The mechanism of the formation of veinings on cast iron castings whose cores are made of a cold-hardening mixture is studied. It is shown that the cause of the formation of the veinings are the stresses in the surface layer of the core that arise when a-quartz is converted to a-tridymite. The possibility of reducing the number and size of veinings due to the selection of the composition of paints and the thickness of their layer on the surface of the rods was tested.

This article develops a fundamentally new approach in the selection of optimal methods for restoring of worn surfaces of agricultural machines’ tools with the formation and application of technological repair units. Based on the systematization and linkage of modular worn-out surfaces, their operating conditions, technological environment and the choice of their optimal combinations, it found a low-cost method of restoring details with white cast iron to gain a necessary quality of a new surface layer.

The possibility of improving the mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of the casting surfaces is being considered. The impregnation of the powder composition with liquid iron when it is poured into a casting mold to obtain surface-alloyed castings with a low content of chromium and nickel is proposed. Keywords: surface alloying, powder composite, casting, casting mold, pasting. [email protected]

The structure and properties of cast iron castings depends not only on the chemical composition of molten cast iron and the technology of its smelting, but also on many other conditions such as cooling and crystallization of castings, especially on further solidification of castings in casting molds. The article presents the established dependences of the influence of the cooling rate of castings on the mechanical properties of the obtained parts, the investigated microstructures of experimental samples from the selected molding materials and it is established that the thermal conductivity of materials affects the structure of graphite in cast iron castings. Computer models of dependencies and regression equations of the processes are proposed.

Selecting check index quantitatively is the core of the calibration of micro traffic simulation parameters at signal intersection. Five indexes in the node (intersection) module of VISSIM were selected as the check index set. Twelve simulation parameters in the core module were selected as the simulation parameters set. Optimal process of parameter calibration was proposed and model of the intersection of Huangcun west street and Xinghua street in Beijing was built in VISSIM to verify it. The sensitivity analysis between each check index and simulation parameter in their own set was conducted respectively. Sensitive parameter sets of different check indices were obtained and compared. The results show that different indexes have different size of set, and average vehicle delay's is maximum, so it's necessary to select index quantitatively. The results can provide references for scientific selection of the check indexes and improve the study efficiency of parameter calibration.

Abstract The paper presents recent developments concerning the formation of surface layer in austempered ductile iron castings. It was found that the traditional methods used to change the properties of the surface layer, i.e. the effect of protective atmosphere during austenitising or shot peening, are not fully satisfactory to meet the demands of commercial applications. Therefore, new ways to shape the surface layer and the surface properties of austempered ductile iron castings are searched for, to mention only detonation spraying, carbonitriding, CVD methods, etc.

Abstract Ductile cast iron (GS) has noticed great development in last decades and its boom has no analogue in history humankind. Ductile iron has broaden the use of castings from cast iron into areas, which where exclusively domains for steel castings. Mainly by castings, which weight is very high, is the propensity to shrinkage creation even higher. Shrinkage creation influences mainly material, construction of casting, gating system and mould. Therefore, the main realized experiment was to ascertain the influence of technological parameters of furane mixture on shrinkage creation in castings from ductile iron. Together was poured 12 testing items in 3 moulds forto determine and compare the impact of various technological parameters forms the propensity for shrinkage in the casting of LGG.
