Conservative treatment of congenital clubfoot is generally accepted standard in the world orthopedic practice. There are many techniques that basically include functional methods and techniques of passive correction of the deformity. We analyzed 10 years of experience in the treatment of primary clubfoot according to three techniques - Zatsepin’s method, author’s method and Ponseti method. The evaluation of treatment results in the short and long terms was carried out. Analysis of long-term results showed a statistically significant advantage of Pontseti method over the other used techniques.

Early and long-term results of radiofrequency facet destruction for 245 patients with cervical, thoracic and lumbar spondyloarthrosis were presented. One hundred six patients (control group) were treated conservatively. Treatment results were assessed by pain syndrome intensity using pain audit. One year after operation good result was observed in 62 (32%) out of 195 patients and satisfactory results — in 117 (60%) patients. That method enabled to eliminate considerably vertebrogenic pain localized in one dermatome when conservative treatment failed. Our experience showed that radiofrequency facet nerves destruction was safe and did not result in soft tissue injuries. All that enabled patients to return to work at maximum short terms.

The purpose of this study was to analyze long-term results of conservative treatment of patients with osteomyelitis of the spine. The authors examined 135 patients with osteomyelitis of the spine. Conservative treatment was made in 67 (50%) patients, other patients was carried out surgical treatment. Indications for treatment included: early diagnosis of the disease, the absence of sig-nificant lesions destruction of vertebral bodies, neurological complications, the presence of comorbidity and organ failure. The complex conservative treatment consisted of: antibacterial and detoxification therapies, orthopedic immobilization, immune-corrective and tonic medicines. In the preoperative and long-term period (time from 1 year to 15 years after surgery) the clinical, paraclinical, radiation methods and classification developed by Frankel H.L.et al (1969) were used for evaluation of neurological disorders. Long-term results included assessment of pain on VAS and quality of life questionnaire developed by Oswestry and SF-36. For statistical analysis of the material was used the software package Statistica 6.1 (license agreement BXXR006B092218FAN11). Long-term clinical, laboratory and x-ray methods didn’t shown recurrence of the disease. In 16 patients with neurological complications after treatment, regression of neurological symptoms was revealed. Pains in the spine, associated with symptoms of degenerative disc disease without neurological deficit, were established in some patients. At most patients the presence of spontaneous fibrous or bone block is marked at the level of former inflammatory process with symptoms of degenerative disc disease in the lower divisions. All patients returned to their previous jobs in terms from 6 to 12 months after the treatment. Thus, the authors concluded that conservative treatment of the patients with osteomyelitis of the spine is defensible, harmless and effective method in particular indicated cases.

The authors indicated that pronounced deformities of the ducts of the large salivary glands occur in 70% of patients with chronic sialadenitis. Due to the fact that conservative treatment of ductal sialadenitis, especially pronounced, does not give long-term results, the authors proposed various methods of surgical treatment of ductal sialadenitis, which have a low level of trauma of collateral tissues and provides a stable long-term result.

Background. Currently, the issue of effective conservative treatment of constipation in cases of colon developmental abnormalities remains open. Aim: to study the immediate and long-term results of the treatment of chronic constipation in case of colon development abnormalities, through individualization of the physiotherapeutic methods used, depending on the type of pathology. Methods. The article presents the experience of treatment in the Department of Internal Medicine of the Lugansk Republican Clinical Hospital, from 2013 to the present, of 389 patients with chronic constipation in colon developmental abnormalities. We used types of electrical stimulation, different in the method of applying electrodes and the stimulating current parameters. In the work, we used the serial apparatus Endoton 01-B. We evaluated the immediate and long-term results of treatment in the period from 6 months to 3 years. Results. After 34 courses of rectal electrostimulation of patients with compensated and subcompensated forms of the disease, for 67 months, 346 (88.95%) patients had regular independent defecation with an interval of 2436 hours. The remaining 43 (11.05%) patients with subcompensated and decompensated forms of the disease received 56 courses of rectal electrical stimulation during the year. A persistent positive effect was obtained, namely independent defecation with an interval of 3648 hours. Conclusion. Rectal electrical stimulation for this pathology is considered the method of choice. The functional immediate and long-term results of rehabilitation of patients confirmed the correctness of the approach chosen.
