Occupational health and safety (OHS) systems are designed to identify and minimize risks at the workplace. A thriving business community should seek to create jobs, wealth, good leadership, safe, and healthy working conditions that are essential for production of goods and provisions of services. Therefore, managers have a legal and moral duty to safeguard the health and safety of those who work for them, and the exercise of these duties needs to be seen as central to the role of leadership. There is a growing interest among researchers and organizational practitioners about occupational safety in recent years. The chapter provides an exhaustive discourse on the relevance of occupational health and safety systems in modern day workplaces as well as the nexus between management leadership and occupational health and safety. It highlights the guiding principles to leadership and key issues in efficient administration of OHS. The chapter concludes by recommending the role leaders should play to improve safety and health in the workplace.

COVID-19 has proven to be a humanitarian crisis. The global economy has come near about a standstill with the spread of coronavirus, as restrictions are imposed to impact the spread of virus. The problem is a terrific problem, which has many unforeseen consequences. And we require a commander or a leader who can steadily see us through this. Leadership is very important element for crisis management. Leadership is the key component factor in shaping the crisis management. This paper provides a view and understanding of pandemic style of leadership. It is realized that COVID-19 is a complex problem, which represents varied challenges, and with challenges comes opportunities and strategies for the leaders. In this paper, researcher has proposed practices to be exemplified by the leaders (with the perspective of COVID-19 pandemic). The aim of this paper is to provide insights on the aspects of leadership in context of COVID-19 pandemic.

The aim of the research is to identify the role of administrative leadership in achieving the dimensions of the success of small projects’ management in the general company of foodstuff industries. The various variables have shown the importance of managerial leadership to achieve the dimensions of the success of the management of small projects, whether in international or local companies. The role of managerial leadership in the success of the management of small projects "In order to answer this question, has been developed a default model reflects the relationship and impact between management leadership and the success of the management of small projects. The research was based on descriptive analytical approach. The sample of the study consists of (48) Managers of departments and divisions where the research reached a number of results; the most important one is the existence of a relationship between the leadership of innovation and the success of the management of small projects in the company investigated if the relationship is positive and strong. The results led to a set of recommendations, the most important one is the necessity for the company under study to get benefit from the evaluation of the company’s leaders from time to time in order to achieve the dimensions of the success of managing small projects.

The leadership model needed in times of crisis is a specific leadership model, because crisis conditions can separate effective leaders from ineffective leaders so that the handling of crisis conditions will also only be effectively carried out by leaders with a certain set of qualifications and characteristics. It takes expertise in management leadership so that it can survive in crisis conditions.

Context: Worldwide, there is growing interest in equipping pharmacy graduates with the requisite skills to assume responsibilities related to management and leadership in the profession. To meet this need, the required course “Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Administration in Pharmacy” is provided as a culminating experience for pharmacy students. Description of course: In this course, students learn concepts related to management, leadership, and entrepreneurship and complete assignments including financial statement exercises, human resources management simulations, personal leadership development plans, and business plan projects with professional poster presentations. The course in its current form has been offered four times to 541 students. Evaluation: Student evaluations (n=214) show the course is well-received and provides opportunities to develop knowledge and skills not covered previously. As the pharmacy profession is constantly evolving, students need a strong foundation in management, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Sharing experiences from this course will aid faculty at other institutions wanting to include similar topics in their curriculum.

This article focuses on the implementation of Shariah-based Quality Management System (QMS) MS 1900 in Melaka State Syariah Court (MSSC) which is one of the earliest Syariah Courts being certified with the MS 1900 QMS. This study was conducted with a case study strategy that uses a semi-structured interview technique involving 11 informants consisting of top management and the committee members at MSSC. Findings of this study were discovered by employing thematic analysis techniques with the help of Atlas.ti software 8. The findings indicated that there were 13 steps in the implementation of MS 1900 MSSC that is start work on ISO 9000, top management leadership, visits to benchmark institutions, the establishment of special committees, resource management, documentation, procurement and supply, Management Review Meeting (MRM), continuous improvement, internal audit, external audit and services at MSSC. The findings of this study can help other institutions to get guidance to start MS 1900 implementation of pending successfully certified by SIRIM. .

Abstrak: Tujuan dari penelitan ini adalah melakukan benchmarking untuk meningkatkan kinerja organisasi profesi pendidikan dengan studi kasus di Ikatan Guru Raudhatul Athfal (IGRA) Kabupaten Sumedang ke IGTKI Pekalongan. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Benchmarking ini dilakukan melalui competitive benchmarking, dalam hal kualitas output. Tahapan benchmarking yang dilaksanakan oleh IGRA Kabupaten Sumedang yaitu tahap perencanaan, tahap pengumpulan data, tahap analisis data dan tahap adaptasi. Indikator evaluasi diri sangat penting sehingga tujuan yang diharapkan untuk meningkatkan mutu tercapai. Dari hasil evaluasi diri ditentukan bahwa hal yang perlu dilakukan benchmarking oleh IGRA Sumedang adalah tentang pengelolaan keuangan, manajemen kepemimpinan dan sumber daya manusia. Benchmarking yang telah dilaksanakan PD IGRA Kabupaten Sumedang mendapatkan hasil dengan terwujudnya gedung sekretariat dalam jangka waktu kurang lebih 3 tahun, etos kerja pengurus semakin meningkat, kelengkapan sarana dan prasarana organisasi serta transparasi dan akuntabel laporan keuangan. Abstract: The purpose of this research is to conduct benchmarking to improve the performance of educational professional organizations with a case study at the Raudhatul Athfal Teachers Association (IGRA) Sumedang Regency to ITGKI Pekalongan. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Benchmarking is done through competitive benchmarking, in terms of output quality. The benchmarking stages carried out by IGRA Sumedang Regency are the planning stage, the data collection stage, the data analysis stage and the adaptation stage. Self-evaluation indicators are very important so that the expected goals to improve quality are achieved. From the results of the self-evaluation, it was determined that the things that need to be done by Benchmarking by IGRA Sumedang were about financial management, leadership management and human resources. The benchmarking that has been carried out by PD IGRA Sumedang Regency has resulted in the realization of a secretariat building within a period of approximately 3 years, the work ethic of the management has increased, the completeness of organizational facilities and infrastructure as well as transparency and accountability of financial reports.

Purpose: Operational excellence as a response to quality crises emerged in the 1980s with growing recognition. The concept that predominantly existed in manufacturing industries slowly shifted to other industries. This review addresses the concept of operational excellence for quality beyond industry specificity.Recent findings: The strive for operational excellence is on but lags in metrics and indicators. Innovative approaches are still underway. The positive development is that operational excellence is gaining more leadership attention for quality gaps.Summary: Operational excellence is not a destination but a culture of an organisation for continuous improvement, lean management, leadership support, exponential technology advancement, training and developing employees, teamwork, and collaboration with patientcenteredness as the main focus
