Despite the diversity of social situations in which cats live, the degree to which free-ranging cats (FRCs) are social is still debated. The aim of this review is to explore the literature on the social behavior of FRCs. A search of two major databases revealed that observations of intraspecies and interspecies social interactions have been conducted. The intraspecific social dynamics of FRCs differ based on group of cats surveyed. Some groups display strong social bonds and preferential affiliations, while other groups are more loosely associated and display little to no social interaction. Factors impacting FRC conspecific interactions include cat body size, cat social rank, cat individuality, cat age, relationship to conspecific (kin/familiar), cat sex, level of human caretaking, presence of food, the health of the individual, or sexual status of conspecifics. Interspecies interactions also occur with humans and wildlife. The human’s sex and the weather conditions on the day of interaction have been shown to impact FRC social behavior. Interactions with wildlife were strongly linked to the timing of cat feeding events. These findings support the idea that FRCs are “social generalists” who display flexibility in their social behavior. The social lives of FRCs exist, are complex, and deserve further study.

Business interaction is important for innovation performance but may be challenging in cross-border regions. The objective of this research was to investigate the relation between factors that define cross-border business interaction and innovativeness. From the cross-border regional innovation systems literature, we operationalized thirty-five factors which potentially influence cross-border business interaction; these factors concern availability of science and knowledge bases, socio-cultural proximity, accessibility, institutional set-up, and governance. We conducted a survey focusing on these factors and analyzed the data using Cronbach’s alpha and linear regression. The cross-border interaction factors identified in the survey results served as independent variables and the differences in innovativeness levels in different European cross-border regions served as our dependent variable. This study confirmed that differences in innovativeness levels between countries can be related to factors hindering cross-border business interaction.

Background: We investigated melanogenesis- and anti-apoptosis-related melanoma factors in melanoma cells (TXM1, TXM18, A375P, and A375SM). Objective: To find melanoma associated hub factor, high-throughput screening-based techniques integrating with bioinformatics were investigated. Methods: Array CGH analysis was conducted with a commercial system. Total genomic DNAs prepared individually from each cell line with control DNA were properly labeled with Cy3-dCTP and Cy5-dCTP and hybridizations and subsequently performed data treatment by the log2 green (G; test) to red (R; reference) fluorescence ratios (G/R). Gain or loss of copy number was judged by spots with log2-transformed ratios. PPI mapping analysis of detected candidate genes based on the array CGH results was conducted using the human interactome in the STRING database. Energy minimization and a short molecular dynamics (MD) simulation using the implicit solvation model in CHARMM were performed to analyze the interacting residues between YWHAZ and YWHAB. Results: Three genes (BMP-4, BFGF, LEF-1) known to be involved in melanogenesis were found to lose chromosomal copy numbers, and Chr. 6q23.3 was lost in all tested cell lines. Ten hub genes (CTNNB1, PEX13, PEX14, PEX5, IFNG, EXOSC3, EXOSC1, EXOSC8, UBC, and PEX10) were predicted to be functional interaction factors in the network of the 6q23.3 locus. The apoptosis-associated genes E2F1, p50, BCL2L1, and BIRC7 gained, and FGF2 lost chromosomal copy numbers in the tested melanoma cell lines. YWHAB, which gained chromosomal copy numbers, was predicted to be the most important hub protein in melanoma cells. Molecular dynamics simulations for binding YWHAB and YWHAZ were conducted, and the complex was predicted to be energetically and structurally stable through its 3 hydrogen-bond patterns. The number of interacting residues is 27. Conclusion: Our study compares genome-wide screening interactomics predictions for melanoma factors and offers new information for understanding melanogenesis- and anti-apoptosis-associated mechanisms in melanoma. Especially, YWHAB was newly detected as a core factor in melanoma cells.

Abstract Tannin is one of the essential components that determine the quality of herbal tea products. This research aims to conduct a quantitative tannin assay of Gyrinops tea with different leaf sampling locations and processing methods. Factorial Completely Randomized Design was used as an experimental design with two treatment factors. The first factor is sampling location (Kekait, Lingsar, and Pejaring). The second factor is the processing method (Fresh leaves and Dried leaves). A titrimetric method with KMnO4 and Indigo carmine reagent was used for quantitative tannin measurement. ANOVA and DMRT at a 5% significant level were used for tannin concentration analysis. The result indicated that the first, second, and interaction factors significantly affected tannin concentration. Drying the G. versteegii leaves could increase the tannin concentration of the Gyrinops tea product. G. versteegii leaves taken from Kekait have shown highest tannin concentration among other regions. It could be concluded that dried G. versteegii leaves Kekait could produce Gyrinops tea with high quality based on tannin concentration measurement.

Air pollution is the major environmental pollution that contains different types of gases, dust particles, small molecules, etc. Smoke and other hazardous gases, such as carbon, sulfur, and nitrogen oxides, are the primary causes of air pollution. Otherwise, air pollution is the contaminated air that poisonous effect on people's health. Most air pollution is affected by auto-rickshaw drivers. Auto drivers doing very stressful works which have been associated with environmental interaction factors. So the auto drivers are working within the environment, auto drivers are exposed to climate changes and poor road conditions. So the drivers are exposed to air pollution, dust, droplets, job insecurity, noise and vibration, business demands, damage to equipment, an excessive number of stops, schedule-related pressure, among others. Drivers’ social role is also reflected in the responsibility of passengers and pedestrians ‘lives and other vehicles.

In bacteria, the monopolar localization of enzymes and protein complexes can result in a bi-modal distribution of enzyme activity between the dividing cells and heterogeneity of cellular behaviors. In Shewanella putrefaciens, the multidomain hybrid diguanylate cyclase/phosphodiesterase PdeB, which degrades the secondary messenger c-di-GMP, is located at the flagellated cell pole. Here we show how PdeB polar recruitment is mediated by direct interaction between the inactive diguanylate cyclase (GGDEF) domain of PdeB and the C-terminal FimV domain of the polar landmark protein HubP. We demonstrate that this interaction is crucial for full function of PdeB as a phosphodiesterase. Thus, the GGDEF domain serves as a spatially controlled on-switch that effectively restricts PdeBs activity to the flagellated cell pole. We further show that PdeB regulates abundance and activity of at least two crucial surface-interaction factors, the BpfA surface adhesion protein and the MSHA type IV pilus. The heterogeneity in c-di-GMP concentrations that is generated by differences in abundance and temporal polar appearance of PdeB as well as by bi-modal distribution after cell fission orchestrates the population behavior with respect to cell-surface interaction and environmental spreading.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate the impact of buyer-seller interpersonal interactions on the purchase intention of buyers, incorporating swift guanxi as a mediator.Design/methodology/approachBased on survey data obtained from 336 Taobao Live users, PLS techniques were used to test hypotheses.FindingsSwift guanxi exists in buyer-seller interactions and matters, as it drives buyers' purchase intention in live stream shopping. Perceived expertise, perceived similarity and perceived likeability are found to be the three essential interpersonal interaction factors promoting the formation of swift guanxi. Perceived familiarity is also found to be significant but to a lesser extent. In addition, all these interpersonal interaction factors are found to significantly affect purchase intention through the mediation of swift guanxi.Originality/valueSwift guanxi has been less explored in live stream shopping. This study takes the lead in empirically examining the mediating role of swift guanxi in the relationship between interpersonal interaction factors and purchase intention and offers a description of key buyer-seller interpersonal interaction factors (perceived expertise, perceived similarity and perceived likeability), thereby helping to extend the swift guanxi literature in social commerce.

The convergence of the digital economy and real economy is an irreversible trend. This article uses the adjusted Logistic coevolution Model as the main tool to study the interaction factors in the convergence concentrating on conducting the empirical research by using four dimensions data from 2005 to 2019 in China to calculate the intrinsic growth rate, the maximum environmental capacity, the coevolution factors and other key indicators. The study could further simulate and predict the coevolution of the digital economy and real economy under various modes, in attempt to explore an objective reference and theoretical basis for the convergence in China, which could help to fill the research gap to some extent.
