The few studies in South American developing countries that refer to the adoption of e-commerce in SMEs require knowledge of how this context is presented. The objective of this study addresses this need and seeks to determine the variables that influence the adoption of e-commerce in SMEs in Colombia. The measurement tool (IMAES) was applied using a digital questionnaire; 263 surveys were collected in SMEs and the data were analysed using the partial least squares methodology, validating tool and model. The results found that Colombian SMEs adopt e-commerce because of pressure from senior management, performance expectations, the competitive advantage it offers, and pressure from their customers. This is one of the first studies in the region that empirically analyses the adoption of e-commerce, as well as describing the theoretical framework for this line of research.

The objective of this research is to examine the influence of outsourcing on financial performance and competitive priories of Malaysian SMEs. A data sample of 100 SMEs was analyzed to examine these relationships. The analysis was conducted via Partial Least Squares. Based on the findings, while outsourcing has significant influence of SMEs financial performance in Malaysian context, outsourcing activities do not have an impact on competitive priorities. Outsourcing approach emphasizing on the establishment of core competitive advantage, allows Malaysian SMEs to get the numerous benefits such as overall sales growth, market share, net profit, return on investment, and financial liquidity.

This study aims to predict and explain the acceptance of social video platforms for learning. A research model is proposed that explains that the intention of using these platforms is based on the perception of performance, social influence, and hedonic motivation. To validate the model, 568 Brazilian YouTube users were surveyed. The data were analyzed with partial least squares structural equations modeling (PLS-SEM). In particular, the predictive power of the model was assessed using the PLSpredict procedure. The results of this study can help to understand and forecast the use of these platforms for learning in developing countries.

This study analyzed 147 SMEs company owners in SMESCO Indonesia with structural model equation modeling-partial least squares (SEM-PLS) tool. Method of sampling non probability sampling with purposive sampling. The result of the research: firstly that innovation strategy has no effect on the performance of SMEs company (positively insignificant), but positively influential to the performance of SMEs company through competitive advantage; secondly that market orientation has no effect on company performance (negative not significant), but positively significant effect of market orientation on company performance through competitive advantage.

This study examined the effect of competitive advantage on the relationship between corporate strategy and business performance. It also examined the effect of corporate strategy and competitive advantage on business performance. A total of 222 hotel managers participated in this study based on self-administered questionnaires. Smart Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis was employed to analyze the obtained data. The study revealed that corporate strategy has a positive and significant effect on business performance and competitive advantage.  Competitive advantage was also found to have a positive and significant effect on business performance. The study revealed that competitive advantage has significantly mediated the relationship between corporate strategy and business performance. The study provides support for both practical and theoretical reference values.

Dolgozatunkban, a reflektancia spektroszkópia alapjaira helyezett, a talajok ösz-szetételének meghatározását célzó módszertani fejlesztés első lépéseit mutatjuk be. Munkánk során talajok szervesszén- és CaCO3-tartalmának megbecslését lehetővé tévő többváltozós matematikai-statisztikai módszerekre (részleges legkisebb négyzetek módszere, partial least squares regression – PLSR) épülő prediktív modellek létrehozását és tesztelését végeztük el. A létrehozott modellek tesztelése során megállapítottuk, hogy az eljárás mindkét talajparaméter esetében magas R2értéket [R2(szerves szén) = 0,815; R2(CaCO3) = 0,907] adott. A becslés pontosságát jelző közepes négyzetes eltérés (root mean squared error – RMSE) érték mindkét paraméter esetében közepesnek mondható [RMSE (szerves szén) = 0,467; RMSE (CaCO3) = 3,508], mely a reflektancia mérési előírások standardizálásával jelentősen javítható.
