A holistic understanding of the correlations between supply and demand in buildings forms the basis for their performance assessment. This paper aims to reinterpret a set of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that influence users’ satisfaction from different perspectives. Fieldwork was carried out in an office building following a detailed review on KPIs by conducting user surveys. This study highlights the need to organize specific indicators to focus on the usability of workplaces and, where and when required, through an iterative process, understand the user perception of performance indicators in usage conditions. This methodology is applicable for organizations to understand the main existing in-service problems, and could improve the building’s performance over time. Survey results showed that hygiene was the most recognizable influence on users’ satisfaction and indoor air quality was the less well-known in the assessment results. User perception results can be compared to other office buildings results to benchmark good practices and should also be investigated for the post-COVID-19 period.

Abstract Investors’ perception of performance is biased because the relevant measure, returns, is rarely displayed. Major indices ignore dividends, thereby underreporting market performance. Newspapers are more pessimistic on ex-dividend days, consistent with mistaking the index for returns. Market betas should track returns, but track prices more than dividends, creating predictable returns. Mutual funds receive inflows for “beating the S&P 500” price index based on net asset value (also not a return). Investors extrapolate market indices, not returns, when forming annual performance expectations. Displaying returns by default would ameliorate these issues, which arise despite high attention and agreement on the appropriate measure.

Nowadays, information technology tools are widely used in the healthcare industry to record and integrate medical data so as to provide complete access to patients' information for coordinated healthcare delivery. Yet, the efficacy of these technologies depends on their successful implementation for, adoption by and/or adaptation to support health professional workers such as physicians and nurses. This study addresses the impact of specific factors including result observability, autonomy, perceived barriers, task structure, privacy and security anxiety on the nurses' perception of their performance using health information technologies. Additionally, the effects of nurses' personality factors are examined as moderating factors on the relationships between the organizational factors and nurses' perception of performance. Multiple linear regression was applied to validate the proposed research model and professional autonomy, result observability, privacy and security anxiety were found to be key factors predicting the nurses' perception of performance.

Performance appraisal politics is widespread in the organization. It provides a new perspective for improving performance appraisal to study its effects on employee attitudes. In addition, its influence on employees’ attitude is still blank. This paper utilizes questionnaire survey and structural equation model to study the impact of different types of perception of performance appraisal politics on employees’ affective commitment. The result shows that different types of perception of performance appraisal politics have different effect on employees’ attitude. Perception of public-private concerned high ratings has positive effect, however, perception of organizational-interested low ratings, selfish high rating perception and self-interested low rating perception have negative effect. The effect strength was decided by employee’s attribution about perception of performance appraisal politics. Perception of organizational support played a complete mediate role in the impact of perception of performance appraisal politics on employees’ affective commitment. Based on the findings of the study, managers can reduce employees’ negative perception of performance appraisal politics and passive consequences by restricting estimators’ selfish leniency and conscious oppressive evaluation, guiding employees to attribute performance appraisal politics positively and enhancing perception of organizational support.

Abstract. The objective of the study was to identify the relationships between training load with emotional and performance variables in formative basketball. The participants were 82 players in the formative categories. Internal load, external load, emotional intelligence, perceived performance, and well-being-related variables such as fatigue and muscle pain were measured. The results show that heart rate is related to a higher perception of performance, as well as external load with fatigue. Similarly, fatigue and muscle pain had a strong relationship between them and, in turn, with less score in matches, less perception of performance and negative emotional regulation. The perceived performance relates positively to all the variables of emotional intelligence. With these data, the coaches have more resources and knowledge when it comes to planning and design the training sessions, which will improve performance by athletes. It is recommended to train with intensity without perceiving fatigue or muscular pain, as well as developing the variables of emotional intelligence.

Precompetitive anxiety and performance in young rhythmic gymnastics athletes: a case study.BACKGROUND: Rhythmic gymnastics is characterized by an athlete’s early participation in training and competition. This participation can cause high levels of anxiety and may impact negatively on sports performance.OBJECTIVE: To verify the precompetitive anxiety and performance responses in rhythmic gymnastics athletes.METHODS: Two rhythmic gymnastics athletes, aged 11 and 12 years old, were evaluated in individual clubs and rope apparatus, during a simulated and official competition. Precompetitive anxiety was assessed by CSAI-2R questionnaire, and performance was assessed by the athlete´s perception and jury score for each presentation. RESULTS: The descriptive data suggest that in the official competition, the athletes presented higher values of somatic and cognitive anxiety, followed by a greater perception of performance. For the jury score, the athletes presented higher values in clubs and lower values in the rope apparatus during the official competition than the simulated competition.CONCLUSION: The results of the present study suggest that precompetitive anxiety tends to be higher in more stressful conditions (official vs. simulated competition), but this behavior does not seem to influence the performance of gymnasts in individual presentations negatively.
