ABSTRACT Objectives: to describe the construction and validation process for a mobile application for development of the nursing history and diagnosis. Methods: methodological study conducted in 2018 in three stages: content creation, based on the Basic Human Needs categories and nursing diagnoses; content assessment by nine nursing judges, with calculation of the content validity index; and construction of the application, which included definition of the requirements, a conceptual map, implementation and prototyping options, tests and implementation. Results: the application was organized by sections: Grouped Basic Human Needs, Cranial pair tests, Clinical assessment scales and Additional tests. Two section were adjusted according to the judges’ suggestions. Final Considerations: it is the first application produced in Brazil based on the Basic Human Need categories, which enables quick access to information, concepts and typical nomenclatures of semiology, recording of clinical data and definition of nursing diagnoses.

This paper applies the Human Needs Theory to Uighur terrorism. The theory posits that people become violent when their basic human needs are unfulfilled, denied, or taken away from them. Also referred to as the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), Uighur terrorists are a minority group of Muslim extremists in the western Chinese Autonomous Region of Xinjiang. Until the mid-1700s, they were considered a peaceful group, but when they lost their autonomy during the Qing dynasty rule (until 1910), and faced oppression by their new government, they resorted to violence. In this case, the Uighurs’ human need “stolen” by the Chinese was their identity. Not only is the Uighur issue underrepresented in the media; it has also received such negligible attention that most governments and scholars believe that the Autonomous Region of Xinjiang is mostly occupied by terrorists.

Abstract Objective: To identify the main nursing diagnoses and interventions in children in the immediate postoperative period of palatoplasty. Method: Documentary and retrospective study, developed in a Brazilian public and tertiary hospital, between August and September 2020. Children who underwent only palatoplasty, between January and December 2019, aged between 10 and 24 months, were included. Those with medical syndromes and/or comorbidities were excluded. The Theoretical Framework of Basic Human Needs and the NANDA International and Nursing Interventions Classification Taxonomies were used. Data underwent descriptive statistical analysis. Results: The sample consisted of 126 children. Psychobiological needs such as oxygenation, hydration, nutrition, elimination, cutaneous-mucosal and physical integrity, pain and environmental perception predominated. Based on them, nine nursing diagnoses, with four focusing on the problem and five on risk, as well as 17 interventions, were identified. Conclusion: The use of standardized languages to identify affected human needs and, based on them, diagnoses and interventions, favored clinical reasoning for the construction and organization of clinical nursing practice.

ABSTRACT Objective: To construct nursing diagnosis statements based on the International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) for people with metabolic syndrome, settled on the theoretical framework of Basic Human Needs. Method: Descriptive study developed in four stages: 1) Identification and validation of terms relevant to care with health priority; 2) Cross-mapping of the terms identified with ICNP® terms; 3) Construction of the nursing diagnosis statements; and 4) Cross-mapping of constructed statements with the ones in ICNP®. Results: Regarding terms extracted, 370 were validated based on the consensus (100%) among specialists, subsidizing the elaboration of 52 nursing diagnosis statements from ICNP® version 2015, distributed among the Basic Human Needs proposed by theoretical framework. Conclusion: It was possible to construct nursing diagnoses for people with metabolic syndrome based on the terms extracted from the literature, with a predominance of the need for “Health education and learning”.

ABSTRACT A theoretical-Reflective study with the objective to reflect on human needs regarding the imbalance of whole blood donors considering adverse reactions to the donation, and the existing nursing diagnoses that best meet the imbalance needs. The following needs were pointed out according to the signs and symptoms of adverse reactions and based on the Theory of Basic Human Needs: skin and tissue integrity, emotional security, pain perception, body mechanics, oxygenation, physical integrity, physical comfort, elimination, neurological, electrolytic and vascular regulation. By observing NANDA International’s Definitions and Classifications, adaptations to the existing nursing diagnoses and suggestions for new headings have been proposed. We conclude that some of the needs are interrelated, such as vascular regulation, oxygenation and physical integrity. Thus, more contextualized nursing diagnoses related to the needs of whole blood donors are needed, given the specific nature of the situation generating imbalances such as: ineffective systemic vascular regulation characterized by self-reported dizziness, cutaneous pallor and arterial hypotension related to vasovagal reaction.

ABSTRACT Objective: to identify Nursing diagnoses in patients in home care by cross-mapping terms obtained in the anamnesis and clinical examination, with NANDA-I Taxonomy. Method: descriptive exploratory study, transversal type, performed with 131 patients from a home health care program in northern Minas Gerais State. With the aid of an instrument based on the theoretical model of Basic Human Needs, the terms indicators of conditions that required nursing interventions were extracted. The cross-mapping of these terms was also performed with NANDA-I Taxonomy diagnoses. Results: 378 terms and expressions referring to 49 different diagnoses were identified in 11 of the 13 domains of NANDA-I Taxonomy. Conclusion: the profile of identified nursing diagnoses can contribute to care management and organizational processes of nurses who provide care to patients in home care.

Satisfaction in fulfilling what someone want to consume is the measure of happiness. Such shopping now becomes an endless human need. Herein lies the consumption in the sense of altering “consumption as necessary” into “consumption as wants”. In this case, it is intended that one’s motivation for spending is no longer to meet basic human needs, but rather to relate to their identity. This proves that the culture of consumerism has changed the pattern of people’s dependence in consume. This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the pattern of consumption of modern society in terms of Islam; especially Imam al-Ghazali in Ihya ‘Ulumuddin. The conclusion of this study is that Al-Ghazali laid the foundation of a Muslim's life by attaining the goal of the salvation of the hereafter. As for one way to achieve the purpose of the Hereafter by running the consumption activity based on Islamic sharia.

Nursing diagnoses of alcoholics admitted in a health unit.Abstract: Descriptive and quantitative research in order to identify nursing diagnoses and the congruence of his writing in relation to NANDA International and to correlate them with basic human needs. From medical records of 131 alcoholic admitted to hospitals, we verified the presence of 72 distinct diagnoses. The most common was “risk for falls” (12.2. The physiological needs were most affected.
