Abstract: During firing from a mortar, an important issue is the parameters of compressibility of the ground on which the mortar is placed. This affects the operation of the mortar (including safety). During the qualification tests of the mortar, the influence of different types of substrate on its strength and work during shooting should be examined. Until now in the Polish standardization documents was no clear description about the substrate parameters used for this kind of tests. Analysis of the literature also did not allow to determine the dependence of the mortars displacement in the function of the type of substrate and its geotechnical parameters. Therefore, the authors carried out analytical and experimental analysis of the use of geotechnical methods to determine the parameters of the substrate for mortar testing. The paper presents the proposed types of standardized soil and their research methods. Preliminary tests were also carried out using the prescribed measurement methods and a comparative mortar firing test. Subsequently, an analysis of the results was carried out and the possibilities of using the proposed methods of measuring the parameters of soil compressibility were determined.

During firing from a mortar, an important issue is the parameters of compressibility of the ground on which the mortar is placed. This affects the operation of the mortar (including safety). During the qualification tests of the mortar, the influence of different types of terrains on its strength and work during shooting should be examined. Until now, in the Polish standardization documents there was no clear description of the ground parameters used for these kinds of tests. Analysis of the literature also did not allow to determine the dependence of the mortars displacement in the function of the type of ground and its geotechnical parameters. In view of the above, it has become important to draw up a research problem in the form of determining the types of soil with parameters, enabling the mortar tests to be carried out in conditions as close as possible to combat conditions. Therefore, the authors carried out the theoretical calculations and field tests with the use of geotechnical methods such as static and dynamic load tests to determine the parameters of the ground for mortar testing. Preliminary tests were conducted using the prescribed measurement methods and a comparative mortar firing test. Subsequently, an analysis of the results was carried out and the possibilities of using the tested methods of measuring the parameters of soil compressibility were determined.

The study is titled characteristics Psalm of Praise. This study will seek and discover the characteristics and principles of psalm praise in the Book of Psalms. To discover the characteristics of the Praise Psalm used qualitative rather than experimental research methods. This qualitative method can also be used for reflective speculators. With four steps: analyzing the passage according to its elements, the second step is to recognize the language style of poetry and stories that are historical, the third reveals the original meaning of Hebrew poetry, the fourth looks for the characteristics of the Hebrew satra of the author's motives and goals. So that preserved by this method can be formulated characteristics from the Psalm of Praise. There are three important things to remember in the Psalm of praise is, first the Psalm of praise begins with an invitation to worship The Lord, The second psalm of praise continues by giving a description of the reasons why God is worthy of praise. Third is the psalm praise usually includes and sometimes ends with a further invitation to praise God therefore the proper title is the characteristics Psalm of Praise so that the awkwardness of distinguishing the interpretation of different types of psalm can be well cleared.

This chapter discusses what a researcher should consider before examining a topic or project. Understanding the context of the topic, the audience, and why the subject matter is important are critical first steps. Identifying issues surrounding the topic and determining whether history plays a role in the process must also be considered. Different types of research methods and choosing the correct method to facilitate meeting the research objective are addressed. Lastly, the author suggests various tools that should be selected to examine a topic or project.

The article deals with the experimental analysis focused on the development of the physical and mechanical characteristics of the cement-based polymer-modified mortars (PCM) during ageing. Two different commercial products commonly used for similar in-situ applications were used for the experiment. The results of the shrinkage, elastic, fracture and strength parameters determined within the time interval from 3 days to 2 years of ageing are summarized and discussed in the article. The performed experimental analysis showed different behaviour of tested PCMs. The most significant differences were observed at the age of 90 days when one of the tested PCM showed a substantial decrease in most of investigated characteristics.

<em>Multi-phase machines are considered serious contenders as compared to the three phase machines for variable applications in generating mode. </em><em>This paper presents the transient performance analysis of a multi-phase induction machine operating in six-phase mode for power generation. In this paper the simulation and experimental analysis of a six-phase machine in generating mode have been made. The simulations are made and the machine functionality was investigated during no-load and when subjected to different types of loads. Experimental results are provided to confirm the ability of these models to represent during no load as well as during load period and the result were found to be satisfactory for power generation</em>.

Higher education institutions in Nepal have been offering different types of health sciences programmes over the last few decades. With the growing number of education institutions, the range of programmes has also increased. Currently, five higher education institutions – TU, KU, PU, PoU and BPKIHS are providing health sciences course at undergraduate and graduate level. TU being the leading university to offer most of health science programmes, there is observable influence in the curriculum contents and design of the remaining four institutions. However, a variation is observed in structure of curriculum within and between institutions. The curricula of Pokhara University are better designed and recent compared to other while the curricula of TU are less revised and comparatively old. Curricula in general health sciences are detailed and favourable to research methodology contents. DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3126/nje.v3i3.9185 Nepal Journal of Epidemiology 2013;3(3): 253-258

Abstract This article provides an accessible tutorial with concrete guidance for how to start improving research methods and practices in your lab. Following recent calls to improve research methods and practices within and beyond the borders of psychological science, resources have proliferated across book chapters, journal articles, and online media. Many researchers are interested in learning more about cutting-edge methods and practices but are unsure where to begin. In this tutorial, we describe specific tools that help researchers calibrate their confidence in a given set of findings. In Part I, we describe strategies for assessing the likely statistical power of a study, including when and how to conduct different types of power calculations, how to estimate effect sizes, and how to think about power for detecting interactions. In Part II, we provide strategies for assessing the likely type I error rate of a study, including distinguishing clearly between data-independent (“confirmatory”) and data-dependent (“exploratory”) analyses and thinking carefully about different forms and functions of preregistration.
