The objective of this study was to measure the level of cruise tourists' satisfaction as well as the relationship between satisfaction, recommendation, return intention, and expenditure. Also, the impact of factors such as nationality, length of the visit, and age on the level of expenditure was measured. An empirical approach for data collection was followed and a total of 152 questionnaires were collected from cruise tourists visiting the capital city of Oman, Muscat, as cruise liners anchor at Sultan Qaboos Port. Results of the regression analysis supported the existence of a causal relationship between satisfaction with destination attributes, overall satisfaction, recommendation, return intention, and expenditure. It was found that the average expenditure varies according to age and length of the visit. Recommendations for policy makers were suggested on how to increase the role of cruise tourism in strengthening the economy.

Populating water saturation is a critical step in dynamic modelling. This work introduces a different height function that equates directly with the Leverett-J formula. In doing so, the model initialises under quiescent conditions without the need for end-point scaling. The resulting water saturation is a function of permeability, porosity, clay volume and height above the free water level. The Vcl—or clay content—is an important feature in this formulation because it compensates between extreme values of permeability and porosity. This peer-reviewed paper describes how a single height function was sufficient to match the log-derived water saturation for all wells in the Coracle sand of the Surprise Field in the North Sea. The process involved fitting a simple height formula, with the least possible parameters, to the J-function calculated from all the special core analysis (SCAL) data. These parameters were then tuned to match the log-derived water saturation. This technique was subsequently used in other fields where a single height function, which honoured the measured capillary pressures, accurately matched water saturation in all of the wells.

Abstract Absorption spectra within the infrared (IR) range of frequencies for nitrosamines in water are calculated using density function theory (DFT). Calculated in this study, are the IR spectra of C2H6N2O, C4H10N2O, C6H14N2O, C4H8N2O, C3H8N2O, and C8H18N2O. DFT calculated absorption spectra corresponding to vibration excited states of these molecules in continuous water background can be correlated with additional information obtained from laboratory measurements. The DFT software Gaussian was used for the calculations of excited states presented here. This case study provides proof of concept, viz., that such DFT calculated spectra can be used for their practical detection in environmental samples. Thus, DFT calculated spectra may be used to construct templates, for spectral-feature comparison, and thus detection of spectral-signature features associated with target materials.
