Pandit Nehru affirmed that women development/ empowerment is the basis for the substantial growth of a family, a village, or a nation. Development/upliftment of women is an essential ingredient of human development. Entrepreneurship development among the rural women folk would strengthen the village economy and promote regional development. The women entrepreneurs have proved that there is a source of immense untapped power in the womanhood of India (Margaret, 1992). Women undoubtedly are the backbone of the socio-economic-cultural aspects in the hill scenario. The subsistence agriculture which leads to low and unstable incomes, which in turn lead to a sizeable out-migration of male members that leads to only women headed families behind, and the role of women in the household economy becomes more important (Rawat, 2004). In the midst of limited opportunities, tough terrains and lack of resources, the contribution of women entrepreneurs to the society is enormous. An attempt was made to highlight the strategies and development aspects of rural women entrepreneurs in Almora district. Entrepreneurs who are engaged in self-employment and innovative entrepreneurial activities were selected for the study. A total of 50 samples were selected and the data were collected through interviews and focus groups. The study reveals various aspects related to rural women entrepreneurship and constraints that need attention so to empower women in their efforts toward integral development.

This chapter explores the ways African rural youths and women seek opportunities to innovate and adapt indigenous knowledge as a locally developed resource of community resilience in the attempt to reduce household poverty. The two case groups discussed in this chapter engaged in self-employment enterprises. They drew upon their ecological and cultural knowledge, enabling themselves through shoestring budgets to sustain their livelihood and community wellbeing. The chapter shows that unemployment affects young people and rural women from all occupations and ethnic groups, a situation that puts them in a vulnerable and precarious living condition. The analysis showed that for most of youth found on the Tanzania's streets and urban municipalities, a secondary education has not proven useful in practical knowledge, skills, values or attitudes necessary to enter the world of work or to become self-employed.

One of the major problems in Multiple Listing Service Systems is to find what you want. Number of real estate alternatives on the Internet is thousands. How can customers find the rational alternative on the Internet? Once real estate is found, the customer usually wants to compare alternatives. There are five types of aids to comparison shopping: search on hypertext files by agents, search alternatives on databases, alternative search and tabular comparison, comparison of alternative products and services from multiple malls, search and multiple criteria decision‐making. Therefore, the efficiency of Multiple Listing Service Systems may be increased by applying multiple criteria decision support systems developed by authors. The authors have developed Web‐based Decision Support System for Real Estate (DSS‐RE). Proposed DSS‐RE can create value in next important ways: help customers assess their needs, identify suitable real estate to fulfil needs, compare and evaluate real estate, help customers evaluate the usefulness of the real estate in the after‐purchase evaluation stage, etc.

This chapter examines the ways in which African rural youths and women seek opportunities to innovate and adapt indigenous knowledge as a locally developed resource of community resilience in the attempt to reduce household poverty. Two case groups are discussed in this chapter, and both engaged in self-employment enterprises. The groups drew upon their ecological and cultural knowledge, enabling themselves through shoestring budgets to sustain their livelihood and community wellbeing. The chapter shows that unemployment affects young people and rural women from all occupations and ethnic groups, a situation that puts them in a vulnerable and precarious living condition and possibly in poverty trap. The analysis showed that for most of youth found on the Tanzania's streets and urban municipalities, a secondary education has not proven useful in practical knowledge, skills, values, or attitudes necessary to enter the world of work or to become self-employed.

Research background: Many contemporary empirical studies and most economic growth theories recognize the importance of innovation as one of the most progressive determinants of socio-economic growth, both in the regional and local perspective. However, much of the empirical literature has discussed the issue of innovativeness and institutional environment without the significant results for small enterprises, especially in peripheral regions. Purpose of the article: The aim of this paper is to evaluate the institutional support system and its impact on SME innovativeness in Podkarpackie region. In analyzing this case, we raise the following two questions: (1) what are the types of innovation strategies of SMEs in Podkarpackie? (2) what are the factors affecting innovation and potential barriers to further use of institutional support systems aimed at the implementation of innovation in enterprises? Methods: Based on the empirical research, we have analyzed the data (individual in-depth interviews) and found out how the entrepreneurs, R&D, business environment institutions, regional and local authorities assess the use of programs and projects dedicated to innovation in the scope of the institutional support system and what are the barriers encountered by entrepreneurs that limit the implementation of innovation. Findings & Value added: The results of our research show that institutional sup-port systems mitigate negative consequences of peripheral localization of the enterprises, where specific innovation strategy has no influence on SME assessment of innovation effectiveness. Innovation is too costly, and SMEs are too weak in peripheral regions, therefore there is great need for reasonable and flexible institutional support systems. However, the peripheral situation influences this institutional system itself, strengthening the mechanisms of self-censorship.

The research mainly focuses on the mechanism of designing a Web-based Institutional Support System. The paper is aimed towards enhancing the studying and working experience, reducing the faculty man-hours and increasing the student and faculty satisfaction at Middle East College (MEC). Currently, Middle East College is not having any online platform where students or teachers can register their complaints, provide feedback/suggestions, report lost items, register or search for peer tutors etc. These are just some of the challenges currently being faced by the MEC community. The main objective of the paper is to conduct a study on the challenges faced by the student during their course of study at MEC, to provide a sustainable solution by developing an effective, flexible and versatile online system to automate the current manual procedures and make them easier to monitor, manage and resolve. The research analysis provides an effective tool for identifying the target problems. It focuses on the importance of having a user-friendly system that can be easily operated by people of average intelligence. Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM) is used for the research and development lifecycle as it mainly focuses on the expeditious delivery of the system within the specified time-frame and allocated budget. After considering and analyzing all the literature sources, gathered data and information, it is found that developing this system is an important step towards the betterment of the students and faculty. It not only improves the reputation and performance of MEC but also enhances the studying/working experience at MEC. By using the proposed system, verified users can log-on using their MEC ID’s and password. The Institutional Support System contains various options such as Complaint Registration, Checking Complaint Status, Adding Suggestions/Feedback, Reporting Lost and/or Broken Items, Managing Peer Tutors, etc. You can also generate various reports on complaints, suggestions, and lost items etc. using the system.
