The enchantment of numbers of surgical interventions and the widespread adoption of modern technologies, lead to a parallel increase in technological errors and morbidity in recent years. This article analyzes such section of surgery as «medical errors», provides a modern classification of medical errors and complications according to foreign and Russian authors. The article contains information about definition, legal foundations and principles for the prevention of unexpected consequences of surgical interventions

The present review is focused on the modern methods for the treatment of male infertility related to obstructive and unobstructive azoospermia. The criteria and prognostic factors for obtaining spermatozoa by means of invasive manipulations on the testicles are considered. Special attention is given to the results of investigations into the state of the AZF-region of Y-chromosome and of the studies of patients presenting with Klinefelter's syndrome. The modern classification of testicular biopsies is presented that allows to discriminate between different forms of compromised spermatogenesis.

In this reviewing article there are discussed such topics as modern classification of acute pancreatitis, indications for surgical treatment of severe and, first of all, infected pancreatic necrosis, modern tendencies in this problem and controversial issues of it. The analysis of two different methods of surgeries («closed» and «open») for drainage of retroperitoneal space depending on the scale of necrotic lesion has been carried out. The perspective use of the natural transluminal endoscopic surgery (ENOTES) in the treatment of acute pancreatitis, complicated by abdominal compartment syndrome, is shown. The frequency of intraoperative and early complications after «closed» and «open» surgical interventions for severe acute pancreatitis has been reviewed; also recognition of the complications, the prevention of their occurrence and the choice of surgical or conservative methods of treating the complications.

For resources in the exploration stage, the modern “Classification of reserves” requires determining the economic efficiency of development prospects. Calculations of the development efficiency are based on the development time, which is difficult to determine without technological projects and schemes due to insufficient initial data. The identification of development stages in the preliminary economic assessment is carried out on the basis of expert appraisals without precise criteria, by analogy with the fields under development. The article establishes empirical dependencies and shows the possibility of their use for express forecast of the period for finishing work on a field (deposit), duration of the main development period, duration of the increasing production stage. Dependencies allow solving the problem of constructing a production curve in conditions of limited geological data. The express method can be used at the macro level to develop strategies for the development of oil and gas regions and at the micro level in the economic assessment of the prospects for the development of objects.

Objective. To present a variant of the modern classification of the processes occurring with lesions of the genitals, to draw specialists’ attention to the peculiarities and variety of causes leading to inflammation of the glans and foreskin, as well as to discuss topical issues of external therapy of balanopostitis.Material and methods. Data from modern studies and clinical guidelines were used in the preparation of the publication.Results. The variety of variants of lesions of the glans and foreskin can be due to a number of reasons and can be either an independent local process or a fragment of dermatosis, where it is possible to be affected in the form of balanoposthitis. Also, when examining and selecting therapy options, it is important to consider the possible role of microorganisms, whose spectrum as a cause of balanoposthitis varies from aerobic and anaerobic, to viral and fungal microflora. Treatment approaches are determined by the etiological factors.Conclusions. Balanoposthitis is a heterogeneous group of nosologies. The choice of treatment is based on the identified cause or empirically when possible. External therapy and hygiene constitute an essential part of treatment. When choosing drugs for topical glucocorticosteroids, preferenceshould be given to drugs with a high therapeutic index and low atrophogenic potential. Dysplastic processes of the penis are associated with human papillomavirus infection, the treatment of which can be both conservative and destructive.

“Ne è passata di acqua sotto i ponti.” It has been a long time since the diagnosis of Hodgkin lymphoma (HL) was exclusively based on the detection of typical Reed-Sternberg cells and the recognition of the characteristic morpho-histological background, as well as on the pathologist’s skill. The discovery of immunologic, molecular genetic and virologic biomarkers has provided an objective contribution to the diagnosis and a scientific basis for a modern classification of HL. Recent updates have clarified the nature of the so-called nodular lymphocyte predominant HL and its link to the T-cell/histiocyte-rich large B-cell lymphomas as well as its relationship with the lymphocyte-rich subset of classical HL (CHL). Molecular virology studies assessed a role for the Epstein-Barr virus in the pathogenesis of a fraction of CHL of the general population, and virtually in all cases of CHL occurring in people infected by HIV. Finally, immunologic and genetic findings corroborated the existence of grey zone lymphomas at the edges of CHL. Overall, these advances provided additional and useful information to address the treatment of patients affected by HL.

Purpose of study: to analyze the modern approaches to classification of large joints periprosthetic infection (PPI) and evaluate the results of revision surgical interventions in patients with deep PPI of the knee. Patients and methods. One hundred fifty three patients, 51 men and 102 women (mean age 57.3±12.4 years), with deep PPI were operated on. Treatment tactics was determined by the term after primary operation. In early PPI (n=31) sanitation interventions with implant preservation and in late PPI (n=122) – two step interventions with long period between the operations (over 4 weeks) were performed. Results. Follow up made up from 2 to 5 years. Sanitation interventions with implant preservation were successful in71% of patients. In group of patients with late PPI satisfactory results were achieved in 89.6% of cases. On the basis of the obtained data the variants of diagnosis and treatment tactics optimization as well as its adaptation to domestic public health system were proposed.
