This study aims to determine the impact of the spirituality in workplace on organizational performance with job satisfaction as a moderating variable. This study used a survey method. The research data were analyzed using the Moderating Regression Analaysis (MRA) method. This study provides results that (1) Workplace spirituality (sense of community and meaning at work) has positive and significant impact on the organizational performance, while inner life does not affect organizational performance; (2) job satisfaction does not affect organizational performance; and (3) job satisfaction is able to moderate effect between spirituality in the workplace and organizational performance. The implications of this research expected to provide service organizations, especially in hospitals, to consider conducting training related to spirituality and provide a work environment that can support the spirituality of employees, so the employees can create a comfortable and friendly environment for each others in the organization.

Workplace spirituality has emerged as one of the effective mechanisms to induce organizational commitment, job involvement, creativity, innovation and to reduce employee turnover intentions. This has attracted the attention of researchers worldwide, and there have been several studies on the components and effect of workplace spirituality on employee performance in Western nations. The Covid 19 pandemic has led to job losses and pay cuts across industries, leading to an alarming Increase in stress, depression and alcohol and substance abuse among employees. However, hardly any studies have been conducted on workplace spirituality in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, leaving a gap in the literature. This study investigates the impact of four dimensions of workplace spirituality namely, meaningful work, inner life, organizational values and sense of community on the organizational commitment of employees working in various organizations in Oman during Covid-19. The study employs survey data collected from 117 respondents across various managerial levels using a structured questionnaire having 20 items. The data has been analyzed using SmartPLS 3 software. The results reveal the impact of the chosen dimensions of workplace spirituality on the organizational commitment of employees. The findings of the study suggest that meaningful work has the highest impact on organizational commitment, followed by inner life and sense of community. Organizational values have been found not to have a significant effect on organizational commitment. Workplace spirituality can have a profound impact on the mental health and wellbeing of employees in these troubled times.

Purpose Despite extensive studies on predictors and antecedents of organizational commitment, empirical research studies on the impact of workplace spirituality on organizational commitment remain scarce. This study aims to examine the impact of the dimensions of workplace spirituality on agents’ organizational commitment in Islamic insurance (Takaful) industry in Malaysia. Design/methodology/approach This study used a positivist research approach, comprising a quantitative basis of enquiry, and gathered data via survey questionnaires. In total, 600 questionnaires were distributed and finally 395 usable cases were selected for analysis. Pearson’s correlation and stepwise multiple regressions analyses were used to analyze the data. Findings The findings indicated that spirituality in the workplace has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment. The relationship between each and every component of workplace spirituality and organizational commitment was found to be substantial, positive and significant. The study findings will enable Islamic insurance companies to understand the importance of spirituality in the workplace and will further improve their function and performance by way of enhancing employees’ spirituality in the workplace. This study suggests developing more spiritual training, workshops, lectures and seminars on spirituality at the workplace which will help employees of takaful operators and agencies cope effectively with life problems, reduce stress, boost loyalty and enhance organizational commitment. Originality/value This study raises awareness on the importance of spirituality in the workplace and investigates the influence of its components to enhance organizational commitment, which will ultimately contribute to improving and sustaining human well-being and organizational performance.

Employee turnover has become a key performance indicator for many organizations as they struggle to retain talented employees. The negative impact of turnover on organizational performance has continually forced organizational leaders to seek better ways of retaining valuable employees. The relationship between man and work has always attracted the attention of philosophers. A major part of men’s life is spent at work. Work is social reality and social expectation to which men seem to conform. It not only provides status to the individual but also binds him to the society. An employee who is satisfied with his job would perform his duties well and be committed to his job, and subsequently to his organization. This paper examines relationship among job satisfaction, organizational commitment and employees’ turnover intentions at Unilever Corporation in Nigeria. The data for this study was collected from 117 employees currently working at Unilever Nigeria PLC using the survey method via the questionnaire. Pearson Correlation and the multiple regression analysis techniques using the SPSS version 22.0 was used for the data analysis. The findings of the study revealed that both job satisfaction and organizational commitment have significant negative relationship with employee turnover intentions. In addition, organizational commitment was revealed to have a more dorminant influence on employee turnover intentions than job satisfaction. Based on these findings, the implications, recommendations, practice, and theory were discussed.

The paper aims to empirically explore the impact of six dimensions of workplace spirituality on three types of organizational commitment. Six dimensions of workplace spirituality used for the study are Swadharma, Lokasangraha, authenticity, sense of community, Karma capital and Krityagyata. Components of organizational commitment are affective, normative and continuance commitment. A sample of 541 employees working in various organizations was given a structured questionnaire. Correlations, regressions and Necessary Condition Analysis(NCA) were carried out. The paper has enriched the field of workplace spirituality by contributing to existing literature via adding one more construct of Indian spirituality i.e. Krityagyata. Paper concludes that workplace spirituality climate helps in promoting organizational commitment. NCA elicited necessity of various dimensions of workplace spirituality for healthy organizational commitment.

<p class="Abstract">Workplace spirituality has steadily been gaining attention in the last couple of years. Many researchers have investigated the role of “workplace spirituality” with the aim of generating research data that would firmly entrench this construct as vital in the workplace. This article proposes the relationships between workplace spirituality, job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behaviors. It examines the relationship between three workplace spirituality components–meaning and purpose in work, recognition of an inner life or spirit and interconnectedness with the various forms in which organizational citizenship behaviours manifest, mediated by the job satisfaction experienced by the employees. This study can provide significant inputs to promote managerial effectiveness, change management, leadership, holistic performance and growth of organizations, through environments which promote workplace spirituality.</p>

This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style, competence, compensation on employee performance and the impact on organizational performance on the employees of the Directorate General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities. This study used a survey method by distributing questionnaires to employees of the Directorate General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities. As the respondent. This research method uses quantitative methods with technical analysis of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the AMOS version 22 application. The research sample used in this study were 158 respondents. The results showed that leadership style, competence and compensation directly had a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Leadership style, competence and compensation directly have a positive and significant effect on organizational performance. Leadership style, competence and compensation indirectly have a positive and significant effect on organizational performance through employee performance.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of knowledge management (KM) in terms of organizational performance using structural equation modeling. To enhance organizational performance, KM is used as a powerful strategic tool. The factors such as management commitment, leadership and organizational culture are the KM enabler’s conditions, and the step processes of KM are knowledge capture, creation, organizing/storing and transfer, and through this, KM is analyzed on organizational performance in the context of leathers manufacturing company. This study constructs with questionnaire consist of 34 variables. Design/methodology/approach There are about 101 samples that were collected through the questionnaire survey method in the leather companies in Ranipet. The data were collected from executives and associates in the leather companies. Data were analyzed using the SPSS tool and SMART PLS tool used for framing a research model and the hypothesized relationships were tested through partial least squares structural equation modeling technique. Findings The finding of this study is mandatory to implement a structured KM practice in the leather companies. Application of KM is quite an impact on organizational performance, which leads to profitability and productivity. Originality/value This is the first paper to empirically investigate the KM enablers, process and support for the role of KM practices at leather industry. Further, the positioning of KM practices as a strategic competitive tool can be considered as an influential factor to organizational performance.

Workplace spirituality and grit are gaining momentum among researchers, academicians and business professionals. While workplace spirituality is an extrinsic factor which refers to a supportive working environment, grit is an internal factor which refers to passion and perseverance. The aim of this article is to examine the impact of workplace spirituality and grit on work engagement. Data were collected using standardised questionnaires from 275 full-time employees working in various government, private and public–private organisations in Delhi-NCR, India. Correlational analysis showed a positive correlation between components of workplace spirituality (inner life, meaningful work and community) and components of work engagement (attention and absorption) and between components of grit (consistency of interest and perseverance) and components of work engagement (attention and absorption). Hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that meaningful work, consistency of interest and perseverance significantly predicted work engagement after controlling for gender, age, tenure and educational qualification. This implies that organisations should hire employees with high grit and provide them with meaningful work to enhance their engagement. Practical and theoretical implications, along with the limitations of the study, are discussed.

The present research explores the impact of training and innovation on organisational performance. Additionally, this research scrutinises how job satisfaction partially mediates the impact of training and innovation on organisational performance. Therefore, in order to achieve the objective of this research, the survey procedure using single-stage cluster sampling method is used to develop an in-depth profile, which is gathered from 653 out of 800 formal standardised questionnaires sent to employees who are in the managerial or supervisory level and above at 400 hotels in West Malaysia. For this research, only two questionnaires were distributed to the managers of each hotel. This research employed quantitative methods to produce empirical results and shreds of evidence that fulfil the research questions. The literature scrutinised training, innovation, job satisfaction, and organisational performance to fill the gap and to uncover the significance of training programs and innovation on organisational performance with job satisfaction as the mediator. The analysis shows that training and innovation are statistically significant and has a strong relationship with job satisfaction and organisational performance. Conclusively, the hypothesis depicted that job satisfaction mediates the relationship between training and innovation on organisational performance in the hospitality industry. Thus, the findings of this study could aid as an example to other hoteliers in Malaysia to not presume the impact of training and innovativeness on organisational performance. The primary objective of this paper is to investigate the impact of mentoring on organizational commitment and job satisfaction of accounting-finance academicians employed in Turkey. Survey method is utilized in order to reach this goal and questionnaires are distributed to test the effect of mentoring on Turkish accounting-finance scholars’ organizational commitment and job satisfaction. This paper contributes to the literature by pointing out the relationship among mentoring, organizational commitment and job satisfaction, which in turn leads to more efficient mentoring management and necessary measures in Turkish accounting-finance community.
