Field test of particle impact drilling (PID) technology was firstly carried out in deep well and hard formation in Sichuan province china on Oct. 2013. The test formation was named Xu Jiahe, which was very difficult to penetration. Field test result shows that the ROP (rate of penetration) was nearly doubled by this technology. It indicates that there is a profound application prospect of particle impact drilling, especially for hard rock formation. In this paper, the equipment and working principle was analyzed. The experiment and simulation results showed that the rock breaking efficiency was highly increased by this technology. The details of this field test were presented too in this paper that proved the sound effect of PID.

The heat transport capability in an oscillating heat pipe (OHP) significantly depends on the oscillating frequency. An external frequency directly affects the natural frequency in the system. In this investigation, the ultrasound sound effect on the heat transport capability in an OHP was conducted with focus on the ultrasonic frequency effect on the oscillating motion and heat transfer capacity in an OHP. The ultrasonic sound was applied to the evaporating section of the OHP by using the electrically-controlled piezoelectric ceramics. The heat pipe was tested with or without the ultrasonic sound with different frequencies. In addition, the effects of operating temperature, heat load from 25 W to 150 W were investigated. The experimental results demonstrate that the heat transfer capacity enhancement of the OHP depends on the frequency of the ultrasound field, and there exists an optimum combination of the frequencies which will lead to the largest enhancement of the heat transfer capacity of the OHP.

The aim of this study to improve student critical thinking in immune system lesson using the different characteristic of multimedia. There are four characteristics of multimedia to compare in this study such as text (long text an short text), narration (yes or no), sound effect (yes or no), sparkle in animation of multimedia (yes or no).  This study is using the static group pretest-posttest design.  Which compare two type of multimedia that have a different characteristic to improve student critical thinking.  This study is to involved 66 student of science high school attending 11th grade.  They were devided two class; experimen-1 (n=31) and experimen-2 (n=3).  Data was collected from pretest and posttest on immune system lesson.  The result of this study shown that multimedia type 1 could improved student critical thingking on immune system lesson Kata kunci: Karakteristisk multimedia, berpikir kritis, sistem pertahanan tubuh

Nowadays, there are dominantly two ways of producing modified emulsified asphalt ,one of which is to emulsify modified asphalt, the other to modify asphalt emulsion. But they have the same defect that modifier cannot be evenly mixed with asphalt emulsion, which has side effect on the performance of modified emulsified asphalt. The emulsified asphalt and modifier have different traits in structure and property. In order to make the modifier disperse in asphalt emulsion evenly to improve the performance of modified emulsified asphalt, a tentative idea is brought forward: we shall utilize in-situ polymerization and core-shell structure to enhance feature of emulsified asphalt. Core-shell structure is a method of synthesizing composite material, which can assist to achieve sound effect of the two kinds of materials. The point to emphasize is, in this paper, the introduction and feasibility of the method, its specialty against current mainly methods, the difficulties encountered in practice as well as its promising prospect and the anticipated target to achieve will all be illustrated.

Abstract Including the second sound effect, a transfer matrix formulation based on the generalized dynamical theory of thermoelasticity is developed for longitudinal wave component propagation in a thermoelastic layer. The attenuation and propagation properties of one-dimensional thermoelastic wave in both continuum and layered structures are studied using this formulation and the periodic systems framework. Localization of thermal waves is demonstrated in the time-spacial domain by an FFT-based transient analysis. A perturbation analysis tor identifying leading terms in thermal attenuation is performed, and the role of the thermal elastic coupling term in attenuation is determined. The reflection and transmission coefficients between half-spaces are calculated to evaluate the potential practical use of the approach in laser-based nondestructive testing.
