CONTEXT: Gastric stump cancer after gastric resection is a well-known disease. It may be a newly developed cancer after resection due to benign disease, or recurrent or residual disease after oncological surgery. The predominant histological type is usually adenocarcinoma. This study aimed to report on a rare occurrence of a mixed adenoneuroendocrine carcinoma (MANEC) on the gastric stump. CASE REPORT: The case of an 83-year-old female who presented a locally aggressive gastric stump MANEC, 35 years after Billroth II gastrectomy to treat a peptic ulcer, is reported. The patient underwent resection and adjuvant therapy. She has been followed up for one year without signs of recurrence. CONCLUSION: MANEC is a rare type of gastrointestinal neoplasm. The classification, histopathology, clinical features, treatment issues and prognosis are discussed along with a brief review of the literature.

Inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) is a rare type of breast cancer that is associated with poor outcomes compared with non-IBC. Overexpression of HER2 is enriched in IBC, and those with HER2-positive disease have a relatively favorable prognosis, with improved survival over the last two decades driven by the advent of novel targeted therapies. Here, we present two patients who have survived for over 10 years after being diagnosed with de novo metastatic HER2-positive IBC. We review the data for the treatments available for metastatic HER2-positive IBC and the evolving treatment recommendations for this disease.

The Authors report a case of vesical hemangioma; it was typical for site and clinical presentation whereas the age of onset and gross appearance were atypical. A TUR biopsy was performed without complications, but did not confirm diagnosis. A partial cystectomy was performed. A one-year follow-up, negative for recurrence, confirmed this procedure as the definitive treatment of choice.

ABSTRACT Cesarean scar ectopic pregnancy is becoming increasingly common in tertiary care hospitals. Cesarean scar pregnancy is a rare type of ectopic pregnancy associated with complications, such as uterine rupture, uncontrollable bleeding which may lead to hysterectomy and increased maternal morbidity and mortality and subsequent infertility. Options available for treatment, such as dilatation and curettage, excision of trophoblastic tissues using laparotomy or laparoscopy, systemically administered methotrexate, and more recently uterine artery embolization. We report two such cases between 2012 and 2013 managed conservatively. How to cite this article Boraiah S, Varma T, Shankar K. AbstractThe study presented a case of a patient with a glomus tumor of the stomach, a mesenchymal neoplasm manifesting with upper gastrointestinal bleeding (Forrest IB). The patient was operated twice. First, he underwent elective laparotomy, during which Billroth I (Rydygier’s method) gastric resection was performed. This his was followed by Billroth II resection with Braun’s anastomosis. Histopathological examination revealed glomus tumor tissue. Literature data on the glomus tumor of the stomach are presented.

Extra pulmonary tuberculosis accounts for less than 15% of all cases of tuberculosis whereas the Intestinal one constitutes less than 1% of the extrapulmonary forms of the disease. The lesions of abdominal organs are more common while they rarely occur in the anoperineal area for the spread of the disease to the anus is extremely rare. We report a case of a 37-year-old male patient with large bilateral infected perianal tubercular ulcerations as well as pulmonary and peritoneal tuberculosis. The treatment was both surgical and medical and the therapy lasted for seven months. After six months from the beginning of the treatment, the lesion had totally disappeared and there is still no recurrence after one year of followup. Tuberculosis should generally be taken into consideration in the differential diagnosis of the ulcerative lesions of the anal and perianal regions for these lesions do occur in the said areas despite their rarity. The treatment is usually both surgical and medical so as to get excellent results.
