ABSTRACT Objective: describe the skills of nurses to conduct family interviews based on the Family Care Guide for Nursing Clinical Practice. Method: exploratory case study that analyzed the content of 16 guides applied to a child emergency service by a novice nurse from the family nursing area. Results: the records indicated the presence of perceptual, conceptual, and executive skills required to conduct family interviews, in particular skills for the development of genograms, therapeutic relationships, and actions to fulfill family needs. Final considerations: the Family Care Guide for Nursing Clinical Practice is a useful tool to guide the training processes, promote the development of family interview skills in novice nurses, and allow the cognitive consolidation of essential elements of patient- and family-centered care.

<p><strong>Objective</strong>: The  purpose  of  this  case  study  was  to  analyze  the  oral  hygiene intervention performed by  nurse  in  stroke  hemorrhagic  patient  in  neurological  ward</p><p> </p><p><strong>Methods:</strong> .Oral hygiene interventions were performed by using 0.2% chlorhexidine twice daily for seven days. This case study used oral health assessment tool (OHAT) which the measurements were taken before and after the intervention every day</p><p> </p><p><strong>Results</strong>: There was a decrease in oral hygiene assessment score from 9 to 1 which implied an improvement in oral hygiene condition. This study also showed that family of stroke patient was able to perform oral hygiene practice to the patient after simulation performed firstly by nurses</p><p> </p><p><strong>Conclusion</strong>: The study recommends that oral hygiene by using 0.2% chlorhexidine needs to be delivered routinely by nurses and continues by the family at home care.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Keywords</strong>: chlorhexidine 0.2%, oral hygiene, stroke.</p>

Background: Learning clinical practice in a hospital is one of the learning methods used to provide competent nurse assistance. Students who first underwent clinical learning has a level of preparedness that different from each other. Objective: This study aims to identify and analyze the factors that influence the readiness of School of Health Sciences Panti Rapih students to take part in learning the first practice of clinical nursing. Methods: The research was a quantitative analytic survey research using cross sectional approach. The population in the study were students of Nursing Diploma Study Program in School of Health Sciences Panti Rapih Yogyakarta. The sample in this study were all second semester students of Nursing Diploma Study Program at School of Health Sciences Panti Rapih Yogyakarta, who were still active and fulfilled the requirements to attend nursing clinical practice. The research instruments was prepared and developed by researchers and have been tested for validity and reliability with the results of all valid and reliable measuring tools. Results: The first physical readiness of students in learning clinical nursing practice was moderate readiness with 59 respondents (60.8%). Mental psychological readiness of students in attending the first clinical nursing practice learning that states ready as many as 54 respondents (55.7%). Material readiness of students in attending nursing clinical practice learning the first 97 respondents (100%) said they were ready. There is a correlation between physical preparation with mental-psychological readiness with low correlation with a Correlation Coefficient value of 0.273 and a significance value of p = 0.007. There is aminimum correlation between physical preparation and material readiness with a Correlation Coefficient of 0.137 and a significance value of p = 0.187. There is no correlation between mental psychological preparation with material readiness with a Correlation Coefficient value of 0.142 and a significance value of p = 0.16. There is a correlation between age and mental-psychological readiness with a low correlation level with a Correlation Coefficient of 0.302 and a significance value of p = 0.003. Conclusion: Research data on physical readiness, psychological mental readiness and material readiness show that more than 50% of respondents are ready. The results of the analysis show that the first factor influencing students in learning clinical nursing practice is age with a value of p = 0.003 then physical preparation with a value of p = 0.007.     Keywords: readiness, clinical learning, students

Abstract : The Students that would do clinical practice generally have varying levels ofanxiety, starting from no anxiety, light, medium, and serious. The coping mechanisms ismedhid for resolve the stressed and anxiety. Aimed research to determine whether there is acorrelation of coping mechanisms with anixiety to regular semester III Nursing ScienceProgram Faculty Of Medicine who will attend nursing clinical practice. Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatancross sectional study. Hasil penelitian dengan uji statistik chi-square didapatkan adahubungan mekanisme koping dengan kecemasan pada Mahasiswa Semester III Program StudiImu Keperawatan Fakultas Kedokteran Yang Akan Mengikuti Praktek Klinik KeperawaranTerpadu dengan P = 0.000. Kesimpulan mayoritas Mahasiswa Keperawatan Semester IIIreguler Universitas Sam Ratulangi Manado memiliki mekanisme koping adaptif dan tingkatkecemasan sedang dengan adanya hubungan mekanisme koping dengan kecemasan padaMahasiswa Semester III Program Studi Imu Keperawatan Fakultas Kedokteran Yang AkanMengikuti Praktek Klinik Keperawaran Terpadu.Kata kunci: Mekanisme Koping, Kecemasan

Aim: to identify diagnoses, interventions and expected nursing outcomes for the child with Pompe disease using the International Classification for Nursing Practice® 2017. Method: case study conducted in December 2017, with a mother of child with Pompe disease. Results: seventeen nursing diagnoses were presented, distributed among the demands of medicated, technological, habitual, modified, developmental, and family care. Discussion: the nursing diagnoses were related to the treatment and complications presented by the child as a result of Pompe disease, increased by the family needs to develop the care at home. Conclusion: it was verified that the classification of the nursing practices allowed creating more specialized possibilities to elaborate and execute a care plan based on the real needs of this child, allowing the possibility of generalization for the patients with the same disease.
