ABSTRACT Brahminy Kite (Haliastur indus) is included in protected wild species list. Concervation is an alternative way to save this species from being extinct. The objective of this research was to find out the comparison of daily behaviour between male and female Brahminy Kite at Ragunan Zoo- Jakarta such as three activities. These behaviours were motionless, movement and ingestive. The descriptive method was used in this study, by direct observation to the behaviour of individual bird.  The focal animal sampling was used as a method for recording behaviour, which means observing   one individual for a specified amount of frequence and recording all instance of its behaviour. The observation was carried out on 2 birds with sex male and female. Each individual’s bird was observed each day from 06.00 to 18.00. Data analysis used descriptive analysis and nonparametric statistics analysis with U Mann-Whitney Test. The result of this analysis indicated if there were comparison      of motionless behaviour and movement behaviour between male and female Brahminy Kite, where testing criteria Eject H , density is 0.00 < α, level was significance but there was not comparison of ingestive behaviour between male and female Brahminy Kite. Abstract Riau University Arboretum is a habitat of long-tailed macaque (M. fascicularis). Human activities at the location are pressumed to influence M. fascicularis behavior patterns. The study aims to determine the daily behaviour of M. fascicularis in around of Arboretum UNRI. Observations used focal animal sampling and ad libitum methods. Observation of the daily behavior was carried out in Group A, which consisted of 9 individuals. The frequency of M. fascicularis daily behaviors were moving, resting, eating, playing,  grooming, aggresive, and sexual behaviour, respectively. Immature M. fascicularis are more likely to perform the moving, resting, and playing behavior. Whereas mature M. fascicularis are more likely to perform the moving, resting, and eating behavior. Gender does not affect the daily behavior of immature M. fascicularis, it affects the individual mature M. fascicularis, especially feeding, moving and grooming behavior. Intraspesific hetrosexual behaviour occured only between alfa, mature female(Ma) and alpha, mature male (Mon). Interspesific heterosexual grooming and mounting behaviors occured between M. fascicularis alpha, male individual and mature female M. nemestrina. Intraspecific mounting isosexual behavior occured on mature and immature of M. fascicularis from different group. The daily behavior that is influence by human activities is eating behaviour.

Abstract. Fauzi F, Suemarno, Afandhi A, Leksono AS. 2020. Nesting behavior of Bornean immature Orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus wurmbii) in Nyaru Menteng Arboretum School, Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 21: 2172-2179. This research aimed at analyzing the nesting behavior of Bornean Orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus wurmbii) in Nyaru Menteng Arboretum, Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The objects of observation were the immature orangutan nest, and the type of nest tree. The purposive sampling technique was used because not all immature Orangutan could make a nest. The Focal animal sampling method was used to determine the daily behavior and nets building activity. It involved observing and recording the behavior of five young Orangutans over a certain period of time and analyzing the nest made. The results of the study established that the daily activity of immature Orangutan on an average sequentially ranges from feeding 17.18%, moving 23.92%, resting 26.34%, and social behavior 32.57%. The process of making a nest begins with finding a suitable branch, bending and breaking twigs, and then arranging the twigs and leaves as a mattress. The duration of building a nest was 5.00 to 6.44 minutes, the preferred nest tree was Palaquium xanthochymum and Shorea spp., and the direction of the nest more facing west.

The condition of orangutan habitat in ex-situ conservation areas is different from the condition of their natural habitat. These different habitat conditions will have an impact on orangutan behavior, especially food behavior and selection of feed types. This study aims to determine the feeding behavior and the food types of orangutans (Pongo pygmaeus) in the Forest Of Gurung Mali Village Tempunak Sub-district Sintang District. Observation of eating behavior is done using the focal animal sampling method. Observation of eating activities is quantitative, namely recording the time taken during orangutan eating activities. Observation of the type of feed is done by observing the remnants of discarded plants found on the forest floor and trees found as a place for orangutans looking for food sources. Based on observations of the eating behavior of each individual orangutan for the food provided shows the behavior of eating while sitting is higher than the percentage of other eating behavior. For the eating behavior that they are looking for themselves, it shows that Oscar, Digo and Putri tanjung individuals have higher hanging behavior compared to other eating behaviors. The percentage of Momo and Jojo individuals sat higher eating behavior compared to the percentage of other eating behaviors. The types of feed found in the study site were found 8 types of feed provided by the Rehabilitation center and 24 types of natural food contained in the enclosure forest. Keywords : Feeding Behavior, Orangutan, Type of Feed.
