How and how often do teachers with more or less experience in this field use Information and Computer Technology (ICT) in their lessons and what are their needs in professional development of this field? In order to answer these questions a research regarding Mathematics teachers’opinion at mainstream schools in April 2013 was carried out. Notices inviting teachers of 4–12th forms to answer on-line questionnaires were sent to schools. By analysing the data received the following conclusions were drawn: the obtained data allows to form a general view about the teachers of Mathematics at mainstream schools, peculiarities of their behaviour that are caused by their personal experience in ICT application for self study of students at various ages. The present article also reveals generalised results of the analysis that was carried out; it presents conclusions and recommendations for educational institutions that organise teacher training and their professional development.

The problem of algorithmic thinking development in computer science, computer technology and information technology courses remains relevant despite a lot of research done in the area. The present article is intended to substantiate the mental learning platform for further use of cognitive methods and training tools; it discloses the essence of multidimensional algorithmic thinking and presents mental and embodied (kinaesthetic) programming training tools. The authors arrive at the conclusion that development of multidimensional algorithmic thinking should be carried out through the use of mental algorithmic maps for different styles of thinking, mental and empirical tasks, as well as kinaesthetic simulators. Such training tools involve all channels of perception and greatly contribute to the understanding and better assimilation of “Algorithmization and programming” subject. The results of the research can be useful for computer science teachers at schools and programming teachers at higher educational institutions

Teaching writing in English is one of the principal tasks of English training of students in linguistic higher educational institutions, i.e. of training future teachers of English, translators, and applied linguists. This is due to the fact that written speech is more and more taking the position of the leading form of international communication in English as the global/planetary language of such communication, especially if that communication is professional, and, in particular, the academic one. For students of linguistic higher educational institutions, the main constituent of their English writing training is teaching them English academic writing (i.e. writing academic essays) because gaining command of just such writing skills serves as the basic means of mastering the skills of writing in English the most sophisticated types of written papers, such as professional articles, theses, presentation texts, etc. This kind of teaching only now begins to be researched in Ukrainian methodology of foreign language instruction, while using the project-computer methodology for that has not been researched at all as yet. This was the stimulus for choosing the above-mentioned issue as the subject matter of consideration in this article. It analyzes the project-computer technology developed by the authors and consisting of 12 stages of forming students’ academic essay writing skills in three selected subgenres of such essays (“personal opinion,” “for and against,” “problems and solutions”). All these stages are divided into the stages of off-line (purely project stages) and stages of blended off-line – on-line and purely on-line learning activities (project-computer stages). The characteristics of every stage are discussed and the model of the teaching/learning process in the conditions of using project-computer technology is suggested. The information concerning the practical efficiency of this technology is given. The conclusion is made about the rationality of introducing such a technology into courses of English at both linguistic and non-linguistic higher schools. Research on gender and education in industrialised and developing countries suggests that schools and universities are sites of ‘doing’ rather than ‘undoing’ gender. Deutsch (2007) contends that ‘doing gender’ refers to social interactions that reproduce conventional and limiting notions of gender construction and that ‘undoing gender’ refers to social interactions that reduce gender difference and open up other possibilities. In this paper we consider how educational institutions can be strategic sites of influence in undoing gender and we investigate some ways that gender is ‘undone’ through the example of the work of the Science, Engineering and Information Technology Women’s Group (SEITWG) located in the Faculty of Science and Technology at Federation University Australia. For this purpose, a self-study methodology understood as a professional reflection was used. The paper explores how the informal coalition of SEITWG works as ‘wilful subjects’, on the one hand, coming up against some of the ‘brick walls’ of dominant discourse that attempt to limit women’s participation in STEMM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine). On the other hand, SEITWG attempts to move beyond the restrictions of conventional gender narratives to encourage more women to participate in STEMM by foregrounding the presence of women already active in the area; mentoring women students and staff; supporting a range of their colleagues’ endeavours to research and teach for inclusion; embedding gender analysis into the curriculum; and promoting workplace cultural change.

The relevance of the article is because in parallel with the processes of introduction of innovations in the field of automation and computerization of the banking system, the number of types of banking risks associated with innovations in the field of on-line customer service and internal Bank reporting, as well as information systems. As a result of this article, we have studied the latest legislative acts of the Central Bank of Russia as a mega-regulator and summarized the practice of both individual credit institutions and the banking sector in the field of information technology development risks in the banking sector. To strengthen the development of new financial technologies in the digital economy, it is necessary to regularly discuss the emergence of new phenomena and innovations; to consider the possibility of further analysis of existing methodological developments to exchange best practices of banks. Building an effective it security risk management system is not a one-time project. Still, a complex process is important, focused on minimizing external and internal threats and taking into account the limitations on resources and time factor
