They have to remain flexible and continually improve to gain competitive advantage and must be able to adapt and strive to take the lead, otherwise their survival will be at stake. To meet the challenges posed by this rapidly changing environment, an organization must create and assimilate new knowledge at an increasing pace, encourage innovation and learn to compete in new ways. The culture of the organization plays a very significant role in keeping the process of learning vibrant in the organization leading it to become a learning organization. The present paper identifies the relationship between the organization culture and the learning organization in Indian business organizations and concludes that the organization culture plays a vital role in the development of a learning organization. It further contends that three major constructs of organization culture, i.e., openness, proaction and experimentation tend to provide the members of an organization with a sense of direction and creative thinking which in turn enhance organizational learning in turbulent environment.

This chapter discusses the relationship between the business organization and the legal form of multinational enterprises (MNEs). It seeks to answer a crucial question for MNE regulation: where does enterprise control reside, and do MNE legal forms adequately reflect the allocation of decision-making power in the firm? Legal forms may not coincide with the business organization of the firm. This can lead to a mismatch between the firm’s control structures and the legal structures through which the firm is regulated. The chapter then provides an overview of MNEs as business organizations, stressing the rise of new forms of organization based on advances in information technology (IT) and collaborative arrangements between firms. It also considers the main legal forms of the MNE, centred on contractual and equity-based structures, looking at the limitations of these traditional legal forms as regulatory devices. Finally, the chapter studies the interaction between business and legal forms and the issue of regulatory control.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between perceived learning organization culture and core job characteristics in a sample of 264 knowledge workers from four organizations in South Korea. The dimensions of the learning organization questionnaire (DLOQ) and the job diagnostic survey (JDS) were used as measures. The result of a canonical correlation analysis indicated that the composite of learning organization culture (i.e., continuous learning, dialogue and inquiry, team learning, embedded system, empowerment, system connection, and strategic leadership) was modestly but significantly related to the composite of core job characteristics (i.e., variety, identity, significance, autonomy, and feedback), accounting for 34 percent of the shared variance between the two variable sets. More specifically, the effects of dialogue and inquiry, team learning, and system connection in learning organization culture were greater on feedback, autonomy, and task significance in job characteristics for knowledge workers in South Korea.
