THE IMPACT OF ORGANIZATIONAL CULTURE ON KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT IN SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES

The paper discusses the impact of IT/ICT on society by analyzing the effects it has on subjects and organizations. The recent proposal of frameworks for digital competence assessment and the construction of suitable instruments helping students in the acquisition of this competence are the main reason for the transfer to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). In this paper, the author compares knowledge phenomena in subjects with the strategies of knowledge management in the organizations. A framework for benchmarking best practices in SME and organizations is also given on the basis of the results obtained in virtual campuses. The author presents instruments for the acquisition of further information from all stakeholders, and possible interventions toward the improvement of digital processes in SMEs and organizations are discussed.

<p><strong>Purpose</strong>–This study aims to explore the impact of Knowledge Management Capabilities (KMC), captured by six dimensions, on product innovation in Information Technology (IT) Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).</p><p><strong>Design/methodology/approach</strong>– Survey data were collected from 300 managers in (45) IT SMEs located in Jordan. SPSS was employed to analyze the data.</p><p><strong>Findings</strong>–Two key findings emerged: first, among the six dimensions of KMC, only acquisition, sharing, application, and protection were found to be positively associated with products innovation, whereas knowledge creation and storing were not. Second, no significant differences were identified in employees' answers due to company size.</p><p><strong>Research limitations/implications</strong> – This study was restricted to small and medium size enterprises, and therefore, the findings of this study may not be generalized to large enterprises. Additionally, this study was confined to the Jordanian IT sector only, thus, the findings need to be interpreted with cautious as they may not be generalized to other sectors.</p><p><strong>Originality/value</strong> – this study advances our understanding of the nature of the relationship between knowledge and innovation.</p>

The study aimed to measure the Impact of Knowledge Management on the Marketing Performance of Small and Medium Enterprises in the State of Kuwait. The population of the study comprised of the owners of small and medium enterprises in the State of Kuwait. An appropriate sample of 150 respondents was used and 124 valid questionnaires were retrieved for analysis. The study reached an effect of knowledge management has been found on the marketing performance in small and medium projects in the State of Kuwait. This reflects the importance of attention to diversifying the sources of obtaining knowledge from the environment surrounding the project in a manner that can be used to its advantage in order to improve the level of its marketing performance. The study also highlighted that the opinions of the study sample on the impact of knowledge management on the marketing performance in small and medium enterprises in the State of Kuwait do not differ according to their practical experiences and scientific qualifications.

Objective - The goal of this research is to analyze the impact of entrepreneurship orientation, organizational culture and business strategy on company performance –both simultaneously and partially –of Small and Medium Enterprises in West Java. The objects of this research are entrepreneurship orientation, organizational culture, business strategy and company performance of Small and Medium Enterprises in West Java. Methodology/Technique - The type of the intervariable relation is causality. The characteristics of this research are descriptive and verificative, and the verificative analysis is conducted to test the hypothesis by using Structural Equation Model (SEM) statistical tool. Findings - Based on the results, entrepreneurship orientation, organizational culture and business strategy have an influence on company performance whereas other factors affect the rest of the variables. Furthermore, partially the three variables influence company performance significantly. Novelty - These variables are genuine usage for small and medium enterprises in West Java to increase it productivities. The study assessed the impact of organizational culture on the performance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Abuja. The questionnaire used was created based on Cameron and Quinn’s Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI) in identifying different types of organizational culture. Using a cross-sectional survey research design, the primary data was obtained through administered structured questionnaire to one hundred and twenty-seven (127) SMEs at different sampled locations in Nigeria. Pearson Product Moment Correlation analysis was used to identify the relationship that exists between the variables and the results revealed that organizational culture measured by clan culture, market culture, adhocracy culture and Hierarchy culture variables have significant relationship of r = 0.616, 0.514, 0.604 and 0.784 respectively with performance. The study concludes that organizational culture have significant influence on the performance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Abuja and that Hierarchy culture is found important in promoting innovative performance than the other type of culture. The study recommendation is thus that SME owners should ensure that all new employees receive a formal briefing on the company's traditions, beliefs, vision, and strategies. They should create and print a common set of procedures and policies to promote seamless discharge of duties and responsibilities in such a way that will foster innovative performance in the work place.

Objective – Low amounts of management research have taken into account the link between knowledge management processes and intellectual capital in innovation success. This study empirically investigates the mediation role of intellectual capital in the relationship between knowledge management processes and innovation performance. Methodology/Technique – The research questionnaires were distributed to 297 small and medium enterprises wearing apparel companies in Indonesia. The primary statistic methodology for data analysis was Partial Least Square. Findings – The study found that knowledge management processes and intellectual capital significantly influence innovation performance. Furthermore, intellectual capital mediated knowledge management processes impact on innovation performance partially Novelty - IC partially mediates the impact of knowledge management processes on innovation performance.
