz-invariant operators that break CPT without destroying the locality of the field theory. The mechanism involves an interaction Lagrangian with field operators decomposed into particle or antiparticle field contributions. Our Lagrangian is otherwise Lorentz, as well as PT invariant. Constraints to be derived on the parameter ϵ¯q do not depend on the assumed theoretical model.

Bermudan swaptions are options on interest rate swaps which can be exercised on one or more dates before the final maturity of the swap. Because the exercise boundary between the continuation area and stopping area is inherently complex and multi-dimensional for interest rate products, there is an inherent “tug of war” between the pursuit of calibration and pricing precision, tractability, and implementation efficiency. After reviewing the main ideas and implementation techniques underlying both single- and multi-factor models, we offer our own approach based on dimension reduction via Markovian projection. Specifically, on the theoretical side, we provide a reinterpretation and extension of the classic result due to Gyöngy which covers non-probabilistic, discounted, distributions relevant in option pricing. Thus, we show that for purposes of swaption pricing, a potentially complex and multidimensional process for the underlying swap rate can be collapsed to a one-dimensional one. The empirical contribution of the paper consists in demonstrating that even though we only match the marginal distributions of the two processes, Bermudan swaptions prices calculated using such an approach appear well-behaved and closely aligned to counterparts from more sophisticated models.

The biotechnological potential of Jerusalem artichoke varieties Novost VIR, Skorospelka, Interes growing in the Krasnodar region and the Adygea Republic, harvest 2011 2018 has been determined. It was found that Jerusalem artichoke tubers of the Interes variety are superior to Novost VIR and Skorospelka varieties in content, : total sugars by 22,41 and 14,34 inulin 41,82 and 32,99 pectin substances 22,39 and 49,75 ascorbic acid 35,27 and 39,29 chlorogenic acid 3,66 and 18,29 orotic acid 88,89 and 84,89, respectively. Variety Interes in comparison with Novost VIR and Skorospelka varieties contains 245,24 and 243,33 less nicotinic acid and 100,00 and 108,33 coffee acid, respectively. The content of histidine in the tubers of Jerusalem artichoke varieties of Interes, Novost VIR, Skorospelka is 132,36 44,83 and 88,21 mg/kg arginine 2017,2 958,56 and 460,44 mg/kg, respectively. In a complex with ascorbic acid, organic acids of Jerusalem artichoke tubers have pronounced antioxidant properties. It was found that as a result of blanching, the antioxidant activity of Jerusalem artichoke of the Interes variety increases by 15,6. Thus, the Interes variety is most promising for processing in public catering facilities.

The years we have just lived through have given us many striking examples of the enormous role that nutrition plays in people's lives. Whichever side of the latter we take, it will reflect the state of nutrition; whichever social phenomenon we measure, the best scale is the number of calories per capita; fertility, mortality, morbidity, marriage rate all these demographic variables fall and rise in parallel with changes in nutritional conditions.

This book focuses on the evolution of object clitic pronouns in the Romance languages. It aims to explore the empirical facets of cliticization and elaborate on the theoretical ramifications of the topic. On the empirical side, the book deals with data ranging from Latin to modern languages and less well-known dialects from all areas of Romance. Medieval vernaculars take centre stage both in the reconstruction of the evolution from Latin to Romance and in the modelling of clitic placement in the modern languages. Syntactic, phonological, and morphological aspects are examined, but the main focus is on syntactic placement, which is the hallmark of Romance clitics. On the theoretical side, the books engage with the previous literature, in particular with Generative literature. In recent decades, our understanding of Romance clitics has grown in symbiosis with the Generative theory, and the importance of most empirical findings cannot be fully appreciated without being acquainted with the terms of the ongoing debate. The book challenges the received idea that cliticization resulted from a form of syntactic deficiency. Instead, it proposes that clitics resulted from the feature endowment of discourse features, which caused freezing of certain pronominal forms first and—through reanalysis—their successive incorporation into verbal hosts. This approach entails revising analyses of well-known phenomena such as interpolation, climbing, and enclisis/proclisis alternations (the so-called Tobler-Mussafia law), and addressing orthogonal phenomena such as V2 syntax, scrambling, and stylistic fronting.
