This study examines the role of marketing knowledge management (assets and capabilities) in enhancing digital financial innovation through the moderating role of employees' demographic characteristics (age, education, experience, and position) in commercial banks operating in Jordan. To accomplish this aim, a conceptual framework based on knowledge-based theory and literature review was developed. A total of 336 responses to a questionnaire survey were collected from the managers and employees working on commercial banks operating in Jordan. The empirical findings revealed that marketing knowledge management capabilities positively and significantly affect digital financial innovation. The findings also support the moderating effect of only two demographic characteristics: of employees: education and position on the relationship between marketing knowledge management and digital financial innovation in commercial banks in Jordan.

Adopting a quantitative research design, this study aimed to develop Student Survey of Knowledge Management Capabilities in Higher Education (SSKMCHE) and Academic Staff Survey of Knowledge Management Capabilities in Higher Education (ASKMCHE) to measure the knowledge management capabilities in state universities from the perspectives of both students and academics. The participants were 512 undergraduate students and 300 academics working full-time in state universities in Istanbul during the academic years of 2017–2018 and 2018–2019. The explanatory factor analysis (EFA) was performed to determine the validity of the surveys, and the Pearson correlation analyses and matched-pair t-tests were performed to find out the reliability of the surveys, and Cronbach alpha coefficients were calculated for each sub-dimension to test their internal consistency. At the end of the study, 43-item 5-point Likert-type scale of SSKMCHE and 50-item 5-point Likert-type scale of ASKMCHE were developed, which measure 7 dimensions: technology, organizational structure, and organizational culture as the dimensions of knowledge management infrastructure capabilities, and knowledge acquisition, knowledge conversion, knowledge application, and knowledge protection as the dimensions of knowledge management process capabilities.

With intensifying rivalry in the mobile telephone industry, mobile telephone firms are finding knowledge management capabilities as vital resource for ensuring their performance. However, there is scanty empirical literature to help these firm associate knowledge management capabilities to their performance, hence this study which sought to ascertain the inspiration of knowledge management capabilities on the performance of mobile telephone firms in Kenya. it objectives were to; establish the influence of knowledge acquisition, find out the influence of knowledge application, determine the role of knowledge transfer, ascertain how knowledge protection influence, and stablish the joint effect of knowledge management capabilities (knowledge acquisition, knowledge application, knowledge transfer and knowledge protection) on the performance of the mobile telephone firms in Kenya. This study adopted descriptive survey design where it used a target population of the 63 heads of human resources, information marketing and finance from the 21 telephone firms operating in Kenya. Since the target population was easily manageable and readily accessible, census was used. The data which was collected data from primary sources using questionnaires was analysed using quantitative approach to produce descriptive and inferential statistics. In addition, the study tested for its hypothesis testing using; t-test,. F test and Analysis of Variance. The study found that each of; knowledge acquisition, knowledge application, knowledge transfer and knowledge protection have a positive significant effect of performance. The study concluded that on embracing knowledge management capabilities; knowledge acquisition; knowledge application; knowledge transfer; and knowledge protection, mobile telephone firms in Kenya experienced significant improved in performance and as they also gained competitive advantage over their competitors.

PurposeThis study examines the impact of knowledge management capabilities on agility, adaptability and alignment (triple-A), drawing upon the nexus of the knowledge-based view and dynamic ambidexterity in the context of manufacturing industry in the USA. It also assesses the performance outcomes of triple-A capabilities in terms of operational and relational performance.Design/methodology/approachPath analysis was performed in this empirical study in the manufacturing industry.FindingsThe results show that knowledge management capabilities are conducive to the development of triple-A capabilities, which in turn lead to the improvement of operational and relational performance.Originality/valueThis study is grounded in the marriage of the knowledge-based view and dynamic ambidexterity to assess the combinative impact of knowledge management capabilities of knowledge acquisition and sharing through absorptive and desorptive capacities on agility and adaptability through knowledge exploration and alignment by knowledge exploitation in the pursuit of triple-A capabilities. This study unentangles the linkage between knowledge management capabilities and triple-As by theorizing the connection between absorptive/desorptive capacity and exploration/exploitation in terms of responsive and efficient supply chain respectively.

Purpose The outcomes and quality of international development projects (IDPs) remain highly controversial, especially with perception of corruption by various stakeholders. This study aims to integrate findings from both social and administrative sciences to focus attention on the governance challenges involved in both business and public administration of such projects. It also asks to what extent Project Management (PM) methods can effectively be harmonized with broader anti-corruption initiative in both donor and receiving countries. Design/methodology/approach Taking a transdisciplinary viewpoint, this study proposes a review and synthesis of the literature on the theoretical, methodological, and epistemological issues in researching corruption as a construct in PM as applied to IDPs. Findings Some experts recognize the inefficacy of applying classical PM tools and processes. By contrasting the literature, this study concludes that an alternative approach to overcome the taboos and prejudice in studying corruption is to ask a different research question. As opposed to studying “who and why” about corruption occurrences (ex-post), given the challenge of unveiling its practices and motivations, PM researchers can to ask instead “where and how” it occurs and help understand methods to mitigate its effects on projects (ex-ante). Originality/value A research agenda is proposed for the several disciplines and fields concerned with solving this phenomenon. To guide PM research on development projects, focusing on the “where and how” of corruption requires addressing how actors build their knowledge management capabilities and address the social and cultural challenges inherent to IDPs.

PurposeThe purpose of this systematic review is to summarize the possible organizational outcomes related to knowledge management capabilities (KMCs). It aims at offering the modern-day dynamic organizations a path, through which they can utilize KMC at hand for gaining competitive advantage and positive organizational outcomes. The review is based on previous studies in the field of knowledge management and explains how KMCs are associated with various organizational outcomes.Design/methodology/approachA systematic approach was utilized to collect, examine, interpret and synthesize researches regarding KMCs and their usefulness for various organizational outcomes. The meta-synthesis method was adopted to review 106 research papers after careful selection.FindingsIt was evident from this integrated review that KMCs help in promoting organizational effectiveness, innovative ability, organizational change, value creation, competitive advantage, organizational learning and performance. Furthermore, the current review suggests research avenues and knowledge gaps in current literature to provide future researchers unique research opportunities.Originality/valueThe review revealed a profound opinion that organizations have to develop an optimal mix of KMCs to achieve better organizational outcomes. The study identified how KMCs set a basis and build positive support to enhance the key organizational outcomes such as organizational effectiveness, innovative ability, organizational change, value creation, competitive advantage, organizational learning and performance. However, cooperation bias is one of the most considerable limitations in research studies included in this systematic literature review.

The aim of this study is to examine Iraqi small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in terms of the relationship between the use of accounting information systems (AIS), knowledge management capabilities (KMC), and organizational performance (OP) mediated by innovation. A total of 312 questionnaires were used for analysis. Partial least squares version 3 was used to analyse the relationships. The results showed that the use of AIS and KMC have a positive significant influence on innovation, while all three constructs have a positive significant influence on the OP of SMEs. Moreover, all the dimensions of the use of AIS (e.g., decision-making, controlling process, operational efficiency, planning process, and financial reporting), and all the dimensions of KMC (e.g., knowledge acquisition, knowledge sharing, and knowledge utilization) were found to have a positive influence on OP. It was also found that innovation partially mediates the relationship between the use of AIS and OP, as well as the relationship between KMC and OP. The results could help SMEs to obtain a competitive advantage.
