Este artículo presenta los resultados de la práctica e investigación pedagógicas llevadas a cabo dentro del proyecto de cooperación internacional “Artes, cultura y educación para el desarrollo. Educación y cultura para el empoderamiento personal y social de la comunidad migrante refugiada en Polykastro, Grecia”. Un proyecto realizado en Grecia, 2019, organizado por la Universidad de Sevilla y Open Cultural Center, una ONG que atiende educativamente a la comunidad migrante refugiada de la zona, incluyendo el campo de refugiados de Nea Kavala. De manera metodológica, las prácticas educativas artísticas llevadas a cabo –bajo el título Territorios de la mirada– participan de la herramienta analítica del Enfoque de Marco Lógico, con el objetivo prioritario de procurar una atención a la comunidad migrante para generar identidad, apertura cultural e inclusión social. Igualmente se proponen los objetivos específicos de corroborar y ofrecer posibilidades para elaborar un plan de trabajo educativo inclusivo en el desarrollo posterior del proyecto completo. Se han implementado estrategias de investigación basadas en las artes, logrando una mejor imbricación comunitaria y fortaleciendo la dimensión artístico-cultural, lo cual ha beneficiado a los procesos educativos de la persona migrante refugiada y su comunidad, favoreciendo su inclusión y desarrollo.

Intensive urban development has created a shortage of urban green areas. The need to economically plan and use urban green spaces has fueled the redefinition of public spaces and parks so as to provide the residents with both recreation and relaxation facilities, as well as a forum for contact with culture. This paper discusses the case of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) in the Kallithea district on the outskirts of Athens, near the Mediterranean Sea. It fills a gap in the research on the aspects of the practical functioning of such facilities. The methodology used in the research included an analysis of the literature, the SNFCC’s reports, and an in situ survey. The cultural center hosts a number of events aimed at promoting Greece’s natural and cultural heritage. The paper includes a detailed analysis of the events organized by the SNFCC in the period 2017–2020 and their immense impact on residents. The aim of the study is to show that the creation of the SNFCC with the park areas has functioned as a factor contributing to the improvement of the quality of urban space and the quality of life of the city’s inhabitants. The paper’s conclusions indicate that the sustainable SNFCC project, which fulfils the urban ecology criteria, has been very well received by the visitors—citizens and tourists alike. A program-centered innovation introduced by the SN Park has added great value to their lives. The project contributes to economic and cultural growth, as well as the protection and promotion of heritage.

AbstractIn this paper are presented the studies of the paint materials and the technique used in 18th century wall paintings, originated from the orthodox church of St Athanasius, in the city of Maschopolis, a flourishing economical and cultural center, in Albania. The church was painted in 1745 by Konstantinos and Athanasios Zografi, and during the last years, restoration activities are being performed at the church. Samples that included plasters and pigments of different colors were collected from important points of the wall paintings. Additionally, as some parts of the wall-paintings were over-painted, the analysis was extended to the compositional characterization of these areas. The identification of the used materials was done by using complementary analytical methods such as Optical Microscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM-EDS) and X-ray fluorescence (TXRF).The presence of calcite in almost all the pigments is indicative for the use of the fresco technique at the studied areas, while the detection of gypsum and calcium oxalate, indicates an environmental degradation along with a biodegradation. Common pigments used in this area at 15-16th centuries, such as cinnabar, green earth, manganese oxide, carbon black and calcite were identified.

This study focuses on the performance of air conditioning design at the Dazhi Cultural Center and uses a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation to discuss the differences in wind velocity and ambient indoor temperature between all-zone air conditioning design and stratified air conditioning design. The results have strong implications for air conditioning design and can improve the indoor air quality of assembly halls.

Recently, three major processes are taking place in the urban space of the capital: 1) the process of national transonymization, ie the implementation of the names of newly established, renamed objects on the memorial principle (including national memoranda); 2) historical and cultural process; that is, the reproduction of object names in the nature of a national cultural symbol; 3) the process of national toponymization, ie the acquisition of common nouns. The main purpose of the article is to reveal and identify the Turkic basis of the layer of onymsformed as a result of this process of toponymization – one of the most productive internal resourcedevelopment in the urban space of the capital. That is, by conducting an etymological analysis ofthe system of urbanonymy, to show that the main source of optimized units belongs to the group ofTurkic languages.In the process of toponymization in the space of urbanism of the capital, the share of internalresource development is predominant, ie most of the layer of onyms on its onomastic map wasformed as a result of the Turkic basis. As a result, the urban design of the capital of Kazakhstan hasbecome the only historical and cultural center that meets the principles of language policy andnaming / renaming of the Republic of Kazakhstan. And we understand that the definition of thelayer of onyms in the laws of naming the internal objects of the city will be revealed in more depthby conducting a diachronic study of them.

For the well-received 1990 Bochum Schauspielhaus production of Shakespeare's Timon of Athens, Dieter Hacker, one of Germany's leading artists and stage designers, created fifty-four masks, including the one on the opposite page for Timon himself (Figure I). This mask, Hacker's designs, and photographs of the production were seen in the recent exhibition “Contemporary Stage Design from German and Austria” at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, Lincoln Center, presented in collaboration with the Goethe House and German Cultural Center in New York.
