Study on the Impacts of Emergency on Economic, Environmental and Social Areas Using Mixed Methods Research

Mixed methods research methodology appears to be a suitable approach for researching complex phenomena such as emergencies. Researchers study the impacts on different areas such as economy, society, or environment, mostly in separate studies. To better understand the reality of emergencies, it is necessary to study the problem in the broadest possible context. So, examining those impacts in one single study is a challenge. The objective of this article is to process a comprehensive assessment of an emergency that has the potential to establish the basis of a robust tool for public managers to support their decision-making, using mixed methods research methodology. The crisis is an explosion of an ammunition storage site in the Czech Republic - the former satellite country of the Soviet Union. The sub-methods used in mixed methods research are analysis of data, interviews, questionnaire surveys, and field research. The main findings include that in the economic area, growth of public budget expenditures was found; in the environmental area, primary and inducted impacts have been proved. Sources and Methodologies for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Study in Brazil

This article uncovers relevant sources and methodologies to gather knowledge about micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in Brazil. To achieve its purpose, the text presents sources and methodologies. This type of study is relatively neglected concerning MSMEs. Until this moment, not much data has been reported about these companies’ categories, and even less in advanced research. Among the most significant data and methodology of addressing MSMEs in the country, the text highlights the surveys conducted by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (SEBRAE), and the international annual research Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) a study on the entrepreneurial activity, which Brazil is part for more than 20 years. The Brazilian institutions, as well as consulting for those companies, collect key data that posteriorly become research sources. Also, when explaining how institutions chose and treated the data, they own specific methodologies regarding those businesses in Brazil. The paper also points out the importance of constant law monitoring, adjustment, and technology incentives. This article's contribution is to present a research methodology on MSME in Brazil with relevant data.

Challenges and Attitude towards Research among Physicians of Bangladesh: A Cross Sectional Questionnaire Survey.

In the history of human civilization, research has played a significant role. There is no doubt that meeting the challenges of the 21st century will be tough if we are not world leaders in science and technology. The objective of this study was to assess physicians' attitude about research and the challenges they confront when doing research. From July to December 2020, a cross-sectional questionnaire survey was performed among physicians in Bangladesh. The questionnaire poll had 626 responses in total. There were 55.6 % female physicians and 44.4% male physicians among them. The majority of physicians (87.6%) felt that conducting research is critical to become a specialist. Research methodology training at the medical colleges are extremely beneficial, according to a substantial percentage of physicians (72.2%). Research methodology should be included in undergraduate curriculum, according to 89% of physicians. Research is beneficial as it aids critical thinking and policy implementation, according to almost all respondents (96.7%). The majority of respondents cited insufficient research training (92%), insufficient funding (92.2%), insufficient time (61%), insufficient familiarity with statistical analysis (88%), insufficient skill to design and conduct a research project and write a scientific paper (90%), as barriers to research. Priority on teaching and clinical practices over research and lack of interest to do research also mentioned by 93.3% and 61% responded respectively. Consequently, this study identified challenges and attitude of physicians towards research. This finding will guide for further studies to find out effective interventions to address the obstacles raised by research participants. DEBATING THE SCIENCE OF JURISPRUDENCE: STUDYING JURISPRUDENCE FROM PHILOSOPHY OF SCIENCE PERSPECTIVE

The Article discusses jurisprudence in terms of the philosophy of science; so far, there have been doubts in the study of jurisprudence due to the object, whether jurisprudence is included in science or only knowledge of legislation. In discussing jurisprudence, the author uses literature research methodology (library research) using the Philosophy of Science approach, specifically Epistemology, Ontology, and Axiology. The Philosophy of science approach will reveal the meaning of science on Jurisprudence.

An Inclusive Teaching Program From the Socio-Intercultural Entrepreneurship Approach

This chapter aims to elaborate a critical assessment of socio-intercultural entrepreneurship. The study is supported on the assumption that culture and social entrepreneurship are limited and that a framework analysis that helps to improve the understanding of the socio-economic realities is necessary. The research methodology employed were the exploratory and analytical instruments based on literature review and the transference of findings to a specific case on a postgraduate program in economy and international business at the Autonomous Indigenous University of Mexico. It's concluded that socio-intercultural entrepreneurship presents a methodological frame that allows entrepreneurs to have a major perception of global and local realities.

Visual Ethnography as a Research Methodology

The chapter presents a rationale for using visual ethnography as part of the methodology in qualitative research and illustrates what visual ethnography methodology is capable of accomplishing when imagery is included in the investigative process. Visual ethnography offers a venue for collecting and analyzing data that would otherwise be inaccessible and positions imagery as an important, rather than a minimal or occasional, choice for use in qualitative research. Topics include contemporary definitions of visual ethnography and its value in qualitative research, historical applications of visual ethnographic theory that influence the way researchers view visual ethnography today, and contemporary uses of visual ethnography in data collection and analysis. Finally, the conclusion explores the future of visual ethnography.

Creating the [Insert Name Here] Methodology

In this chapter, the author uses a first-person narrative to describe her dissertation journey as she shifted from deductively hunting for the “right” methodology in order to follow an inductive process as she developed the “Melissa Methodology” of value-creative dialogue inspired by Ikeda's philosophical perspectives and practice. She illustrates one way that non-Western ways of knowing, being, and doing might inform curriculum studies student researchers. In addition, she highlights the importance of having supportive advisors and colleagues who pose and answer questions that push one's thoughts in new directions. Finally, she discusses implications for doctoral students based on her observations as an instructor of doctoral research methods courses. By sharing her journey, she hopes to provide an example of how doctoral students can be guided by their pursuit of what is worth knowing in creating their own research methodology.
