Abstract The study is based on understand the titanium (Ti) doping effect to enhance the Neel relaxation at magnetic heating performance of magnetite (Fe3O4). Ti doped magnetite ((Fe1-x,Tix)3O4; x= 0.02, 0.03 and 0.05) superparamagnetic nanoparticles were synthesized via sol-gel technique. The analyses were performed for (Fe1-x,Tix)3O4 and core-shell (SiO2 coated (Fe1-x,Tix)3O4) nanoparticles in order to understand the influence of silica coating on the magnetic properties of nanoparticles. The target of study to enhance the Neel relaxation mechanism on magnetic heating. The interparticle spacing and Ti amount were two parameters that we focused on the study. The results provided that coating with SiO2 has no specific effect on heating performance of (Fe1-x,Tix)3O4 nanoparticles. While the increase in temperature (ΔT) under 150 kHz RF signal reached up to 22oC in 10 minutes for SiO2 coated (Fe0.97,Ti0.03)3O4 nanoparticles, which was very close value of uncoated Fe3O4 nanoparticles.

Abstract Magnetic nanoparticles, especially superparamagnetic nanoparticles (SPIONs), have attracted tremendous attention for various biomedical applications. Facile synthesis and functionalization together with easy control of the size and shape of SPIONS to customize their unique properties, have made it possible to develop different types of SPIONs tailored for diverse functions/applications. More recently, considerable attention has been paid to the thermal effect of SPIONs for the treatment of diseases like cancer and for nanowarming of cryopreserved/banked cells, tissues, and organs. In this mini-review, recent advances on the magnetic heating effect of SPIONs for magnetothermal therapy and enhancement of cryopreservation of cells, tissues, and organs, are discussed, together with the non-magnetic heating effect (i.e., high Intensity focused ultrasound or HIFU-activated heating) of SPIONs for cancer therapy. Furthermore, challenges facing the use of magnetic nanoparticles in these biomedical applications are presented.

Statistical data on reserves, production and exports of Russian oil are provided in the article. The author pays special attention to the expansion of opportunities of sea oil transportation by construction of new oil terminals in the North-West of the country and first of all the largest terminal in Murmansk. In his opinion, one of the main problems in this sphere is prevention of ecological accidents in the process of oil transportation through the Baltic sea ports.

Sulfated zirconia functionalized SBA-15 catalsyt (SZr-SBA-15) was prepared byreacting SBA-15 with Zirkoniumoxychloride and urea at 90oC to form ZrO2-SBA-15. Then, ZrO2-SBA-15 was reacted with H2SO4 at room temperature to produceSZr-SBA-15 catalsyt.. The catalyst was characterized in terms of adsorptiondesorption nitrogen analysis, SEM-EDX and FTIR. Based on SEM-EDX andadsorption-desorption nitrogen analysis results, it was found that Zr had beenincorporated in SBA-15. By using the SZr-SBA-15 catalyst, esterification reactionof oleic acid with TMP to produce biolubricant oil of Trimethylolpropanetrioleatachieved 85% oleic acid conversion and selectivity of 63,7%. Reusability study ofSZr-SBA-15 catalyst was carried out for 3 rounds of reaction. It was found that thecatalyst could be used up to 3 rounds without significant decrease in activityKeywords: biolubricant oil, catalyst reusability, sba-15, sulfated zirconia.
