We present the first record of Scinax nebulosus for the State of Sergipe, in the Atlantic Forest, Brazil. Scinax nebulosus is a small hylid which inhabits the Amazon and Atlantic Forest. Its main microhabitat is temporary water bodies in tropical forests. This species can be recognized by the presence of many scattered glandules on the dorsal surface, especially on the head, upper eyelids and margins of the members. Some taxonomic studies and vocals records suggest careful evaluation of the taxonomic status of S. nebulosus along its geographical distribution.

This study report the first record of Allamanda blanchetii Kunth in the Atlantic Forest, Brazil. This species was collected from an upland forest in Semi-deciduous Seasonal Forest. This occurrence adds new information about the distribution of this species and expands its range to Brazil, which is important for its conservation. We provide taxonomic information, distribution maps, conservation status assessment, photograps, and an identification key for the Allamanda L. species in the Atlantic Forest.

Paralactaga williamsi, a five-toed jerboa, is known to occur in Anatolian Turkey, northern Lebanon, Armenia, Azerbaijan and western Iran. Here, we report the first record of this species in Kopet-Dag Mountains, northeastern Iran. Species identification was based on external morphology, skull and molar teeth morphology and morphometrics studies, as well as molecular an­al­yses. Brief notes on the ecology of the species are also provided. This new record expands the distribution of P. williamsi in Iran about 850 km eastward, however further sampling will be needed for a better judgment on the taxonomic status of this species in eastern Iran and to determine the patterns of its distribution. Since the specimen did not group with other P. williamsi in the cytochrome b analysis, we provisionally classify the specimens as P. cf. williamsi.

The genus Xenohyla is currently composed of two species, X. truncata (Izecksohn, 1959) and Xenohyla eugenioi Caramaschi, 1998. Both species are usually found inside bromeliads; X. truncata inhabits the restingas of the state of Rio de Janeiro, southeastern Brazil, and X. eugenioi transitional areas between the Atlantic Forest and the Caatinga biomes in northeastern Brazil. We report the first record of X. eugenioi in the state of Sergipe, expanding the species geographic distribution by 423.4 km in a straight line in relation to its type locality, in the municipality of Maracás, south-central state of Bahia, Brazil.

We present a new record of the Crested Eagle, Morphnus guianensis (Daudin, 1800), a rare forest eagle of the Neotropics on 22 May 2012 at a Cerrado area in Minas Gerais state, southeastern Brazil. The species has only two historical records in the state, both at areas formerly covered by Atlantic Forest. The finding raises the expectations for the maintenance of the species in the state, stressing the fact that this is the first species record in a Cerrado area in Eastern Brazilian states.

The genus Physalaemus is widely distributed over South America, east of Andes. Physalaemus cicada belongs to the Physalaemus cuvieri group, is widely distributed over the Caatinga and is usually found in lentic and/or temporary water bodies. Herein, we extend its geographical distribution providing the first record of Physalaemus cicada for Piauí state, in the municipality of Picos.

Furipterus horrens is an insectivorous bat that occurs from Costa Rica to southeastern Bolivia and southern Brazil, with records in the Amazon, Caatinga, Cerrado and Atlantic Forest biomes. Despite this broad distributional range across South America, the species is currently known from few localities, and its habitat preferences are poorly known. We report the first record of Furipterus horrens for the Tocantins state, northern Brazil, based on four individuals collected in two caves surrounded by Neotropical savanna (Cerrado) in the Aurora do Tocantins municipality.

Despite the huge diversity of Doryctinae, with about 3,000 species estimated, the subfamily also has about 30% of its approximately 205 genera as monotypic. Most of these monotypic genera are known from a few specimens used to describe its species and then remain without further records. Here we were able to enlarge the distribution knowledge of a monotypic genera making the first record of Parsteres pilosus Gadelha, Nunes & Oliveira, 2016, to the Atlantic Forest biome at Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.

We present the first record of Epicadus trituberculatus (Taczanowski, 1872) from the Northeast Region of Brazil. The new record is based on six specimens observed in two areas of montane semi-deciduous tropical forest located in two municipalities: Guaramiranga and Pacatuba, Ceará state, Brazil. Of the six specimens observed we collected manually only three to preserve as voucher material. In Brazil, E. trituberculatus has a wide distribution range, which extends from the Atlantic Forest, Amazon, and Cerrado biomes and the Pampa ecoregion. With the new record there are currently six known species of Epicadus in northeastern Brazil.

O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar novo registro de ocorrência para Ischnocodia annulus (Fabricius), além de fornecer informações sobre plantas hospedeiras e período de ocorrência da espécie. Os besouros foram observados em um fragmento florestal no Oeste do Paraná; trata-se do primeiro registro da espécie para a região Sul do Brasil e para a Mata Atlântica brasileira. Foram notificadas duas novas plantas hospedeiras para a espécie: Cordia trichotoma Vell. Arráb. ex Steud  e Cordia eucalyculata Vell. (Boraginaceae). Os imaturos emergiram na segunda quinzena de setembro e os últimos adultos foram observados no início de dezembro. A emergência dos imaturos ocorre na mesma época que plântulas de C. trichotoma germinam em grande quantidade.Ischnocodia annulus (Fabricius) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Cassidinae): First Record for Brazilian Atlantic Forest, New Host Plants and Considerations about Period of Occurrence Abstract. The objective of this study was making new record of Ischnocodia annulus (Fabricius) and provides information about host plants period of occurrence. The beetles were observed in a forest fragment in Paraná western and this is the first record of I. annulus for the southern region of Brazil and for the brazilian Atlantic Forest. Two new host plants were notified: Cordia trichotoma Vell. Arráb. ex Steud and Cordia eucalyculata Vell. (Boraginaceae). The immatures emerged in the second half of September and the last adults were observed in early December. The emergence of immature occurs at the same time that C. trichotoma seedlings germinate aplenty.

Lasiurus ebenus was known only from the holotype, which was collected in 1991, in an Atlantic Forest remnant of Ilha do Cardoso State Park, southeastern Brazil. The species was described based on qualitative and quantitative morphological features. Since its original description, based on a single individual, the taxonomic status of Lasiurus ebenus has been questioned. Here we report a second record for the species that comes from Carlos Botelho State Park, São Paulo, ca. 100 km north from the type locality. This new record allowed us to confirm the validity of the species, by presenting additional data that fits in the distinction from sympatric congeners proposed on the original description of L. ebenus.
