The study of results of relevant works on remote sensing of forests has shown that the known methods of remote estimation of forest cuts and growth don’t allow to calculate the objective average value of forests cut volume during the fixed time period. The existing mathematical estimates are not monotonous and make it possible to estimate primitively the scale of cutting by computing the ratio of data in two fixed time points. In the article the extreme properties of the considered estimates for deforestation and reforestation models are researched. The extreme features of integrated averaged values of given estimates upon limitations applied on variables, characterizing the deforestation and reforestation processes are studied. The integrated parameter, making it possible to calculate the averaged value of estimates of forest cutting, computed for all fixed time period with a fixed step is suggested. It is shown mathematically that the given estimate has a monotonous feature in regard of value of given time interval and make it possible to evaluate objectively the scales of forest cutting.

A novel sparse weighted LSSVM classifier is proposed in this paper, which is based on Suykens weighted LSSVM. Unlike Suykens weighted LSSVM, the proposed weighted method is more suitable for classification. The distance between sample and classification border is used as the sample importance measure in our weighted method. Based on this importance measure, a new weight calculating function, using which can adjust the sparseness of weight, is designed. In order to solve the imbalance problem, a kind of normalization weights calculating method is proposed. Finally, the proposed method is used on digit recognition. Comparative experiment results show that the proposed sparse weighted LSSVM can improve the recognition correct rate effectively.

Purpose This paper aims to establish the downhole CO2 partial pressure profile calculating method and then to make an economical oil country tubular goods (OCTG) anti-corrosion design. CO2 partial pressure is the most important parameter to the oil and gas corrosion research for these wells which contain sweet gas of CO2. However, till now, there has not been a recognized method for calculating this important value. Especially in oil well, CO2 partial pressure calculation seems more complicated. Based on Dolton partial pressure law and oil gas separation process, CO2 partial pressure profile calculating method in oil well is proposed. A case study was presented according to the new method, and two kinds of corrosion environment were determined. An experimental research was conducted on N80, 3Cr-L80 and 13Cr-L80 material. Based on the test results, 3Cr-L80 was recommended for downhole tubing. Combined with the field application practice, 3Cr-L80 was proved as a safety and economy anti-corrosion tubing material in this oil field. A proper corrosion parameter (mainly refers to CO2 partial pressure and temperature) can ensure a safety and economy downhole tubing anti-corrosion design. Design/methodology/approach Based on Dolton partial pressure law and oil gas separation process, CO2 partial pressure profile calculating method in oil well is proposed. An experimental research was conducted on N80, 3Cr-L80 and 13Cr-L80 material. A field application practice was used. Findings It is necessary to calculate the CO2 partial pressure properly to ensure a safety and economy downhole tubing (or casing) anti-corrosion design. Originality/value The gas and oil separation theory and corrosion theory are combined together to give a useful method in downhole tubing anti-corrosion design method.

This paper deals with the static response of a Belleville spring and a diaphragm spring by using the finite rotation and large deflection theories of a beam and conical shell, and an experimental method as well. The authors propose new mechanical analysis mathematical models. The exact solution of a variable width cantilever beam is obtained. By using the integral equation method and the iterative method to solve the simplified equations and Reissner’s equations of finite rotation and large deflection of a conical shell, this paper has calculated a great number of numerical results. The properties of loads, strains, stresses and displacements, and the distribution rules of strains and stresses of diaphragm springs are investigated in detail by means of the experimental method. The unreasonableness of several assumptions in traditional theories and calculating method is pointed out.
