Abstract In the present time of innovation, conveyor assume an exceptionally indispensable part and have huge significance for material handling in different enterprises. A conveyor is essentially utilized for moving any sort of material from one area to other. It is made with nearer precisions, hence the expense related with manufacturing is additionally high. In this manner, it should work with better productivity. The choice of the best conveyor is a crucial activity for designers. Designers need to recognize different variables that will influence the functionalities of the conveyor system to limit bottlenecks in the system. An efficient methodology should be accomplished for the conveyor selection. Subsequently, the current work aims to the selection process of the best option for conveyor by using four decision making methods such as analytical hierarchy process, technique of order preference by similarity to ideal solution, compromise ranking method and Deng’s similarity based method. The selection is done among four alternatives based on six attributes viz: fixed cost each hour, variable cost each hour, conveyor speed, product width, product weight and flexibility. The analytical hierarchy process is used to determine weights of the attributes based on relative importance of each attribute. It is also observed that A3 conveyor is best suitable conveyor. Hence the above proposed strategies help decision-makers to examine and choose the best conveyor by considering the rank obtained of the alternatives.

Dunia  pendidikan  telah  mengalami  evolusi  secara  kontinyu.  Salah  satu faktor  pemicunya  adalah  kompetisi  antar  perguruan  tinggi  yang  semakin  ketat. Oleh karena itu pemasaran menjadi unsur yang strategis dalam menjaga eksistensi perguruan  tinggi. Dalam membuat keputusan pemilihan strategi marketing, terdapat beberapa kriteria yang perlu dipertimbangkan, diantaranya adalah biaya, waktu, tingkat pengaruh, capaian target dan lain sebagianya. Pada perguruan tinggi swasta pengambilan keputusan terkait strategi marketing tidak hanya ditentukan oleh bagian Humas saja, akan tetapi  harus meminta pertimbangan dari pihak manajemen dan yayasan pemilik perguruan tinggi. Berdasarkan  kompleknya permasalahan  yang  dihadapi,  diperlukan  sebuah  sistem pendukung  keputusan  kelompok  atau  Group  Decision  Support  System  (GDSS) dalam menentukan strategi marketing pergurauan tinggi.  Pada  penelitian  ini,  penulis  mengajukan  GDSS  menggunakan metode Analytical  Hierarchy Process (AHP) yang mendukung model Multi Attribute Decision Making (MADM) dan  Technique for  Order  Preference by  Similarity  to  Ideal  Solution  (TOPSIS)  sebagai  model  untuk  pengambilan keputusan. Penggunaan  GDSS  pada penelitian ini bertujuan  untuk  mengakomodir  penilaian  lebih  dari  satu  evaluator  dan meningkatkan  kualitas  keputusan.  Dengan  demikian  diharapkan  penilaian  yang dilakukan lebih obyektif, karena tidak dilakukan oleh satu pihak saja. Perangkat lunak yang dibangun dari hasil penelitian ini diharapkan  mempermudah dan mempercepat dalam menentukan strategi marketing perguruan tinggi.

Multi-Attribute Decision Making (MADM) is commonly used when we are comparing more than two courses of actions or alternatives based upon many selected criteria. This chapter presents methodologies to conduct MADM analysis for risk analysis and risk assessment across a variety of topics. These methodologies include Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA), Simple Additive Weighting (SAW), Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), and the Technique of Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS). The author describes each methodology, provide some strengths and limitations of each, discuss tips for sensitivity analysis, and provide two risk analysis examples to illustrate each method.

Increasing population growth also contributes to the increasing need for homes or dwellings as basic human needs. Many ways people do to meet these needs, among others, by buying from someone else, building it yourself or by buying a house in a housing developer. Houses besides being a basic human need, it is also used as an indicator of one's success and as an asset for business development and an increase in the economic value of the owner. Prospective home buyers certainly have criteria that are considered in choosing a house. Many of the existing criteria are often followed by the availability of more than one choice of the house to be able to meet these criteria. Therefore, the writer tries to try to make a Decision Support System in a Home Purchase that will later help prospective home buyers in deciding which house to buy. The decision-making method used in this system is an analytical hierarchy process (AHP) as a form of decision-making model that is suitable for multi-criteria and multi-alternative problems with the main input being human perception. Combined with the Borda method which is one method of group decision making that can combine the results of perceptual analysis (the results of AHP analysis) from several decision makers. it is necessary to have a group decision-making technique (group decision support system). So that the resulting home purchase decision can be accepted by all decision makers (family). Private companies, government agencies and educational institutions are still experiencing difficulties in selecting employees / employees who are in accordance with their needs and experts in their respective fields. With the increasing number of workers who have different abilities, recruiting new employees requires selection of prospective employees at Ekasakti University, because if this is done manually, it will make it difficult for the staff to receive and also be prone to mistakes in decision making. The decision making system method (Decisions Support System) can be used to help the selection of new employee recipients with the AHP Method. Selection of new employee admissions by the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method can help solve the case of selecting employee recruitment. The model of applying dynamic logic applied in the AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) has the advantage that the selection process provides very flexible results

The supplier selection process attracted a lot of attention in the business management literature. This process takes into consideration several quantitative and qualitative variables and is usually modeled as a multi-attribute decision making (MADM) problem. A recognized shortcoming in the literature of classical MADM methods is that they don't permit the identification of interdependencies among attributes. Therefore, the aim of this study is to propose a model for selecting suppliers of telecommunications equipment that includes the interaction between attributes. This interaction can model the hidden knowledge needed for efficient decision-making. To model interdependencies among attributes the authors use a recently proposed consistent fuzzy logic, i.e. interpolative Boolean algebra (IBA). For alternatives ranking they use the classical MADM method TOPSIS. The proposed model was evaluated on a real-life application. The conclusion is that decision makers were able to integrate their reasoning into the MADM model using interpolative Boolean algebra.

This paper is designed to present the effectiveness of group multicriteria decision making in automotive manufacturing company focusing on the selection of suppliers in Malaysia. The process of selecting suppliers is one of the most critical and challenging endeavor in any supply chain management. There are five decision making tools being analyzed in this study, namely, analytical hierarchy process (AHP), fuzzy analytical hierarchy process (FAHP), technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS), fuzzy technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution (FTOPSIS), and fuzzy analytical hierarchy process integrated with fuzzy technique for order performance by similarity to ideal solution (FAHPiFTOPSIS). The scores of ranking among the suppliers in each MCDM tools (AHP, FAHP, TOPSIS, FTOPSIS, and FAHPiFTOPSIS) show significantly comparable variation. Scores of the best supplier is then compared to the lowest supplier for all MCDM tools whereby this reflects that the highest percentage goes to TOPSIS with scoring of 79.37%. On the contrary, FAHPiFTOPSIS demonstrated the lowest score variation of 22.42% which indicates that FAHPiFTOPSIS is able to eliminate biasness in supplier selection process.

Talun sub-district is a government institution that provides public services to the public, which at this time there is no assessment of service satisfaction from the community so that the District Talun cannot know the assessment or complaints from the public to public services provided. The research aims to determine the level of public satisfaction of Public Service in Talun Sub-district. AHP is a complex multi-criteria decision-making method, in an unstructured situation into sections that are then shaped into functional hierarchies to present problems to be solved and then build a priority sequence for alternatives by pairwise alternative comparisons based on judgments of decision makers against a system. The appraisal application yields the value of the public satisfaction level and the eigenvector ranked according to the highest data as the final value of the AHP calculation so that the eigenvector value obtained can facilitate the Camat to see which elements of service are not good.

An important objective of a group decision-making problem is to determine the weights of attributes that are given by experts participating in the decision-making process. Since different decision-makers have unequal importance in decision-making, a series of studies focused on finding a set of appropriate weights for experts participating in a decision problem. In this paper, the problem of weight determination among decision-makers is investigated by extending an algorithm taken from the technique for order preference by similarity-to-ideal solution. In this case, a pair of most compromising and least compromising solutions is derived from individual judgments of decision-makers and then, these solutions are applied as the bases for determining the magnitude of individual alignment with the group opinion by using a closeness coefficient approach. Determining the weights of decision-makers, the group decision-making problem is then solved. Application of the proposed method is illustrated by a numerical example for the selection of a maintenance strategy.

The essence of Australian community buildings’ sustainable management drives through a previously established decision-making structure with four sustainability aspects and accompanying 18 criteria. Informed decisions are supported with a decision-making model that generates sustainability impacts of building components based on this decision-making structure. Building components’ individual impacts can be assigned using a numbering scale incorporated with linguistic terms. However, similar importance given to each aspect or criterion is arguable when the combined effect is considered. Hence, they should be given different weightings and their combination with individual impacts will produce final sustainability impacts. For calculating weightings, the study uses Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), widely used technique in Multi Attribute Decision-Making (MADM). The study also conducted an industry-wide questionnaire across Australian local councils because pair-wise comparison data is essential for weighting calculation. This paper presents the survey data and analysis results that captured weightings of sustainability aspects and criteria.
