The article presents the results of a study to assess the provision of innovations at enterprises and organizations of the timber industry. The crisis consequences associated with restrictive measures had a significant impact on the timber industry. The changes are primarily related to the transfer of many workers to a remote form of work, the observance of social distance in the workplace. Many business leaders were forced to make management decisions to reduce production capacity. The key component of the developed methodology is the formed deterministic factor model, which reflects the provision of innovations at enterprises, formed on the basis of indicators characterizing the level of innovative development. The study was based on such indicators as the dynamics of research funding in the structure of GDP, the dynamics of costs associated with financing innovative activities, the level of innovative activity, as well as the volume of innovative products. Based on the results of the assessment, it was concluded that pulp and paper enterprises are provided with innovations most of all, against the background of more than a twofold increase in the costs of science and innovation. Then there are woodworking enterprises, where there is a stable low level of innovation provision. The worst situation is demonstrated by furniture enterprises, where a critical level of innovation provision is noted.

The willingness of market-leading companies to have sustainable growth over the past few decades has been significantly complicated by the increasing level of uncertainty of the overall impact of environmental factors in all spheres of economic activity. Macroeconomic instability, sharp fluctuations in the raw material markets, intense industries’ competition, political instability, the multidirectional dynamics of social processes, unpredictable natural and climatic cataclysms of global proportion - all these have significantly impact that complicate the possibilities of forming market development strategies, based on traditional planning approaches that take into account mainly retrospective dynamics. Moreover, the economic instability of the last decade, caused by environments, has shown to significant part of international companies the instability of the chosen strategies for the development of the firm. The dilemma of choosing the direction of strategy is relevant for most companies of Russian and foreign business – managers face the question of choosing the direction of the corporate strategy development of the company, taking into account all the components of the business portfolio. The author studies the evolutionary development of the theory of strategic growth, presents a variety of approaches to the classification of organizational growth strategies, identifies their similarities and contradictions, and give arguments for the traditional growth strategies classification. Strategies of intensive growth, vertical integration, and diversification are attractive for development, but at the same time require certain efforts and resources. In the course of the study, the author conducted research to identify and choose the most optimal growth strategy when the company reach a certain level of stability for dynamic development, identified the basic criteria for choosing the strategic vector of the company's development.

The article analyzes and evaluates the state of forest resources, including the Voronezh region. Based on the assessment and analysis, the following problems of the forestry complex were identified: failure to perform thinning; insufficient investment level; lack of development of the use of forests for the purpose of carrying out recreational activities; wear and tear of vehicles; the lack of information on the markets for the sale of wood from the Voronezh region in other constituent entities of the Russian Federation, here the negative aspects are that almost all the wood of the region is consumed within the region, only a small part of the wood is exported. The main problem of the forestry complex is the lack of a comprehensive information resource (lack of up-to-date forest inventory data in electronic formats; centralized database; inconsistency and dissociation of forest data stored in various information systems of subordinate institutions of Rosleskhoz; lack of reliable information on the volumes of harvesting, turnover and export of timber etc.). In addition to the problems, the article outlines the prospects for the development of the forest complex of the Voronezh region: zoning of the forest fund by the types of planned forest development; formation of forest plots for use and putting them up for auctions taking into account demand; determination of the initial rent, taking into account the demand for forest plots in various forest districts.

The article is devoted to the study of the current stage of technological transformation in the aspect of the leading sectors of the Russian economy, which are crucial in the development and strengthening of the country's position in the global technological leadership. Based on a study of current trends in the technological transformation of industries and statistical data analysis, reflecting the main results of the level of technological transformation of leading industries, the assessment of their development in the use and implementation of digital technologies, the most technologically advanced industries were identified. The determining factors of sectoral specifics of technological transformation at the present stage are sectoral characteristics and provision of innovative solutions, the development of digital infrastructure, which forms the features of the technological transformation of industries, its directions and pace of development. It is noted that industries with a high level of concentration, dominated by large businesses with access to significant investment resources, show greater progress in digitalization, and small and medium-sized enterprises lag behind in the rate of implementation of new digital solutions. The main problems of differentiation of industries in the level of technological development, which acts as a barrier to the implementation and development of digital technology in the economic and social spheres, were identified. Effective solutions in this area must involve the formation of appropriate digital infrastructure, comprehensive measures of state support and regulation of the data market, which will increase the level of technological development of industries, including reducing the technological gap between them.

The article is the result of a study of customs administration in the context of analytical support. The authors analyzed the existing analytical platform of customs administration. The organizational procedure for analyzing foreign trade activities is described on the example of regional customs administrations. The main characteristics of methods and means of analyzing foreign trade activity are presented and disclosed. In the course of the analysis, the problematic characteristics of the existing analytical platform are identified and promising directions of development are formulated in the conditions of digital transformation and the introduction of intelligent technologies into the practice of analytical activities of customs authorities. Based on the established development conditions, the structure of an intelligent digital platform for analytical support of customs administration has been developed. The authors propose a holistic approach to transforming an analytical platform into a cognitive one and formulate recommendations for implementing the approach in practice.

Agriculture support funds is one of the variants for supporting agricultural producers, incl. budgetary functioning, worldwide. The main sources of formation and activities of agriculture support funds (in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Armenia) were analyzed. The research is based on the official information materials for establishment and functioning of such funds (regulatory legal acts, articles of association, corporate documents, financial statements, etc.). The following conclusions were made as the result of the analysis: agriculture support funds may include own capital and attracted resources, investors' facilities and funds of international financial institutions. The main area of activity of agriculture support funds is financing agricultural producers on various bases - lending and microcredit, investments, subsidies, leasing programs. It is possible to distinguish three options for the financial resources movement through agricultural support funds, depending on the role assigned to the fund in this mechanism – source of financial resources, the State agent or investor.

The factors of production and economic activity of the enterprise are considered, which are predictors of diversification and can be used in management as indicators. Diversification of the enterprise is one of the main ways of successful survival of business entities in the modern realities of competition. Nowadays, many organizations are successfully diversifying their activities, flexibly adapting to market conditions and increasing their financial well-being. The algorithm of the process of implementing the related diversification of the production activity of a small enterprise is given. The process of diversification of activities is highly costly, and for small enterprises, a related form of diversification aimed at expanding the range of products is promising. It is scientifically substantiated that this form of diversification is less risky, and requires the involvement of fewer resources of a small enterprise, at the same time, it provides an increase in the effectiveness of activities in a relatively short time interval.

The article raises the question of modeling the level of poverty as one of the most important socio-economic indicators. A review of publications by domestic and foreign scientists-economists proves the relevance of the topic chosen for the study. Today, the time series apparatus acts as one of the popular tools for studying the dynamics of the poverty level and the factors that directly influence it, but classical statistical forecasting methods impose rather strict assumptions on the construction of models. The article discusses the possibility of using automated neural networks of the STATISTICA package for analyzing and forecasting a time series composed of annual data reflecting the dynamics of the poverty level in the Russian Federation over the past 20 years. The study took into account the strengths and weaknesses of the use of the neural network apparatus for predicting socio-economic processes. The construction of economic and mathematical models was carried out by building automated neural networks, custom neural networks and the method of multiple sampling. When choosing the most preferable model, a multidimensional criterion was used. The comparison of the real poverty level with the values obtained using the models is made, the quality assessment of the developed models is calculated, the poverty level forecast for 2021-2022 is constructed.
