Based on the theoretical studies, complete picture of a mechanical processing of sulfur in the disintegrator is given. Kinematic and dynamic characteristics of elastic and inelastic collisions of particles of processed rhombic sulfur with rows of disintegrator fingers are calculated. Based on the analysis of the obtained dependency of the rotation frequency of the rotors offers, advices on selecting optimal conditions for activation milling of α-sulfur in the disintegrator are given. These results can be partially used in the processing of sulfur and in other types of shock grinding devices, in particular, jet mills.

AbstractErbium-doped planar optical amplifiers can find numerous applications in photonic integrated circuits operating at 1.5 μm. The challenge is to fabricate these devices with high gain, operating at low pump power, and having small overall size. In this paper a review is given of our recent work in the area of Er-doped waveguide materials and amplifiers based on three materials classes: oxide films (A12O3, Y2O3, SiO2), polymers, and silicon.

The article provides an analysis of the existing methods and techniques for assessing the dynamic characteristics of engines of mobile machines, and also presents theoretical calculations for estimating the dynamic performance of an machine and tractor unit’s engine under unsteady load. The proposed mathematical model describes the change in the performance of the engine of machine and tractor unit with a linear law of loading and allows you to compare an engine’s operation at unsteady load with the ideal. The quasi-dynamic characteristic was laid as the theoretical basis for study to assess the dynamic performance of machine and tractor unit’s engine under unsteady load. Comparison of the dynamic performance of engines at unsteady load with ideal performance, which have no dynamic losses. It is proposed to apply the “quasi-dynamic” characteristics. The quasidynamic (ideal) characteristic is called - the change in the performance of machine and tractor unit’s engine, in the transition process, occurring in accordance with the change in the frequency of rotation of the crankshaft on the stationary characteristics. The mathematical model for estimating the dynamic performance of an machine and tractor unit’s engine using a correcting branch with an unsteady load is experimental equations for load buildup. Theoretical relationships have been developed for evaluating the dynamic performance of an engine with an unsteady load on the correcting branch of the regulatory characteristic. Using the proposed theoretical dependences, it is possible to carry out theoretical studies of the effect of load on the dynamic performance of an machine and tractor unit’s engine and determine the total dynamic losses.

The incorporation of Si-nc in Er doped silica is known to strongly enhance the infrared luminescence of Er3+ at 1.54µm. The enhancement is believed to be due to an energy transfer process from Si-nc to Er. In this work we investigate the formation of Si nano-aggregates and their role in the energy transfer process to Er3+ ions for a multi-component glass host. These materials can offer better performances than silica in terms of Er solubility and band broadness for integrated Er-doped optical amplifiers and investigation is therefore very interesting for optoelectronic applications. Si and Er were co-implanted by choosing the implantation energies in order to optimize the overlap between the concentration profiles. The precipitation of Si and the enhancement of the 1.54 µm Er emission were studied for different post-implantation annealing temperatures. In particular the optical properties of the glass were investigated by means of photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy and the results are discussed in relation to a standard silica substrate. These data are presented and related to the structural properties of the material. Moreover the implications on the future development of an Er doped optical amplifier are discussed.
