Telah dilakukan penelitian untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman konsep IPA siswa SMP melalui pembelajaran problem solving. Teknik pemilihan sampel dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII berjumlah 66 orang. Data penelitian diperoleh menggunakan instrumen tes. Teknik analisis data dengan cara melihat perkembangan n-gain. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata pemahaman konsep siswa sebelum pembelajaran adalah 52,28 tergolong kategori kurang baik. Skor setelah pembelajaran adalah 77,40 tergolong kategori baik. Model problem solving sesuai untuk pembelajarain sains sekolah menengah pertama dan dapat mendorong siswa untuk membangun pemahaman konsep. Terjadi konstruksi pemahaman konsep siswa melalui proses menghubungkan pengetahuan dalam menyelesaikan masalah pembelajaran.Kata kunci: problem solving, pemahaman konsep, pengetahuan deklaratif, pengetahuan prosedural, perubahan benda-benda di sekitar kita. Junior High School Students’ Understanding of the Science Concept Through Problem Solving Learning on the Topic of Change Things Around our Life  AbstractResearch was conducted to describe the results of student learning through problem solving model. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. Subjects are 66 students of class VII. Data were obtained using paper based test. Data analysis techniques by observing the development of n-gain. This study showed that student understanding of pretest is 52,28 point categorized as low and posttest is 77,40 point categorized as good. It mean that the problem solving model suitable to the junior high school science class and encourage students to constantly build understanding of the concept. Construction of the concept through the process of connecting knowledge in solving learning problems.Keywords: problem solving, conceptual understanding, declarative knowledge, procedural knowledge, changes things around us.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil pemecahan masalah siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal TIMSS konten aljabar berdasarkan pemecahan masalah IDEAL (I-Identify problem, D-Define goals, E-Explore possible strategies, A-Anticipate outcomes and act, dan L-Look back and learn) pada siswa kelas VIII di SMP Kristen 2 Salatiga. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Terdapat 3 soal pilihan ganda TIMSS konten aljabar dengan topik pola, bentuk aljabar, serta persamaan dan fungsi. Pemilihan subjek dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan  purposive sampling yang diperoleh sebanyak 3 subjek. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu indikator pemecahan masalah IDEAL. Berdasarkan hasil tes dan wawancara, menunjukkan bahwa sebagian subjek telah mampu melakukan tahapan-tahapan pemecahan masalah dengan tepat dan runtut, namun sebagian subjek juga cenderung kurang dalam tahap Explore possible strategies dan  tahap Look back and learn.

Kejadian dismenorea primer di Indonesia sekitar 54,89%, sisanya 45,11% dismenorea sekunder. Dismenorea primer  pada siswi SMP X dari 35 siswi 25 siswi mengalami disminor bila haid. Salah satu pengobatan dismenorea secara non-farmakologis yaitu hipnoterapi. Hipnoterapi merupakan salah satu cara yang mudah, cepat, efektif, dan efisien dalam menjangkau pikiran bawah sadar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh hipnoterapi terhadap dismenorea pada siswi SMP. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pre Eksperimental dengan rancangan penelitian one group pre-test-post-test. Jumlah populasi yang didapat 117 orang dan jumlah sampel yang diambil 20 orang, dengan teknik purposive sampling. Pengumpulan data diperoleh secara langsung dari responden dengan menggunakan alat ukur Verbal Descriptor Scale (VDS). Analisis data melalui dua tahapan, yaitu univariat dan bivariat dengan menggunakan uji t-dependen. Hasil penelitian didapatkan nilai rata-rata skala dismenorea sebelum diberikan intervensi adalah 6,50 dan nilai rata-rata sesudah diberikan intervensi adalah 1,35, terdapat pengaruh hipnoterapi terhadap dismenorea (t=17,596, p-value= 0,001). Hipnoterapi dapat disarankan untuk diterapkan sebagai tindakan nonfarmakologis untuk mengatasi dismenorea.Kata kunci: Dismenorea primer, hipnoterapi, SMP.Effect of Hypnotherapy on Alleviating Primary Dysmenorrhea in Junior High School StudentsAbstractThe incidence of primary dysmenorrhea in Indonesia amounts to approximately 54.89%, while another 45.11% is secondary dysmenorrhea. 25 out of 35 female students at SMP Patriot Bangsa (Patriot Bangsa Junior High School) experience primary dysmenorrhea when menstruating. One of nonpharmacological treatments for dysmenorrhea is hypnotherapy. Hypnotherapy is an easy, fast, effective, and efficient way to treat dysmenorrhea by reaching the subconcious. This research aimed to identify the effect of hypnotherapy on dysmenorrhea in junior high school students. This research used a pre-experimental method with one group pretest- posttest design. The population of this research was 117 students and 20 students were chosen as sample with purposive sampling technique. Data were collected from respondents using Verbal Descriptor Scale (VDS) instrument. Data were analyzed in two steps, univariate and bivariate with t-dependent test. The results showed that the average value of dysmenorrhea before intervention is 6.5 and after intervention is 1.35. Hypnotherapy was found to have an effect on dysmenorrhea (t=17,596, p-value 0,001). It was suggested to the school that they should conduct nonpharmacological interventions such as hypnotherapy as treatment of dysmennorhea.Key words: Dysmenorrhea primer, hypnotherapy, SMP.

The purpose of this developmental research was to develop a scientific approach based science worksheet on the dynamic electrical material topic for ninth-grade junior high school students.  The worksheet were developed based on scientific approach. The stages include:  observing, asking questions, gathering information, processing information, and communicating. The development model used is the 4-D Model consists of 4 stages: define,  design, develop, and desimanate. The results of the validation, a small and large group trials indicated that the used of the scientific approach based science worksheet was appropriate for use. Thus, the developed worksheets can be used in the process of learning for Junior high school science students. Keywords : Worksheet , Scientific approach

The main target of the current study is to explain the metacognition of junior high school students with Field Independent (FI) and Field Dependent (FD) cognitive styles in mathematics problem-solving. It should be noted that the statistical population of this study was all junior high school students in the Sragen regency in the 2018/2019 academic year. To reach the research purpose, different instruments such as the cognitive style tests, the problem-solving exercises, and the interview guidance were used. Data analysis was carried out by data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results indicated that the students who have field-independent cognitive style had high self-confidence that they were able to solve the problem correctly, able to do planning steps, able to make important decisions for themselves, so they can solve the problem properly. Students with FD cognitive style are completely confident that their answer is correct, but they have not yet clarified the steps they need to solve their problems and have not yet focused on their shortcomings in mathematics problem solving, so their task results in mathematics problem-solving incorrectness answer.   Keywords: Cognitive style; Mathematics problem solving; Metacognition
