Introduction: Jaundice is a condition that is often found in the 24 hours after the birth of the baby due to hyperbilirubinemia. Hyperbilirubinemia can cause various complications and death if not treated properly and immediately. The knowledge and ability of nurses in providing nursing care for neonatal jaundice still need to be improved. This study aims to describe nursing care for neonatal jaundice in hyperbilirubinemia infants. Methods: This study uses a case study approach design through the nursing process with a sample of a hyperbilirubinemia baby with neonatal jaundice nursing problems. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews, observations, physical examinations and documentation studies. Data analysis in this study uses narrative analysis. Results: The case report found jaundice on the skin, sclera, and mucosa. The nursing diagnosis in this study was neonatal jaundice associated with less than 7 days of age. The intervention provided in the form of phototherapy and breastfeeding education showed the result was not found jaundice on the skin, sclera, and mucosa after three days. Conclusion: The provision of phototherapy and breastfeeding education is effective in solving neonatal jaundice.

ABSTRACTIntroduction: the theoretical and methodological components are the proper expertise in nursing, and it refers to models, theories, care process, taxonomy of nursing diagnoses, system of nursing intervention classification, and system of outcomes classification, which base nursing care into professional practice. Methodology: research was performed on Google Scholar, reviewing the databases of Scielo, Ciberindex, Index Enfermería, Dialnet, Redalyc, Medline, identifying 70 published articles between 2005-2015, and selecting 52 of them. The keywords used were: nurse care, nursing diagnostic, classification, nursing theory, in spanish and portuguese. Results: training students, receive knowledge in the nursing process, NANDA International, classification of the interventions, nurse results and theoretical components. The Dorothea Orem, Callista Roy, Nola Pender, Virginia Henderson, Florence Nightingale, and Betty Neuman theories are applied. The application of the nursing process is limited and low familiarity with the international taxonomy by nurse professionals in the assistance area is noticed. Conclusions: the challenge of nursing is to continue to solidify the scientific knowledge and to undo the gap between theory and practice.KEY WORDS: nursing care, nursing diagnosis, classification, nursing theory. Objective: To identify the factors related to attempted suicide in a group of children and adolescents hospitalized in the Mental Health Unit at the «Evaristo Garcia» Hospital Universitario del Valle and in their family groups.Materials and methods: Exploratory-descriptive research. An assessment was used according to Marjory Gordon's functional health patterns. Sixteen minors and 14 of their parents or legal guardians were surveyed.Findings: Protective factors were identified, especially in values and beliefs and role-relationship patterns, and risk factors in patterns of the health management perception and tolerance-confrontation to stress. In addition, changes in patterns were observed: metabolic nutritional, activity-exercise, and sleep-rest.Conclusion: The risk factors identified, as well as the presence of a triggering event and the availability of a suicide method increase the risk suicide attempt in children and adolescents. The application of the nursing care process facilitated obtaining information and identifying risk factors related to attempted suicide becoming a tool of the discipline, which contributes to systematization and nursing research.

Nursing process, one of the most important tools in transferring nursing knowledge into practice, is a systematic and scientific problem solving method, which is primarily used in individual health care services. Determining problems by observing patient behavior is an important part of diagnosis stage of nursing process. In 1982, North American Nursing Diagnosis Association was founded. NANDA's purpose is to identify, simplify and improve diagnostic terminology to be used by professional nurses. Between 2012 and 2014, diagnoses list was reorganized, 11 diagnoses were revised and 16 new diagnoses were added. NANDA diagnoses are classified in accordance with Gordon's Functional Health Patterns. In recent years, one of the most used and largely accepted models in the field of nursing education and nursing practice is the Nursing Model Based on Activities of Living. The purpose of this model is to systematically collect data from the individual and build a foundation for nursing practices. This model is often adopted by nurses because it help building an appropriate basis for nursing process, it can be used not only for patients but for health individuals as well and it facilitates nursing process practices, especially diagnosis stage. The aim of this article is to reclassify NANDA's nursing diagnoses (which are classified by using Gordon's Functional Health Patterns) in accordance with Nursing Model Based on Activities of Living, which is more commonly used in practice. This will hopefully provide ease of use to nurses and students.
