SUMMARY Relationships among bioassay, radioimmunoassay (RIA) and disc electrophoretic assay methods of estimating rat prolactin in pituitary tissue and incubation medium were determined. Highly significant correlations were obtained between disc electrophoretic and RIA estimates of prolactin in tissue and between bioassay and RIA estimates of prolactin in medium. Less significant relationships were obtained between disc electrophoresis and RIA (medium) and between bioassay and disc electrophoresis (tissue and medium). The relationship between bioassay and RIA of prolactin in the incubated tissue was not significant. Regression analysis disclosed the following: the RIA measured slightly more, and the bioassay detected substantially more prolactin in tissue and medium than did disc electrophoresis; the bioassay detected about five times more prolactin in medium than did the RIA. No significant relationships were found within or among the assays for depletion and release of prolactin. The results indicate that secreted prolactin has increased bioassay activity relative to its detectability by disc electrophoresis and RIA.

During 1995 and 1996, a commercial gin in western Arizona ginned seed cotton on a field-by-field basis. Seed from each field was kept separate until sampled and analyzed for aflatoxin content according to Arizona Commercial Feed Law. This gave a comprehensive view of field-to-field variability in aflatoxin content as the season progressed. Regression analysis indicated significant relationships between gin date and aflatoxin content in both years: aflatoxin increased with later ginnning. Overall, 89 and 79% of seed lots exceeded 20 ppb in 1995 and 1996, respectively. No field ginned after Julian Day (JD) 273 in 1995 or after JD 267 in 1996 had an aflatoxin content <20 ppb. Means separation confirmed later ginned crops had significantly greater aflatoxin content (P = 0.05). In 1996, transgenic Bt and non-Bt cottonseed were similarly contaminated. Mean aflatoxin content of Bt cottonseed in 1996 was 413 ppb and that of non-Bt cottonseed was 598 ppb. These observations suggest that, in Arizona, losses from aflatoxin contamination of cottonseed can be reduced by early harvest.

Generally, manufacturing capability is the important factor in running and developing business. Hence, this research is aimed to identifying the relationships of critical factors and make sure the companies can survive in the northern region of Malaysia. Those identified factors are training and manufacturing capabilities. Through the email survey, a total of 89 companies representing electrical and electronic industries had responded. The hypotheses involved were tested using correlation and regression techniques. The results of the study support all the hypotheses. The multiple regression analysis indicates that there are significant relationships among the factors on each criterion to manufacturing capabilities. While hierarchical multiple regression analysis was carried out to test the role of moderating in the relationship between independent variables with dependent variables. It is believed that results of this study will be beneficial for shareholders and directors of companies to apply these manufacturing capabilities.

Generally, manufacturing capabilities are the important factor in running and developing business. Hence, this research is aimed to identifying the relationships of critical factors and make sure the companies can survive in the northern region of Malaysia esspecially in Electrical and Electronic area. Those identified factors are managerial commitment and manufacturing capabilities in term of agility. Through the survey, a total of 119 companies representing various industries in Northern Region of Malaysia had responded. The hypotheses involved were tested using correlation and regression techniques. The results of the study support all the hypotheses. The multiple regression analysis indicates that there are significant relationships among the factors on each criterion to manufacturing capabilities. It is believed that results of this study will be beneficial for shareholders and directors of electrical and electronic companies to apply these manufacturing capabilities.

This study examined the relationship between the Apperceptive Personality Test (APT) and Rotter's Internal-External Locus of Control (I-E) Scale. These scales were administered to 131 undergraduates (83 women, 48 men) and a stepwise multiple regression analysis was performed with Rotter's I-E scores as the criterion variable and 20 APT variables as predictors. The results provided some support for modest but significant relationships between two APT variables and scores on the I-E Scale. Internal-scoring subjects described their story characters with more positive ratings for the APT variable of Leader-Follower, whereas the story characters of external-scoring subjects were described with more extreme positive ratings than those of internal scorers.

This study examines the relationships between instructors' perceptions of their leaders' integrity as measured by the Perceived Leadership Integrity Scale (PLIS), and the instructional systems organizational health. The sample involved six hundred fifty (650) instructors who were surveyed online. Pearson product correlations revealed statistically significant relationships between Perceived Leader Integrity (PLI) and the composite score of the seven Organizational Health Inventory for Schools (OHI-S) dimensions. Multiple regression analysis showed the OH Index to have a strong independent effect with the factors of consideration, institutional integrity, and academic emphasis. These findings will broaden understanding of the relationship between leadership and ethics, an important link to effectively managing instructors utilizing today's technologies for classroom instruction.

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between teachers’ educational beliefs and curriculum design orientation preferences. In this research, prediction research design, one of the correlation models, was employed. The study group consisted of teachers (n = 182) working in public primary, elementary and high schools in Bilecik province, Turkey. The findings revealed there were significant relationships between the teachers’ educational beliefs and curriculum orientations. According to the regression analysis undertaken, the model was statistically significant as a whole and the teachers’ educational beliefs and curriculum orientations were significantly correlated. The teachers’ educational beliefs predicted 39% of the curriculum orientations. According to these results, it is suggested that the educational beliefs of teachers have a key role in shaping their curriculum orientations.

Abstract. Depression in older adults can be explained by Erikson’s theory on the conflict of ego integrity versus hopelessness. The study investigated the relationship between past acceptance, hopelessness, death anxiety, and depressive symptoms in 100 older (≥50 years) adults. The total Beck Hopelessness (BHS), Geriatric Depression (GDS), and Accepting the Past (ACPAST) subscale scores of the depressed group were higher, while the total Death Anxiety (DAS) and Reminiscing the Past (REM) subscale scores of both groups were similar. A regression analysis revealed that the BHS, DAS, and ACPAST predicted the GDS. Past acceptance seems to be important for ego integrity in older adults.

An increasing demand for Islamic tourism has driven the concept of a ‘Halal’ (or permissible) friendly hotel into another level of business insight within the consumers’ travel market. The concept via its unique value proposition has rapidly become very attractive not only to Muslim tourists, but also to non-Muslim tourists globally. This study aims to examine the relationship linking ‘Halal’ friendly hotel attributes and customer satisfaction. Using purposive sampling, a total of 410 survey questionnaires were distributed to targeted respondents with only 323 usable feedbacks and used for data analysis. Regression results revealed that four main “Halal-friendly hotel” attributes have significant relationships with customer satisfaction. These include prayer facilities, Halal food, Islamic dress code and general Islamic morality. Of these four attributes, prayer facilities proved to have the most significant impact on customer satisfaction. Findings and managerial implications were further discussed in this article.

This study aims to analyze the interaction of ethical culture, spiritual intelligence, ethical content, and students' ethical behavior. The population in this study is a student at one of the leading accounting vocational education institutions in Yogyakarta. Sampling technique in this research use purposive sampling. The number of samples in this study was 368 respondents. Data analysis using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results of this study indicate that the content of ethics affect the student's ethical behavior. The interaction of ethical culture on the relationship between ethical content and ethical behavior suggests it can strengthen its influence. Similarly, the interplay of spiritual intelligence that demonstrates can strengthen the relationship between ethical content and student ethical behavior.
