This study aims to determine the factors antecedent of market orientation and its consequences on the performance of marketing in retail catering business services in Surabaya. The population of this study consisted of business owners or managers of catering services in Surabaya. We used non-probability sampling with purposively sampling method. The purpose of the study isdetermining the effect of antedent variable which includes top management support, the dynamics between departments and systems of the organization's strategic orientation also examine market strategies. This research also purposes to determine consequences of market orientation to business performance. Based on these objectives, the statistical test used is SEM (Structural Equation Modelling) with the help of AMOS program. The results of data processing using AMOS can be concluded that top management support positive influence on the strategy of market orientation, dynamics of inter-departmental positive influence on the strategy of market orientation, system of the organization is not a positive influence toMarket Orientation strategy, and we found that market orientation strategy influence significantly to the marketing performance on catering services in Surabaya.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze e-procurement in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and its relationship with top management support, IT obstacles and strategic purchasing and the effect of e-procurement on performance (procurement performance and business performance). Design/methodology/approach The hypotheses were tested using a sample of 199 managers from SMEs in manufacturing. Findings The results indicated a significant relationship between e-procurement in SMEs and top management support, IT obstacles and strategic purchasing. Similarly, the authors found a positive relationship between e-procurement and procurement process performance and business performance. Practical implications The findings stress to SME managers, the need to pay attention to top management support, IT obstacles and strategic purchasing when implementing e-procurement. Similarly, it provides evidence of the benefits of e-procurement on procurement process performance and business performance. Originality/value This study fills a gap in the literature regarding e-procurement in SMEs and its impact on performance. SMEs constitute a significant part of today’s economies and e-procurement can significantly impact the performance of these organizations.

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between pay and benefits, work environment, top management leadership, workload and job satisfaction among academic staffs in a private academic institution in Malaysia. Motivation-Hygiene Theory, Maslow’s Needs Hierarchy theory and Leader-Member Exchange (LMX) theory were used to establish the theoretical framework of this study. Questionnaire survey method was employed to collect data which yielded 82 responses in this study. Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) was used to perform data analysis throughout the study. All study variables were found to have significant positive relationships with job satisfaction among academic staffs in the selected institution. Top management leadership was discovered to have the most significant relationship with job satisfaction. The findings of this research provide a clear message to the top management that leadership plays an important role in enhancing job satisfaction of the academic staffs. Hence, it is suggested that the institution management should adopt appropriate leadership style and establish effective strategies and policies that aim to increase job satisfaction and performance of the academic staffs.
