Mobile convergence has brought about many changes in the modern society. Especially, combining strengths of existing mobile phones and PDA functionality, smart phone is able to overcome the time and location limitations that existing desktop did not meet. This study tried to examine factors influencing intention to use of smart phone based on the theoretical studies on technology acceptance model. Applying to smart phones relevant theoretical relations extracted from previous theoretical research background on mobile devices, mobility, interactivity, innovativeness, social influence and job fitness were selected as independent variables of acceptance factors of smart phone and then research model and hypotheses were established by using these variables. To verify the hypothesis on whether smart phone acceptance factors have a significant influence on perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, innovativeness was in significant influence on perceived ease of use, social influence was in significant influence on perceived usefulness and mobility and interactivity were in significant influence on both variables. As a result of analysis on perceived usefulness and intention to use, the mediating variables of perceived ease of use was in significant influence on perceived usefulness and perceived usefulness was in significant influence on intention to use.

Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to report a study investigating the impact of personal innovativeness in information technology (PIIT) and social influence on user continuance intention toward mobile commerce (m-commerce) in the USA. Design/methodology/approach – A survey was conducted among undergraduate and graduate mobile users in a regional university. Structural equation modeling procedures were deployed to analyse 323 valid data points. Findings – The study found that among well-educated m-commerce users, user personal innovativeness as measured by PIIT and perceived usefulness, the determinants of initial adoption, remain as strong determinants of user continuance intention. PIIT also remains as the antecedent of perceived ease of use. Social influence has changed the pattern of influence on continuance intention. Research limitations/implications – This study is unable to investigate m-commerce user expectations and satisfaction levels. The small and convenient sample does not offer guarantee of the findings. Practical implications – M-commerce providers should pay adequate attention to personal innovativeness, since it affects mobile user willingness and capability to welcome and adapt to new services and features. They should always utilize social channels to gather feedback, to distribute new changes or features, and to exert positive influence. Originality/value – This study is one of the few examining the effect of PIIT in a post-adoption context and confirms its long-term psychological influence on continuance intention toward m-commerce. This study is also one of the initial to use discursive power perspective to study social influence on continuance intention in the mobile context.

In the background of the rapid popularization of Panel PC and touch-screen smart phone, the SNS interface is facing a transformation from Website User Interface (WUI) to Handset User Interface (HUI). However, this kind of transformation should be based on deeply digging into the various demands of handheld devices' users, rather than simply integrating the function or streamlining interface of SNS website. This thesis will quantitatively analysis and estimate the users' perceptual demand to express themselves through the method of Fuzzy Evaluation according to Kansei Engineering. The thesis has generalized the SNS design consideration in view of the transformation from WUI to HUI, showed how to optimize the functions in small-interface, in order to meet various perceptual demands of users.
