The aim of this study was to check the impact of an intervention program based on peer-tutoring on self-regulated learning of freshmen, as well as on peer tutors. The sample consisted of 102 freshmen (51 experimental group y 51 control group) and 50 seniors from four different university degrees. Self-regulated learning was measured by the Motivated Strategies Learning Questionnaire. After assigning freshmen randomly to either the experimental or control condition, the study adopted a quasi-experimental research design with a non-equivalent control group controlled by statistical techniques, the intervention consisted of 20 individual tutoring sessions highly structured to freshmen delivered by seniors or tutors, after receiving three sessions of training on tutoring. The results yield statistically significant differences in self-regulated learning on participants.

Abstract This article examines the value undergraduate research adds to writing centers in their role as anchor institutions within English and across college and university campuses. It focuses on a pilot project conducted by a team of mentored peer tutors who researched the accessibility of writing at Marquette University. Their successes and failures show how, beyond research findings, undergraduate research experience can be consequential for practitioners and their communities.

Anatomy is a basic science that is important to learn and understand for both clinical students and medical students in general. In addition to studying several biomedical and clinical sciences, a medical faculty student is also required to study and know the anatomical system, where anatomy is one of the mandatory courses that supports science in the health sector, especially to understand the functions in the body. One method that is often used by some universities or colleges when carrying out their anatomy practicum activities is through the Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) method. PAL is a learning method carried out by fellow students and does not involve professional lecturers in the process. This study aims to explore in depth students' perceptions of PAL in the learning process at the Faculty of Medicine, Jendral Achmad Yani University. This study uses an analytical observation method with a descriptive analysis approach, and the results of this study explain that there are various student perceptions regarding the definition and benefits of the PAL method, as well as several factors that influence PAL in the teaching and learning process, including supporting factors such as good communication from students. peer tutors and the material provided by peer tutors is in accordance with the learning objectives. Factors that hinder the PAL implementation process include readiness for implementation, readiness for peer tutors, and readiness for peer tutors. In addition, there are also student perceptions regarding expectations for the implementation of PAL, namely the application of PAL in CSL, the use of technology, and evaluation in its implementation.

The impression of science subjects as difficult and boring lessons has an impact on the lack of motivation in doing math problems. This results in the low achievement of student learning mastery. This activity focuses on the implementation of the C3T method and peer tutoring in an effort to improve students' science learning mastery, in class VIII MTsN 14 Jombang. The results of the activity showed an increase in the learning mastery of class VIII MTsN 14 Jombang students from 6 students to 28 students. The C3T method as a method that emphasizes students to play an active, fast and intelligent role in learning is proven to be able to increase the motivation of all students so that complete learning can be achieved. The peer tutoring method fosters the self-confidence of students who become peer tutors and a sense of togetherness for students who have not yet completed. Background: Medical students in Indonesia are required to pass a national licensing examination (e.g., UKMPPD) as a requirement of graduation and to obtain their certificate of competence. Medical schools prepared their students based on their needs and capacity. The preparation might use different teaching approaches. Undergraduate medicine program in Universitas Gadjah Mada conducts a national licensing examination preparation program facilitated by both faculty members and peer tutors. The peer tutors are newly graduated medical doctors who were recruited and trained. The use of trained peer tutors in a structured program to prepare high-stake examination such as a national examination is considered novel. This paper aims to describe a peer-assisted learning (PAL) approach used to prepare medical students in facing a national licensing examination.Case Discussion: A preparation program using faculty and peer tutors was deployed to prepare final-year medical students for facing the Indonesian national licensing examination. The ratio of sessions facilitated by faculty to peer tutors was 1:2. The preparation included CBT and OSCE training. Sessions with faculty used a medium to large class approach while sessions with peer tutors used a small to medium group approach. Through February 2020, 147 students have participated in the program. A questionnaire was developed to measure agreement that the program was successful and if the tutees were satisfied with various aspects of the program. The tutees responded with high rates of satisfaction to most items on the questionnaire  (responses for all but one item ranged between 72.1% and 90.5% in favorable agreement or satisfaction). The one exception was CBT preparation where the level of satisfaction was lower (54.4% rated CBT favorably). Participants highly valued the involvement and the performance of peer tutors. Conclusion: The use of near-peer assisted learning for national licensing examination preparation has strong potential. Further study is required to investigate the impact of the peer-assisted national licensing examination preparation program on students’ achievement and clinical practice.
