Diabetes mellitus (DM) has become a global and national menace. The number of patients with diabetes in the Russian Federation tallied roughly 5.1 million, according to the incidence of outpatient visits in 2020 [1]. “Do-it-yourself” regular measurements of blood glucose levels (self-monitoring) are one of the most important components in achieving the therapy goals for patients with diabetes and preventing severe vascular complications. Now that the technologies have caught on, new “smart” glucometers appeared, which enable remote control and significantly expand opportunities of DM monitoring due to free mobile application integration.

Approximately eight billion therapeutic injections are administered outside of medical treatment facilities annually. The management of diabetes mellitus (DM) includes self-monitoring of blood glucose levels and administration of insulin and injectable non–insulin-related medications. The lancets, needles, and syringes used for DM management are categorized as medical sharps. Improperly discarded medical sharps can cause needlestick injuries in unsuspecting individuals and thereby pose a considerable public health risk. Release of these items into the environment will likely increase with the rising worldwide prevalence of DM, and a public safety crisis will emerge if proper disposal measures are not emphasized. This article reviews the literature from various geopolitical regions and describes how a substantial number of patients with DM improperly discard their sharps. Data support the need to develop multifaceted and innovative approaches to reduce risk associated with improper disposal of DM-related medical sharps into local communities.

Blood glucose levels  uncontrolled is a problem that is often found in patients with Diabetes Mellitus. This has an impact on the health of the patient as it would appear some macrovascular and microvascular complications. Number of patients with DM in Indonesia has increased every year and only 50% of patients suffering from diabetes who are aware of, and around 30% of them take medication regularly. The purpose of this study to determine the effect of Self Instructional Training method on blood glucose levels of patients. The method used is pre experiment with purposive sampling technique and the sample size of 16 respondents. Measuring instrument used glucometers to measure blood glucose levels and analyzed with Paired T Test. Based on the results, the entire blood glucose levels before the intervention above 200 mg /dl. After Self Instructional Training Intervention average blood glucose level was 35.75 mg /dl. Blood glucose levels are highest when the post test was 253 mg /dl and the lowest is 197 mg /dl. Based on Paired T Test  analysis obtained Self Instructional Training interventions can reduce blood glucose levels of patients with Diabetes Mellitus Type II (p value = 0.000). Diabetes Mellitus patients expected to be able to apply the  SIT method to perform self-care so that the patient's blood glucose levels can be controlled. Patient can do this methods  at home and needed support from their  family and health professionals to treat the diseases.Keywords : Self, Instructional, Training, level, glucose, blood, DM

Introduction: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a cause of morbidity mainly due to vascular complications. The prevention of diabetic foot problems can be done through metabolic control and foot exercises. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of diabetes foot spa measures on blood glucose levels, foot sensitivity and the ankle brachial index.Methods: This research was a pre-experimental design. The population totaled 170 DM patients and the sample was finalized at 30 respondents. The independent variable was diabetic foot spa, while the dependent variables were blood glucose levels, blood sensitivity and the ankle brachial index. The data was analyzed using a t-test and Wilcoxon rank test.Results: Diabetic foot spa in early neuropathy detection testing has a blood glucose level of t=9.523 and a p value=0.000. Diabetic foot spa also significantly affects foot sensitivity with a ρ <α (0.001<0.05) and an ankle brachial index of (ABI) ρ<α (0.008 < 0.05).Conclusion: Diabetic foot spa conducted regularly and independently can reduce the level of complications in Diabetes Mellitus patients. Furthermore, the tingling and pain in the feet can be reduced or even disappear as well as preventing complications such as foot ulcers that can often become amputations.

Worldwide, there is a high rate of growth in the incidence of diabetes mellitus. In the Russian Federation, the prevalence of diabetes is also high. According to some data, the number of patients with this disease in the Russian Federation can reach at least 9 million people (about 6% of the population). The most dangerous consequences of the global epidemic of diabetes mellitus are the development of its systemic vascular complications-nephropathy, retinopathy, lesions of the main vessels of the heart, brain, and arteries of the lower extremities. To prevent the development of complications of diabetes mellitus, its timely diagnosis is extremely important. Primary care physicians play a key role in early detection of diabetes. In this lecture, the risk factors for the development of diabetes mellitus, prevention of this disease, diagnostic approaches that allow timely detection of diabetes mellitus and start its treatment are considered. Diagnostic criteria for various disorders of the glycemic profile are presented. The role of glycated hemoglobin as a diagnostic criterion for diabetes mellitus is noted.

In the context of the increasing prevalence of diabetes, an important task is to educate the patient on the mandatory self-monitoring of blood glucose levels (SMBG), which is an integral component of the treatment and prevention of acute and chronic complications of the disease. On the basis of the SMBG data, it is possible to assess the parameters of glycemic variability, which is the fluctuations in blood glucose during the day and differences in blood glucose levels at the same time on different days. Due to the fact that GV is one of the main criteria for assessing the quality of glycemic control, its correction is considered as a new goal in the treatment of patients with diabetes.

Modern representation of self-monitoring blood glucose can be characterised by new technologies introduced in recent years, including tools to identify trends and patterns of glycaemia (PatternAlert ). These technologies simplify self-monitoring and help avoid errors in the interpretation of blood glucose levels in patients. This study examines the primary trends in the management and control of diabetes, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the control of glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c). In addition, this study raises broader questions on self-control in patients with diabetes mellitus, which are beyond the issues of the normalisation of blood glucose levels.

Diabetes mellitus is a severe chronic disease, and the number of patients has increased. To manage blood glucose levels, patients should frequently measure their blood glucose and analyze which lifestyle habits affect blood glucose levels. However, it is hard to record and analyze the relationship between their blood glucose levels and lifestyle. The internet of things (IoT) is useful to interconnect, monitor, obtain, and process data between various devices used in everyday life to fulfill a common objective. This paper proposes an intelligent self-care platform using IoT technology that helps patients with chronic diabetes manage their blood glucose levels in their target range. In particular, we developed various devices called the self-care IoT pack. It consists of five different types of devices to obtain blood glucose levels, physical activities, food intake, medication, sleeping, and so on. They can collect blood glucose levels with lifestyles that automatically impact the patient’s blood glucose level. We also devised a self-care application to display and analyze the data obtained from the IoT pack. Consequently, the proposed self-care IoT platform collects the blood glucose levels and the lifestyles without any burden of record. By reviewing the accumulated information, the patients can find bad habits in blood glucose management and improve their lifestyle.

Diabetes mellitus is one of the communicable diseases that have become a public health problem, not only in Indonesia but also the world. Currently morbidity of diabetes mellitus is increasing every year, where in 2006 there were 14 million people in 2011 and ranks fourth with 773 cases. DM is also a cause of disease mortality by 5.8%. And Samarinda own particular Islamic Hospital years 2009, there were 449 patients with DM, and 2011 an increase in the 1931 patients with diabetes mellitus. To increase patients’ knowledge about diabetes and diabetic patients be directing attitudes that support or positive attitude towards keeping blood glucose levels to remain normal. Methode to use pra eksperiment with one group pretest posttest. individual conseling withAudiovisual media. There is increased knowledge about diabetes diabetic patients before and after intervention with increasing value of 3.77 (p value = 0.000) and increase in attitudes regarding diabetes mellitus diabetic patients with an increase in the value of 5,35 (p value = 0.003). There was an increase in knowledge and attitudes of patients hospitalized with diabetes mellitus hospital after islam samarinda given nutritional counseling using audio-visual media
